I caught a courtesy ride along on a U.S. Navy P-3. We did a high performance take off...essentially locking the brakes, winding up the engines and releasing the brakes. The plane virtually leaped in the air! Your description of getting underway reminded me of that. Good video Tim! Thanks.
Very cool! Those P3s used to fly over Monhegan Island (where I grew up) all the time and I always loved seeing them. Thank you very much for watching all these years. CUOTO
@@TimBatSea enjoy our video's my dad was a tug boat Capt. He worked with Willis barge line he wanted me to go tug boaten but I wanted to be a fisherman big mistake.
@TimBatSea sorry to hear that, but at least you can still show us this at all. Can you say what it is that caused this change? Radio coms, or something else?
Great video once again. Just started the online portion of the STCW basic training today. Hopefully that makes me more appealing to a company out there. Ready to get on a boat
Thank you very much for watching Frank. I have just got underway with SVP for the 1100 mile trip down to Florida. But I am dreaming of when we get to Thailand in SVP. CUOTO
Thank you for watching Dan. The company I work for basically has two classes of tug that look very similar. The 3000s and the 4200s. So if you see a tig with a V on the side, that's what our boat looks like. It's also in the TimBatSea Logo. CUOTO
When you connect up to a barge, what is the combined unit called. What i mean is, if the Tug has a name and the Barge has a name, what name do they go under when they are joined as one vessel?
Thank you for watching and welcome to the channel. It is usually only called by the tug's name. Also someone might call on the radio, "tug and tow". CUOTO
Hey Tim I have a question for you way when we are at t tuna ground and visibility at least 10 miles and you tug boat guys come right through the middle of the fleet all that ocean
Thank you very much for watching. Like airlines, many of our routes are predetermined. Often we are in a recommended lane provided by the Coast Guard. I get that it is frustrating, but you could also look at it from another angle. "Why are they fishing in our lane"?. CUOTO
Hey Tim, nice video again. The handing line is called a werplijn and keesje in Dutch. Keesje is a ball on the end. Nice to know that Jan-Kees are Dutch names as yankee is derived form that Dutch name
Juat a stupid {maybe} question. Does it ever occur that a capyaib has the right to refuse a tow because of extreme conditionsn thatb may occur? As always I' always learning from you. Thanks Paul
Not a stupid question at all. Thank you very much for watching Paul. Yes. In this case I could have waited for the tide. But we are paid to work, so we try not to refuse jobs unless it is very dangerous. CUOTO
@@TimBatSea 👍✅ You got my number Tim, give me a call when you have the equipment that you use for the voiceover handy, remember im a hour or two ahead of you.
Him Tim. Love your videos, even with the restricted format. Is a second camera possible with your new restrictions? A little “B” roll on the action would be great. CUOTO
I really enjoy your videos and this is the first time I struggled to understand what you are saying. I tried two different sets of hearing devices but it didn’t help.
Recently, your voice sound level is much lower than the (interrupting) ad volumes. This one has lots of background noise/sound but it is difficult to hear you voice. Other than that, the video is great! OK, when you got the barge free and you blasted backward, you also raised tour volume to what sounded normal! Nothing like avoiding another ship to get the blood flowing!! Thanks again!!
Hi Tim! I enjoy your videos, keeper coming! Just an FYI, the voice-over audio is kind'a weak volume. Especially difficult to hear you over the background noise.
Thank you very much for watching Steve. I am not sure what I did wrong on this one. Thought I had it right, but obviously I didn't. I'll get it right on the next one. CUOTO
What a shame on the new video version. Here you were describing and explaining deck rigging and equipment when your previous versions you would show what you are talking about. Kinda cute that at 13:00 there is a glare that is highlighting the company logo. What kind of regulations do you have? I saw workers (tankermen) working lines without floatation and the barge underway with watertight doors opened.
I suggest that you use your video editor to reduce the camera sound which is picking up the engines etc and overpowering your excellent voice over. Thank you.
Thank you very much for watching John. It is hard to give everyone all things. I would like to eliminate all the camera sound, but then I get beat up by those that want it. But I am trying to find a balance. CUOTO
'Paper recycling' on port - is that where they pile barges with paper and dump it in the Atlantic? Not that there anything wrong with that - it's just the mendacity.
Hey Tim, I've been a somewhat regular follower for a while now (and retired tug driver) and I find your new format quite uninteresting. I'm sure you have solid reasons for the transition, but for this viewer, the informality (and imperfections) of the old format held much more appeal. I'll keep checking in for a little while, but likely I'll go away. Best of luck
Thank you very much for watching. The changes are the only way I could continue to shoot content. I really messed the audio up on this one. But I hope to figure it out in the future. CUOTO
Hallowed Ground Landfill :/ (so to side-step a proper criminal investigation of the site - see: The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions (2004) by David Ray Griffin).
Glad to hear your industry still has the respect and camaraderie like trucking used to. Hopefully it stays that way!
Me too! Thank you very much for watching all these years. CUOTO
Excellent Video Tim. See you on the next one.
Thank you very much for watching Dave. CUOTO

Thank you very much for watching and supporting the channels. I was hoping that had gotten better. CUOTO

Thank you very much for watching George. CUOTO
Just as a matter of personal preference. I much preferred the older format from inside the pilot house with the in progress voiceover. CUOTO.

While everyone is wringing their hands over the elections, I am gaining a moment of calmness going down the river with you. Hello from Thailand

enjoyed the video thank you Tim
Thank you very much James. CUOTO
your welcome Tim
Thank you for another Great video. Cheers
Thank you very much for watching Steven. CUOTO
Are there barges out there that use a mechanical connection, a bit like the trailer hitch on a highway truck?
Thank you for watching and welcome to the channel Johnny. Yes. ATBs (articulated tug/barge) have a mechanical connection. CUOTO
Another great and interesting video Keep up the videos
Thank you very much for watching Chucky. CUOTO

What is the purpose of this barge?
Thank you for watching and welcome to the channel. The barge is loaded with petroleum products and moves them to a different facility. CUOTO
Great maneuvering as usual.
Thank you very much for watching Walter. CUOTO
How about a camera on the outside, but you speaking to an audio recorder in real time? (then synch them in post) - Is that 'safe'?
Because you're not 'in the moment' - the videos lose a sense of veracity - that live feel (reality) that UA-cam video uploading is all about. :/
Thank you again for watching Michael. I film content at the pleasure of my employer. Not my rules. CUOTO

'Paper recycling' on port - is that where they pile barges with paper and dump it in the Atlantic? Not that there anything wrong with that - it's just the mendacity.
Nothing has been dumped at sea since the mid 1980s. The paper recycling plant on the Kill makes cardboard, including pizza boxes.
Thank you for watching. I believe Rob explained it perfectly. CUOTO
Always love your videos, but this time it seemed harder to hear you talking , just me maybe, thanks Tim.
Very sorry Terry. I had thought I got it better. Thank you for watching. CUOTO
