      so i dont get it why the pescetarian diet would not work. after all, it basically consists of nothing but fish, vegetables, and healthy dietary fats. to me it sounds like a specialized version of the keto diet

      @@mosesCordovero-uw5vw The problem is the vegetable part is not limited! It means it includes grains, root vegetables, fruits, nuts, sugar/carbohydrates! So, a pescatarian diet sounds good, but as a primary care doctor I got heavier and sicker, it took retirement and COVID-19 time off to research the far superior keto diet. I’ve lost 35#, put on lean muscle, and got off BP and statin cholesterol medication. I find that cauliflower rice/potatoes/etc.... REEEALLY taste like cauliflower LOL And these cauliflower pizza crusts in the store have the same number of carbs as wheat flower. I'm super happy I found carnivore because now I don't force myself to eat a bunch of veggies every day only to deal with the bloating that I inevitably get afterward. I have just a small amount daily that I tolerate well in order to feed my gut bacteria. Not even sure that's necessary, but that's the most I eat.

    I watched your recent video stating to limit Cauliflower to 1 cup uncooked per day but would that make it to where you could only have about 2 tablespoons of Cauliflower mash? I like to boil cauliflower and then smash..not mash into small particles, drain water add 2 tablespoons of butter or Ghee per 1 cup serving and Garlic paste with salt to taste. It makes easy food prep when I cook up some burger patties..1 patty, 1 cup of cauliflower into a tupperware. This also freezes well.

      @Truthdosentexist69 7 місяців тому

      @kay8930 yes it can turn into a rabbit hole. What I've learned in the last year is,eat plenty of fatty meat,don't count calories. Ones weight will stabilize,so far that's been true. I'm strictly Carnivore my weight early on did drop significantly but it did stabilize. And I'm seeing the benefits to boot. Blood pressure normal,blood glucose normal, insulin normal, A1C 5.4 joints less achey (probably due to the weight loss) even now I can lose weight if I'm not eating enough so when that happens I eat more often.

    • @proanswers

      The sequel video might talk about them. With no mention of beans, grains, seeds and legumes NOT part of the KETO diet these would contribute to phytates. Oxalates interfere with calcium absorption spinach, chard, other hearty leafy greens; however the guest call in question on cooking COULD have been better answered better by Dr. Westman as you lower the levels in Oxalates in plants by cooking. NOte: Calcium and magnesium bind to the oxalates in your stomach and prevent them from being absorbed. Plant toxins is the new waive of health concerns but be careful of its un biased non research counterparts. Although a Dr. Ken mentioned NO HUMAN SHOULD BE EATING GRASS, expecially for health-would agree.

      @@Billy97ify "On keto you should not eat much anyway." That statement needs more explanation; since Ketosis revolves around utilizing ketones stored in fat vs glucose. "MUCH" is a word that has too many definitions of SIZE and portion. Keto allows one to NOT focus on caloric count due to the neurological effects of fat and protein causing a sense of fullness, state, lower insulin spike; however this state is different from human to human. There is some difference in the quality of keto foods which can make a difference in health over the long term. Beef organic and pasture raised vs non pasture raised. Toxins from the spraying are stored in the fat of the steer. Normal sea salt is not better than ancient sea salt. The sea salt derived from the oceans today have plastics and other harmful chemicals mixed in it. Ancient sea salt doesn't have those chemicals because the oceans didn’t have all the garbage people throw into it, thetefore healthier for you over the long run.

      Louis, I am not suffering nutritionally from not eating potatoes, rice, beans, lentils and let’s throw in fruits. Nor am I suffering from being fat adapted and eating until satiated, mostly one meal a day. While I do low carbs, if you can follow a mediterranean eating style, with very little processed foods go for it. Eating carbs doesn’t work for me. I do keto with whole foods, and the only thing I might buy that is processed is the keto ice cream bar. I recently ate some matzah for Passover (I planned for it and thought about how I would have to adjust my eating those days) and although it tasted sooo yummy the two days I ate it i didn’t feel that great. If I were to have another higher carb day I would make a lentil soup. But I don’t feel the need now. For the first time in 50 years I don’t feel deprived and I don’t think I’m dieting. I am getting healthy and because i am getting healthy I am losing weight. I feel great. Blessings 🦋💜🐱🌻🌟🌎

The Dawn effect coincides with your Circadian Rhythm sleep pattern. About an hour before you wake up your body sends a sugar boost to your system to wake you up and get you going for the day....kinda like crowing rooster for your body. This ups the glucose level in your system. It’s usually highest around 8:00am. As long as it goes down during the day you are fine.

      Spinach is full of oxalates, and kale is everywhere here in the UK.
      As for carrots, they are a root vegetable and moderately high in sugar, during ww2 carrots were used as a substitute for sugar in cakes. I will back you on sprouts though, they are so underrated 👍 garlic is fantastic too. It cleanses your system, good for the heart and blood pressure👍

      i have heard for years that carrots are full of sugar, but i just dont buy it. even if it is technically a starch, its carbs content is extremely low, while its nutrients level is very high. and as for spinach, its oxalates are neutralized when heating the spinach

      @Rob Smith Where did you get that idea from? Protein raises insulin some, but fat does not very much. High insulin is not really a problem for healthy people who don't eat fructose.

    • @ClassicJukeboxBand
      @ClassicJukeboxBand 3 роки тому

      @Rob Smith Having a degree does not guarantee that somebody is correct. Dean Ornish is a medical doctor. So is Dr Gregor, Dr Furman, Dr Esseltyn, etc. and I know these guys are not correct about most their views on nutrition. If all doctors were smarter than everybody else they would agree and always be correct, but they don't agree and they are not
      Real victims of the Dunning Kruger effect, like yourself cannot see through the lies and the myth that somebody who has a degree, certificate of education, or is considered an expert is always correct.
      Dumb ass people who don't question authorities or doctors always stand behind the "I'm more educated than you so I'm correct" fallacy.
      Every educated person is correct about some things, and wrong about some things just like everybody else, and you are claiming I am a victim of the Dunning Krueger effect?
      The Dunning Krueger effect, and a pretty strong ego explains perfectly your response to what I wrote.
      If I was actually a victim of the Dunning Krueger effect, I would believe that I'm smarter than everybody else(which I don't), I would believe that I know more than most people about nutrition than most people(which I don't) and would be incapable to accept valid criticism(which I am able to do).
      Insults and not understanding that experts are not always correct is not valid criticism. Valid criticism would be showing me where I made a mistake. I have studied a little bit about insulin, and the people who talked about it said that carbohydrates raise insulin the most, then protein, then fat. If you could show me that my opinion about that is wrong, I would listen. If I was a victim of Dunning Krueger, I would not listen and assume I'm correct, but I'm not doing that. Show me how I'm wrong about insulin, man.

    People don’t realize that potatoes grow well in various parts of Florida and there’s a serious industry near St. Augustine. Not Idaho levels, but more than one might think.

      Hi Amanda, there is so much misinformation out there. So many folks are getting the wrong information. Dr. Westman has an online course called Keto Made Simple? This course teaches you exactly how to implement a Keto diet, safely and without all the confusion. Over and over the video lessons, there is also 3 weeks of support within a private Facebook group. The results have been incredible. There have been over 2500 folks taking the class since December 2020. If you would like to join the waitlist, click the link below.

      He's helping people! Do you find canned corn in the grain isle, or the vegetable isle?? No, doesn't make it a vegetable but you don't find tomatoes sold next to the fruit either do you? If you can't understand what he is trying to communicate without being so pedantic I feel sorry for you.
