I’d like to see an animation of what happens during a heart palpitation. I get them occasionally and I feel heavy thumping in my throat. It’s unpleasant.
Thanks for the request. Heart palpitations can be worrisome, but they're usually harmless. So is cardiac arrest just a term for the heart stopping, like respiratory arrest means breathing stops? Meaning a heart attack can lead to cardiac arrest, but they're not the same thing?
Yes- in a heart attack the blocked artery prevents blood from reaching a section of the heart and that part of the heart begins to die, but the heart does not usually stop beating during a heart attack. So you are exactly right, Heart attack can lead to (and increase the risk of) cardiac arrest, a disruption of the hearts electrical system to where it cannot pump blood effectively- but they are not the same.
Simply put.... HEART ATTACK, called Myocardial infarction in medical terms, happens when blood supply to a portion of heart muscle is blocked and that portion stops contracting temporarily or permanently. The effect on the patient depends on the size & location of the affected muscle from simple chest pain to death. HEART FAILURE , which can happen because of heart attack, heart muscle diseases, lung disease or various other causes including anaemia, means there is inadequate, weak pumping by the heart resulting in easy fatiguability and breathlessness. Being mindful of cardiovascular health is incredibly important. Monitoring blood pressure, normal body weight for the individual, blood glucose, and cholesterol levels can give good basic insights into heart health. Some conditions may require more advanced or regular testing. And if you have a family history of cardiac issues, regular screenings can save lives. Proactive actions like healthy eating, regular exercise, and quitting smoking or tabacco use will positively impact your heart health. We recommend seeing your doctor to evaluate your heart health and understand and address any individual concerns.
What’s the typical presentation and progression of the last one (heart failure, I think it was)? And the treatment for heart failure? Especially if it’s just not pumping as efficiently as possible and only causing mild symptoms intermittently?
That is a great question, while the other two conditions are often acute events, heart failure can develop slowly over time (it can also start suddenly). Symptoms may present as shortness of breath, fatigue, swelling in the legs and feet, weakness, decrease in the ability to exercise, rapid weight gain from fluid, nausea, rapid/irregular heart beats. Bc (like you said) symptoms can be intermittent, sometimes the condition is diagnosed until later stages. So anyone experiencing those symptoms should get checked. Especially with chest pain, fainting or severe weakness, rapid/irregular heartbeat with shortness of breath. The causes and severity of heart failure can vary widely so treatments also vary. Sometimes lifestyle changes and treating contributing factors can reverse heart disease. Other times surgery is needed. Or a combination of medicines may be used. This is why recognizing the symptoms and being seen is so important.
I get palpitations oftenly,i guess once or twice every few days and that really worries me, eventhough they are most harmless, i still worry everytime i get one...
If you are referring to blood pressure: Normal pressure is 120/80 or lower. Your blood pressure is considered high (stage 1) if it reads 130/80. Stage 2 high blood pressure is 140/90 or higher. If you get a blood pressure reading of 180/110 or higher more than once, seek medical treatment right away. A reading this high is considered “hypertensive crisis.”
I have pain on the left side of my body that radiates to my neck and jaw and back. Ekg, blood work, xrays, all normal. The pain comes and goes. I'm tired it's affecting my life
We apologize for any confusion - cardiac arrest is explained first in the video from 0:19 to 1:44. In the narration it is first referred to as "Sudden death" a common term for cardiac arrest.
I need a medication dats no need to see doc frequently, if not i wud to take mc leave, then i got no job, how am i to pay my bills, my debt, my mom. all the hastle see a doc really burden me as a low income worker. Naik turun jumpe doc. Kalau bole cube elak , kalau dah ajal, tawakal pada Allah.
What is your native language? We don't allow reposting, but are working on making our content available in more languages. We can let you know when that is available.
It can be, but not always! CPR or an AED can save someone in Cardiac Arrest. Fast treatment for a Heart Attack can save a life (and angioplasty and stenting, or bypass surgeries can be very effective). People can live a long time with Heart Failure, so recognizing the symptoms can get them to a Cardiologist to determine the cause and prescribe treatment. Understanding the difference can help save lives.

@@healthdecide wow! Thanks for replying!!! And thanks for the video!
I've experienced Super ventricular tachycardia before at 340 BPM, not fun.
I couldn't stand it, I eventually had a procedure done to fix it.
That sounds incredibly difficult to experience. We are so glad you were able to get that taken care of.
I get palpitations oftenly,i guess once or twice every few days and that really worries me, eventhough they are most harmless, i still worry everytime i get one...
There are loads of people on here praying for you, which is very reassuring.
Please take my advice and seek medical help. All the best.
I am 180 with 130... But still no pain or symptoms... What shall I do ?
If you are referring to blood pressure: Normal pressure is 120/80 or lower. Your blood pressure is considered high (stage 1) if it reads 130/80. Stage 2 high blood pressure is 140/90 or higher. If you get a blood pressure reading of 180/110 or higher more than once, seek medical treatment right away. A reading this high is considered “hypertensive crisis.”
Recently my classmate died because of this
We are so sorry to hear that.
I have pain on the left side of my body that radiates to my neck and jaw and back. Ekg, blood work, xrays, all normal. The pain comes and goes. I'm tired it's affecting my life
Incomplete: Does not explain cardiac arrest indicated in the title of the video.
We apologize for any confusion - cardiac arrest is explained first in the video from 0:19 to 1:44. In the narration it is first referred to as "Sudden death" a common term for cardiac arrest.
My father passed away suffered cardiac arrest 😭😭😭
So sorry for your loss.

Tell me one thing who is ultimately given sugar idea in tea. ?😢
Already heart broken in love 😢
But the result is same...😢😢😢
It can be, but not always!
