Hiya Chris, Happy New Year to you! Before I watched this video I decided to go through my collection (albeit most of it is digital these days) and see what I have from 1975 to compare.
We certainly have quite a few in common but here are a few additional ones from my collection which I think are worthy of mention:
Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run (the album was also from '75 - I totally agree that the track is easily his best)
    Cockney Rebel - Psychomodo
Eagles - One of These Nights
    Elton John - Captain Fantastic
Glitter Band - Rock & Roll Dudes (maybe a surprise choice one but I loved this back in the day and still listen to it)
Hello - Keeps Us Off The Streets - (an absolute glam classic)
Kansas - Song for America & Masque
    Wings - Venus & Mars
Queen - Night at the Opera (I see you have Bohemian Rhapsody single but surprised you never mentioned this one!)
    Robert Palmer - Pressure Drop
Rush - Caress of Steel (I know - worst Rush Album but also came out in '75)
Status Quo - On The Level
    Supertramp - Crisis? What Crisis?
Suzi Quatro - Your Mama won't like Me (can't beat a bit of Suzi!)
Interestingly neither Slade nor Sweet had an album release in '75
Certainly was a good year though. Cheers for now my friend! 😀

Happy new year Gary. Hope you’re and Donna had a great Christmas. Some of these I considered. Eg Eagles, Quo, Kansas I went with Fly by night for Rush as it’s better for me than COS. I usually steer clear of Queen as I have an aversion to Brian Mays guitar tone.
It was a great year. Not as good as 77 or 72 but pretty decent.
Hopefully catch up this year. Love to Donna. Cheers fella, Chris

Some great 1975 albums that would make my list are B.T.O: Four Wheel Drive; Jethro Tull: Minstrel in the Gallery; Can: Landed; John Cale: Helen of Troy; Joni Mitchell: The Hissing of Summer Lawns; Status Quo: On the Level; Golden Earring: Switch; Steppenwolf: Hour of the Wolf and last but certainly not least Bob Dylan: Desire and Grateful Dead: Blues for Allah which is arguably their best studio effort.

Cheers Chris, happy 2025. Wow, 50 years ago we were all young lads and the music was great. I remember that Physical Graffiti came out on my birthday and I saw them a month later. I checked and Robin Trower Live came out in 1976. For Earth Below came out in 1975. Both amazing albums. Rubycon by Tangerine Dream came out in '75 but I think you mentioned that Ricochet is your favourite TD album. Great choices as always. No Mystery by Return to Forever came out that year and it's a great fusion album. Marcus Garvey by Burning Spear would have been my reggae pick for '75. I'm surprised that you didn't include one of the best albums of the 70s...Metal Machine Music by Lou Reed 😅

Metal machine music is one of the Lou Reed albums I haven’t tracked down. No mystery is a good album, but not my favourite returns forever one. Happy New Year Tim

Apologies for the late new years greetings Chris... Best wishes for 2025. I waited to watch this until I'd finished my own take on this theme (or I would probably have ended up having to make a lot of changes).
It took me a very long while to get into Steely Dan, I think I found them far too smooth for my liking. I initially bought a double best of but only liked about half of it. But I eventually managed to get some CDs on the cheap and playing those changed my mind, though I tend to prefer the earlier albums.
I love studio double albums - the more varied the better.
I like the concept of choosing singles that will hit 50 this year - unfortunately I don't collect them.
The Rainbow live album was my first album by them - in fact I saw them live before I ever heard a studio album by them. Still think that those live renditions are the best.
While I love early ZZ Top I must admit to being very disappointed in the live side of Fandango too.
Only 10 albums the same, which only goes to show what a great year 1975 was (though I knew you wouldn't have any folk in your 50 😁). Cheers... Pete

Once again you hit upon a lot of great stuff (Rush, UFO, Thin Lizzy and Abercrombie’s Timeless track is awesome indeed). But iI’m missing 3 of my biggest hitters from 75: Brian Eno - Another Green World, Joni Mitchell - Hissing of Summer Lawns and Mahavishnu Orchestra - Visions of the Emerald Beyond. Given your interest in guitar workouts and the fusion genre I can heartily recommend this Mahavishnu album. It’s got some of the most beautiful and outrageous playing of Mclaughlin’s career, and the absolutely insane drumming by Narada Michael Walden. The album is great as a whole, but just the track Be Happy will show some of this insanity. And as for Steely Dan, I love them but Katy Lied is my least favorite album of the band: The Royal Scam is the one for me, endlessly enjoyable on all levels (guitar, groove, lyrics, and more rocky than jazzy for the most part).
