I love this quilt. My sister gave me a bag full of my Mom's and Grandma's hankies. Now I know what to do with them. Thank you for the tutorial. Awesome!
👏👏👏 lucky you 🥰❤️😀
Gorgeous, Beth. I can just imagine your handkerchief quilt spread on an iron bed in an old farmhouse, sheer curtains fluttering in the breeze. Just lovely
❤❤❤❤❤ what a mental picture!
Wow! That is amazing how the cornerstones changed the look of the quilt! Absolutely beautiful! You never fail to dazzle, you're an awesome quilter.
I agree, I thought the quilt was beautiful but then you added the corner stones and it became outstanding!
I can’t wait to see how you quilt it, please post a video of that.
Beth, this is such a lovely quilt top using the vintage handkerchiefs. Your decision to sew each different sized hankie to a specific sized neutral background block brings a uniformity to the top. The eye sees a balance that is pleasing. A great idea. What a wonderful way to showcase pieces of history. Thank you for finding a creative method to save them and reuse them to be admired again years later. Each hankie is so delicately patterned like a piece of artwork. The best moment came when you added your finishing touch of the little cornerstone appliqued blocks placed on point. This was the moment when you turned what was quite a lovely top into something really exquisite. The hand stitched applique met the modern machine stitches and blended beautifully. These little blocks of vintage style fabric set off the vintage hankies in a remarkable way, somehow softening and at the same time coordinating, the larger blocks. What a terrific job you have done. Simply beautiful!
The little hand appliqued pieces truly make this beautiful quilt.
Oh my gosh-what a lovely treasure you have created 🧵🪡✂️
I have a collection of handkerchiefs so thank you for your video. 😊
Its beautiful!! Gives me ideas for my stash of hankies
Oh, my Goodness, Beth!!!! How many of us have hairloom handkerchiefs that we absolutely love!
*You are genius* (along with your friend who promted you)! Thank you so much!!!!
Wow! What a beautiful quilt top! Will you be showing us how you quilt it? I would love to see that 🥰
This brought Sweet Childhood memories of my handkerchiefs. Thanks for the idea.
I love handkerchiefs. I FORMED MINE INTO A BUTTERFLY AND QUILTED ON 12 INCH SQUARES.
Wow, Such memories could be conjured up. Great job with such delicate hankies. LOL...I sew barefoot too. How do you turn out so many projects? Amazing!
The handkerchief quilt came out beautiful
Oh Beth that is beautiful. 💚💚💚
WOW Beth WOW. You've outdone yourself. This is your best yet. Thank you
This is a keeper!!!
I have done this with gifted handkerchiefs from friends and family. You can also use dollies. Your quilt is beautiful. I love the squares at the corners.
The diamond's appliqued where the seams come together really made a big difference. Great idea! (As usual!)
I do so agree
Those square set of the handkerchiefs beautifully!
I don't think I have enough to make a quilt top this big (using what handkerchiefs I still own). Most of mine are well used. Your quilt turned out very interesting and beautiful
A new handkerchief was the perfect gift to give a teacher for Christmas when I was a child.. It was easy to fold one and tuck it in the envelope with the Christmas Card. Of course it was Mom who provided the hankerchiefs and cards (she had each of us sign the card, carry it to school, and place it under our classroom's real Christmas Tree for our teacher. I always wondered how many handkerchiefs my teachers owned. Everyone carried a handkerchief back then; because, there was no such thing as boxed tissues at that time. One of my favorite games, on the playground, was "Drop the Hankie." We were poor county children; but, everyone carried a hankie.
Check thrift stores for gently used hankies.
I do love watching your videos thank you so much for all you do
I love this! I have some vintage "hankies" that were my mom's. They are well over 50 years old. So, this will be a soon to make project. As I am already 70 years old and my children don't seem to want much of my antiques or crafting things, I need to use some of my stuff for useable items. I know they like and need bedding... I'll just make this. Thank you for sharing your ideas. Blessings to y'all.
What a beautiful quilt. Lovely as always to watch you work and such smashing vintage handkerchiefs.
Your cornerstones really set the quilt top off. Very nice.
Beth, you never fail to surprise us! Great use of resources, and cornerstone squares are a great finishing touch!
So beautiful, Beth. I love vintage handkerchiefs. You are so inventive and such an inspiration. Thank you for sharing this video. ❤😊

Thank you for showing your process! I have some handkerchiefs that are not practical to use for their intended purpose, but are too beautiful to throw out. This was just the inspiration I needed. 😊
Beautiful love it. You have the best ideas 💡.
Ohhhhhh beautiful. Now I know how I want to use the hankies given to me by my mil ! Thanks for the ideas!
Oh thanks so much for this! I have my dear mother's vintage handkerchiefs. She passed in 2014. Oh how I miss her! Now I know what to do to preserve some of her legacy. blessings!
Very pretty. And the addition of the little squares on point just makes it more fabulous😘

What a clever, beautiful way to repurpose these lovely hankies!
I should also say I am doing a memory handkerchief quilt for my nephew, whose mother passed away a few years ago, and these hankies, I have, were hers.

Also, I love the way you added the cornerstones, it does give it a different look. Thank you again
How lovely! Decades ago I collected lovely old handkerchiefs. I inserted one in sympathy cards I sent. How I wish I still had some to do this project ♥️

I wish you lived close to me here in Moore, Oklahoma to teach me in person how to make quilts. I have such a desire to learn but I’m a hands on and in person kind of gal. I watch most of your Vedic’s here on UA-cam, you have such a back of teaching. Thank you so much for sharing your talent. Joyan. 💕
Oh yes I forgot to tell you I’m 76 years old.
I will be trying this. I have many vintage handkerchiefs that I wasn't sure what to do with. Thank you!
Like your added those squares after the top was done, to look like cornerstones in the sashing. Very clever. Love it. ❤️🇦🇺
Would love to see it when it’s quilted, too.
Beautiful...
I have done this as well. I have also used antique doilies the same. So lovely they are!!
I have wanted to make a hankie quilt for years but I don't have any. I guess I will have to find some. Beth I love your quilt top.
What a great idea. My Mom is giving me some of her old handkerchiefs from when she was young. I need to pick them up and see if I have enough to do something similar. Thanks for the great ideas and videos. I appreciate it!!
You're so clever!
Absolutely beautiful! You are so creative.
This is a great idea. I have many vintage handkerchiefs that my Aunt sent to me. Most were her Mother's, born before 1900. Now I know what to do with them. Thanks Beth, you are so creative, I love watching. Take care.
Great idea to use old hankies. I have a few not enough for a quilt. Thanks for the video.

Thank you for sharing your video, I’ve had my Mothers and Aunts, as well as my own vintage hankies for a long time, and was wondering how to quilt them! A lovely idea with the corner stones. Your quilt looks beautiful 💐
I never saw such beautiful handkerchiefs. I love this quilt and I took pictures of it for my phone album so I won’t forget it.
Thank you for doing this video. I’ve had a ton of hankies for awhile, but could never think of what to do with them
Lovely quilt top Beth. I'm intrigued to see how you'll quilt it, with the appliqued hankies and on point squares.
Another stunning quilt Beth, those cornerstones were a lovely surprise f
Beautiful work. I am so proud for you.
The on-point cornerstones at the quilt block intersections adds a very nice element to your quilt top! I've always loved delicate women's handkerchiefs, but other than framing them, didn't know what to do with them. Great project, Beth!
This is such a great idea!! It is so pretty. Thank you for sharing………….
That is really nice

I have a huge amount of these hankies and this looks like a great idea. Thanks. I started using the powder basting and like it a lot.
I love this Beth. I must get out my bundle of hankies.
Absolutely beautiful!! So very inspired. (Hoping a beginner can do it) ❤️🧵
I have seen a relative using her husband's ties to make a quilt. He was a Pastor and had many. He had passed away and she was honoring him. 😊🦋💙
Gorgeous quilt.
beautiful. Great idea. 🥰😍
Hi Beth :-)) I love this quilt!! I inherited some hankies from my great grandma and have had them tucked away for a long time…I have maybe 6 will have to come up with something else to go along with these..but have definitely been inspired to start the process 💕
You could make a small wall hanging quilt with them.
Or a valance!
You can get handkerchiefs at Amazon and yard sales and Etc
Here’s a way to use fewer. I made a quilt with Lori Holt on one side for my mother’s 80th last year. The back side had a strip inserted vertically and I put a long panel of appliquéd hankies down the back. The hankies were from her mother and grandmother. She loves the hankies and dedication so much that it is the side she keeps upward on the bed so she can see them. The fabric I used on back for each side panel was Lori Holt’s hankie fabric. So fun to see Beth use the same method for a front, however the diamond cornerstones add so much!
You inspired me. I went to an antique mart yesterday and bought a dozen. But I couldn't find ones that were quite this colorful. Nevertheless, I'll work with what I have. Maybe I'll use a very light pink or blue background. I think I will tie it when I'm done. Definitely for show and not use. I have one monogrammed from 1943.
OMG I love this idea.
This is such a beautiful quilt. I've been collecting handkerchiefs for this quilt. Love it; beautiful work
I love vintage hankies and have lots of them collected. Some i used to make lavender sachets and others into little baby burp cloths with flannel backing. I can’t wait to see how you quilt your stunning creation!
Great video - I have a box of my grandmother’s hankies and need to do something with them.
Very pretty great idea, enjoy always watching your videos
Adorable. I have my mother's hankies and was wondering the best approach. Thank you.
Beth I love this quilt, it's so pretty, I liked how you added the cornerstones in the intersections of each handkerchief. This should really look even more beautiful when finished. Hopefully you will give us a look at it when you're finished? Thanks for this tutorial. And the information to purchase handkerchiefs off of Amazon. I'm going to look into that and consider making a quilt. like this for myself Thanks again.
I love this idea!
I think this is my favorite quilt ! How pretty! I will start looking for ha Ike’s at the thrift stores now
Beautiful this is the second time I’ve seen vintage handkerchief quilt tops. They certainly make a beautiful quilt. Thanks for sharing 👍❤️😊
Beth thank you so much, for the tutorial, it is what I had in mind. since talking with you the other day, regarding a handkerchief quilt, I have taken the time to look at all kinds of other quilt done with handkerchiefs, and they are beautiful. I love what you did with the handkerchiefs on white cotton I'm going to put mine on off white muslin. That little round presser foot you used is really cool I have to find one. I will let you know how it turns out, thank you for all your help and expertise.
