Thank you so much for not quitting UA-cam, I am so proud of you both as if you’re my own family. I have learned so so much from you guys that would not have been possible without your channel. I haven’t found a single UA-cam channel that would teach me so much in such short time like your channel. You both are awesome, creative, talented and you never fail to amaze me with your work and inventions. Are you sure you are not genius in disguise? You both come up with the most amazing, innovative inspiring ideas, and you even test it out to make sure it works, and how to improve it if possible. I wish you all the best , and can’t wait for your next post. Thank you
Your machine reminds me of things my dad and grandfather built when I was a child. Great granddad was a blacksmith /machinist. My sister became a sculptor. I wish I could work with wood or metal. I'm a rather clumsy old lady. I'm fascinated by the work you and your wife are doing on your farm.
Love the wood countertops! I can't wait for the next video to see how much progress you make on the kitchen. Thanks for all the explanation on the bricks. That's an awesome machine. Buddo you can make anything you can dream up!
Thanks for the chat, great topic - Ingenuity and industriousness are what makes us who we are. Also lovely to see you in the house in your shirt sleeves, now I can think of you as cozy and comfortable and not achy with cold. 🔥🔥🔥
Loved seeing how you've made this press from start to finish,as a female who does the diy it's great seeing your step by step videos thankyou...keep em coming x
Love it, brilliant idea well made pulpier and stand, horse manure has the recycled straw and with the wood shaving the perfect combination with the bonus for garden veg feed possible water butt for feed storage. Enjoy for the free heating. Keep warm and safe.
Another nice video, great review of the 15 degree leg technique. After watching your previous sawhorse video, I rebuilt some rickety old horses, resetting the legs to 15 degrees. Nice and solid now, so double thanks!
This was a really interesting vlog about the manure fuel-making. I'm amazed that you are working to use a fuel that burns warm, is using natural materials, and a good attempt to economize. So kudos to you! And the countertops are beautiful. I haven't seen much chestnut used for countertops and they are really mellow.
It’s good to see you both looking fit and well and just getting on with life, how’s the wet weather been for you I on Dartmoor not in the nick I might add but we’ve got rivers where they should not be,stay healthy I enjoy your videos. 😅😅😅
Those worktops are fantastic beautiful, love how you utilise everything that’s the way to go never mind net zero you’ve got a unique way of looking at things and the wife is with you all the way well done 👏
I think it's marvelous what you did. Using nature for your sustenance. All you need now is a lean to to put it in and racks to place them on. If you were closer to me, I'd get you to make me one. Well done. 🤗 🤗 Hugs.
Lots of work, but it looks like it will be well worth it. Will the Aga be going in soon? I'm looking forward to seeing Tracy cook in the fabulous, custom, handmade kitchen!
Steppe people and plains Indians have known this for thousands of years. Their fuel buffalo/yak/horse was naturally dried. The drying process I think will be the key.
Free energy is allways a plus and less work than cutting wood ,cant wait for the rest of the kitchen to be done plus i love the work tops will last u for years ,do u have to keep oiling them ? ❤
can't beat a bit of box section Budo.I never got "me 'ead round" stick welding but my nephew was an immediate natural. Super bit of kit there man. Bob (Weston super Mare)
I Love the colour of the work surfaces, it so lovely and deep and warm, is it just natural or stained first? You get used to the honey colour of oak, but this in chestnut is something different which I’ve not seen before. Very much looking forward to seeing it with the island colour too. It’s a clever concept with the briquettes, we like you have a solid fuel range and a wood burner heating our house. I also have four horses bedded on shavings and a big muck heap, I will watch as you start to burn them next winter as maybe we should consider doing the same. ❤
The bricks remind me of turf used in other counties for heating, Of course that is compacted by nature then cut.Your method looks good, I am sure in the future you will design, or place the machine so the liquid will run into a system that runs directly into a holding container that can be, or is attached to a tractor for easy spreading. Getting rid of the need to lift the heavy buckets of liquid. Perhaps even making more than 1 brick at a time. The counter tops look lovely
Hello buddy, that video was so interesting! I live on a farm and we have a horse manure pile which we periodically cart off to a larger heap that gets spread on the fields. I can't believe this has never occurred to me to try. I have questions such as how dense the bricks are, how long they burn for etc. I think if you started to manufacture your squeezing tool you'd have a big seller on your hands. Personally I have an endless supply of muck and sawdust but my metalworking skills leave much to be desired 🤣
Hi buddy glad you enjoyed the video and it’s giving you some inspiration just remember to use the freshest manure as possible not the stuff that’s rotting back to earth that goes on the compost 😜 you can always email me for questions to help all the best Budo
I used to build test fixtures at Ford Motor Company, a man named Clay would not allow me to do any metal working without proper PPE. Maybe someone with more spare cash to send you some safety glasses. Please be careful with yourselves.
Another amazing video. Love the design of the stand. How will you store the briquettes to dry them out? I imagined some sort of wire mesh over corrugated iron, but that will need a large surface area, won't it? It will be interesting to see what sort of drying arrangement you come up with. Looking forward to seeing that. The worktops look fantastic. I bet that oil Tracy is applying smells wonderful.
Is your brick recipe just 50/50 manure and green waste? Or do you have a different ratio? Great rundown of your calculations for the doubters as to why this is a great approach to heating your place. And we are looking forward to seeing the upcoming kitchen work!
Awesome, truely marvellous, the ideas you come up with Budo. Bloody sweat and tears you and Tracey put into your life on your beautiful property in France. Hubby and I really appreciate your vlogs, thanks for sharing your journey with us. 🙏🫶🙌👍🙏🫶👍👊💫💜
Hi the oil is specially formulated for kitchen work surfaces and is food grade I used it in the trade for over 30 years now it’s around twice as better for pénétration and longevity then osmo work surface oil
You could teach anyone to do just about anything! You have more patience and a kindness that goes along with it. Once you get moved in and get the workshop going, you will never have to worry about retirement. You'll always have cash flow and a wonderfully designed place to live! Cheers from Oklahoma!

Hello buddy, that video was so interesting! I live on a farm and we have a horse manure pile which we periodically cart off to a larger heap that gets spread on the fields. @@FrenchFarmhouseDiaries What's wrong with manure that's gone off a bit? Our muck heap gets cleared once a week so it can be anything up to that old.
it’s when it compostes back to earth it’s no good or even mixed with earth so the fresher the better as it’s still grass and hay
I used to build test fixtures at Ford Motor Company, a man named Clay would not allow me to do any metal working without proper PPE. Maybe someone with more spare cash to send you some safety glasses. Please be careful with yourselves.

Curious, could you upgrade your brick press to do two at a time? Or make another to dbl your production?
Great idea maybe in the future thank you 🙏🤗

Love you guys. Where’s the snow this year?
Still in the sky thank you 🤗🙏
How long do the bricks burn?
Thank you around 1.5 hours 🤗🙏
You've got your "merde" together! lol
Oh yes 👍🏻
Is your brick recipe just 50/50 manure and green waste? Or do you have a different ratio? Great rundown of your calculations for the doubters as to why this is a great approach to heating your place. And we are looking forward to seeing the upcoming kitchen work!
Hi Anna yes we are currently at a 50 to 50 ratio but probably end up 60 wood chips to 40 manure mix for hotter burning 🥵 all the best Budo xx
Interesting findings Budo! Didn’t they also burn Peat?
Yes they did lna thank you for watching 🤗🙏

Have fun squeezing out bricks Budo. 👍
Thank you he will 🤗👍
Who'da thunk it, road apples for fuel!?
Thank you 🤗🙏
Are you using boiled linseed oil or food grade oil on those counters?
Hi the oil is specially formulated for kitchen work surfaces and is food grade I used it in the trade for over 30 years now it’s around twice as better for pénétration and longevity then osmo work surface oil
@@FrenchFarmhouseDiaries Thanks! I was going to warn you about something you already knew!!!
The briquettes de merde: Are they absolutely dry when you burn them so they do not produce creosote in the chimney?
Yes they will all be below 7% dry and there is no pine or fir in the wood chippings so no creosote as this comes from sap and pitch thank you 🙏
