appreciate you sharing your experience in this video. I wish you had included some b-roll footage showing how it looks like from the front, for each of the options you discussed. I know I can find on other sites, but would have been great to have seen these in this video, while you were mentioning them.

Check out his 5000 mile review video. He shows a front view on that video. Had to seek it out because like you I was frustrated by his lack of a front view on this one and I wasn't able to find any front view pictures anywhere. I like the look and may go with this windshield when I get the Road Warrior for my 23 Low Rider. I already have the Memphis Shades system with 2 windshields including the Memphis Slim clear which I like. The horror videos of wind buffeting with the Road Warrior has scared me off but this combo may work. I'm about 5'7" so pretty short also.

Have been searching windscreens for a road warrior fairing and your review with explanations is by far the most valuable and insightlfull I have found and based on your findings I will be looking for a cafe screen as well. Most appreciated.

This video helped a lot. I’m 5’5 and was going to go w the 11”. I ordered 9” instead. I currently have the Memphis shade cafe fairing, originally paired it with drag bars but I upgraded to 10” mini apes w a 2.5 inch riser and I feel like the road warrior will look best and perform better w those bars. I honestly don’t even pass 80mph. Maybe once in a blue but for the most part I just go 10-15 over the speed limit. I have a CDL so i can’t risk getting speeding tickets which is why I got a sportster 😅

Thanks for sharing your experience with these windscreens! I am considering getting the GAUNTLET Memphis fairing It should be very similar to the cafe racer one!

I often see reviews about wind impacts with this fairing. But many people forget that the helmet also affects this. If you ride in a bad helmet with this fairing, you will feel bad. You need a helmet with good aerodynamics and sound insulation. I changed my Biltwell gringo and now I'm running in Shoei gt air 2 and I feel better.

True a good helmet can help as well

Thanks for the suggestion. No one seems to mention this size in any videos. I have the Memphis shades on my 23 lowrider and 2 different size windscreens including the Memphis slim clear. Thinking of going with the Road Warrior for summer but still undecided on which size windshield if I go that route. You are about my size so this one may work for me. Interesting that it gives you better results at higher speeds with the lower height

I'm six foot and have the Road Warrior with the 11" screen on my 2007 Street Bob. Here in the U.K. we have so many speed cameras, safety zones, average speed monitors, Police mobile speed traps and traffic monitoring mobile vans we're getting terrified to ride faster than the posted speed limits! 70mph is our maximum and that is only on our motorways and dual carriageways so I find the 11" screen does the job just fine. 100mph on public roads over here is pretty much an instant loss of licence, a court hearing, a hefty fine and possible jail time!

I feel for you but why did you guys let that happen to your country? It's a constant struggle here in the states to maintain our freedoms and I always cringe when they use Europe as an example for why we should adopt something. It's exactly what I don't want us to become.
There are a few speed cameras here in Philly but very few and easy to avoid. Most sane areas of the country have avoided them

thanks, really useful. I have been pondering the memphis shades road warrior for longer journeys as my nose fairing throws the wind and bugs right into my face. Big question for me was height of screen, at 5 10/11 I am a few inches taller but 32 inside leg. most of us have similar trunk size so there is prob not a big difference unless well over 6 foot. I was looking at the 11 inch but will now check out the cafe style. Thanks again

I have a similar experience - 11 inch screen works well until about 70 then starts to buffett.
I changed back to the Gauntlet Fairing and no more buffetting. the trade off is more wind on your body ,Im 5-7 and run a saddlemen seat I also dont like the looks of the tall screens.
Maybe i will try the cafe
    thanks for the great video

I’m having he same issues on my 23 Lowrider. I have the 15” and 11” vented. After 75mph the buffeting is out of control. Even after 60mph it’s not comfortable.
Might be worth checking out this cafe one, Or going with something completely different.
Thanks for the video, it’s great info.

Thanks for the review man. I’ve seen tons of videos out there of people comparing all different types of Memphis shaded road warrior fairing windshield size. This topic is all over the place lol.
Now yours being the first to mention the cafe style windshield on the RW fairing. May I ask what your height is? 🙂👍

  • @NYCZ31
    @NYCZ31 3 місяці тому

I've so far tried the 11" and 15" and while the 15" works best between these two. the buffeting with the 11" was awful. 15" gave some buffeting but only above 75mph. I'm 5'9" with a Shoei RF-1400 helmet. I feel like in summertime I should use the cafe screen to keep the air coming in to deal with the heat and get clean air around my helmet.

Thanks for the video. Just curious if a 9” non vented would have worked just as well. I personally like the traditional style screens over the cafe.

    • @TheMotoJawn

I think 9 in non vented would have still had buffeting because of the shape

Great video, I just recently purchased the road warrior fairing. Went for a ride here in Jersey and when i hit speeds of 50 started feeling the wind buffeting. So im going nuts on going small or taller on windshield. I have 11 in and I’m 5’8 with saddlemen seat. I may explore the cafe windshield.

@@anthonymorales24 How's that cafe shield working for you?
I'm in the same boat as you, same shield 11", same seat, buffeting at 50mph. Thinking of pulling the trigger on the cafe shield. I've tried just about everything as far as adjustments, even made my own vortex generators (for my helmet) to keep airflow from separating, everything has helped but only slightly.

The best bikini type fairing i had was on a 1981 yamaha xs 1100 rh. ( the all black model). It has a a kick in the top of the screen and all wind would just hit the top of my helmet.
I believe all fairings should have the minimal curved lip and,am surprised no one has them .
It is not even a large fairing. Possibly designed in a wind tunnel test. It seems all the windshields have no wind deflection design?
