I had this issue on my 2018 Tesla Model 3 and it ended up being the inside door release like you said, not the latch mechanism. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. The temporary fix for now is to just bang on the door card where the release is and whatever is binding up in there releases. Thanks again!
This work for my F150 latch issue. It was like someone was holding the latch open from the inside. You could feel there was less resistance on the interior door opener compared to another door that latched fine.
