Thanks for visiting our beautiful Banff and Rocky Mountains. As a Canadian who lives nearby I am so glad you enjoyed yourself and survived the gondola ride.
Really felt for you, Carole. You were really brave to face your fear of heights. I know you posted to show everyone your tour and commend you for including the scenes showing how the trip on the cablecar affected you. That also took great courage. Wishing you all the very best for your future travels, which hopefully will not be as traumatic.
Banff and Jasper are my two favourite places in this world and cannot wait to return. I love sending customers there as I know they will love it. So glad you're loving it too 💜
My parents and brother emmigrated to Canada in the late 1950's and they loved it! However they came home as a Grandparent was ill, supposed to be a short visit but my Dad was subsequently diagnosed with Tuberculosis and my family were not allowed to go back to Canada, obviously. They never did get back to Canada but they loved living there - a couple of Uncles and their families were able to go back and spent the rest of their lives there, they adored it! I have a very soft spot for Canada, maybe I will make it there one day 😊
Well done Carole for facing your fears and taking the gondola ride; you were very brave. I enjoyed the visit to Banff and look forward to seeing Jasper
Watching you two going up and down the gondola was like reliving my wife’s utter fearful ride on same gondola, and me talking her down just like Paul . She had her eyes closed both ways .
We used to live in Canada 🇨🇦. We agree with Paul everywhere you look there is great scenery. However we lived in the prairies, it's a thousand miles of grass!!!! Great video and it brought back loads of memories thank you 😊
Such a great video! I live in Calgary and truly appreciate the great job you did of highlighting the best bits of Banff. I had wished you’d shown a dinner at the Royal Canadian Lodge. Some of the best meals I had in Banff was at that hotel but that was over 20 years ago when a friend of mine worked there. Also it’s Johnston Canyon not Johnson 😆. I too have an irrational fear of heights so I completely understand that feeling. I’ve been up the Gondola several times in my life and it does get a little easier but there’s tricks to doing it. Having lots of time really helps so you can pace yourself once you get up there. I can’t get too close to the edge but I can still enjoy the views. Thanks for the great video
Thank you so much Carole for this video, I have the worst fear of heights I can tell you so many scary stories, mine is extreme too. You were so brave getting in the car I couldn't have even got in it, we are going to Norway next year and believe me I'm so grateful for this video cause it made me 100% tell my hubby I'm not going on the cable car... My heart was beating in fear for you. You're a star xxx
Oh bless you Carole. I have the exact same fear and there is no way on this earth I could have gotten BACK into the gondola for the ride down. Kudos to you.
Dont know how I missed this video months ago. I lived in Lake Louise and spent lots of time in Banff in the early 1990s. Thank you for sharing all this wonderful footage. I live in the middle of the Canadian prairies now. I really miss the mountains. And well done Carole for going up Sulpher Mountain Gondola!
Having lived in Calgary for the last 35 years I tend to forget how lovely Banff and area are. I can see the mountains driving down the road. Glad you had such a good time
Greetings from Canada🇨🇦. I have had the pleasure of watching your vlogs for over a year. Courtesy of your amazing channel I have visited parts of the world that I can only dream of. With this new vlog I’m following you enjoying my country. Hearing you praise the incredible scenery that Canada has to offer makes me proud. Carole, you did so well concurring your fears on the gondola, good for you. Looking forward to your next vlog, cheerio.
Ohhhh Carole - I completely understand how you were feeling - I was breathing for you. Great job Carole🙌🏻 When I have times like this I need COMPLETE silence around me …🤐 Paul you are quite the gentle and caring support. @PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel
Carole .. I totally understand your fear of heights. I suddenly was struck with it when I was 42 and It happened while driving my UK reg car up the Stelvio Pass in Italy with my Mum and Uncle in my car. I just froze when we crossed the tree line. I stopped driving immediately and my mum and uncle wondered what was happening as there was nothing to see. I paused 10 minutes breathed heavily and managed to overcome the sudden onset. This was a one off as I have been OK ever since. I really was concerned for you Carole and totally understand.😊
I tend towards claustrophobia and to me elevators are the worst having been stuck in one twice, once in Greece and once here in Canada 🇨🇦. I sympathize with all who have a deep rooted fear.
I did the Rocky Mountaineer from Banff to Vancouver last year, starting with a few days in Calgary and ending with 4 days in Vancouver, also braved the Gondola in Banff even though I’m scared of heights. The last time I was in Canada was in 1978 whilst I was working. Always vowed I’d go back one day as a tourist. Took me 45 years but was so worth it! Beautiful country. ❤
So proud of you Carole, you did it!!! I know what those anxiety moments can be like, fortunetly I am able to take medication for it & it's helped me so much... Take care...Banff looks beautiful, the mountains, spectacular...
I'm proud of you Carole!! As someone who also experiences panic attacks, you did marvelous! Thanks for sharing your experience, it helps the rest of us to be brave also.
You were amazingly brave Carol...fear of heights coupled with maybe vertigo is a very very real thing and needs to be taken seriously. Lucky for you you had a caring loving husband to help guide you through the ordeal...Again well done. Enjoy the rest of your visit to Canada!
Such a lovely part of the world. Carole, no way would I have even attempted to get up the mountain. I share your anxiety. Plenty of beauty at the base of the mountain!! Thanks for all the great video. Looking forward to the next one!

Oh Carole, I'm terrified of heights as well and I completely understand your feet not being able to move. You should be so proud of yourself for doing that, I don't think I could have.
Glad you made it up and down the mountain in one piece, Carole! Not being able to move at the top must have been very frightening indeed. I did enjoy the flashback to the 70s with your cheese, bread and funny forks. It looked so delish!
What a magnificent place. The scenery is awesome. No wonder there’s so many tourists. Who wouldn’t want to visit Banff. Wish I could. Thanks for the tour. 😊
Susan’s.562, you have to find a way to make it up here if at all possible. It is even more glorious in person. In fact, that whole route between Calgary and Edmonton is gorgeous. Unfortunately, due to the cloudy skies Paul and Carole did not get to see the 2 lakes at their best. The water colour is even more turquoise/blue. Jasper is a treat and definitely less commercial. Just make sure to make accommodation reservations well in advance. Calgary and Edmonton are completely different from each other and most people end up being either team Calgary or team Edmonton.
@@hume6900 Well, thank you for these tips! They bump up the priority of a trip there for sure!! And will do some research about Calgary and Edmonton. Thanks for weighing in!
@@susanr.562, you’re welcome, 1 place I forgot about is a place called Drumheller, I apologize for the spelling. It is in the Alberta badlands and is renowned for their dinosaur fossils, a very very tiny church - both in physical height and number of people who could fit in, etc. Unfortunately, it is out of your way as it is in the opposite direction from Calgary. Still it’s well worth the stop if you have the time.
Oh dear, Carole, you wouldn't like traveling with us - we LOVE gondolas like this and go on every single one we can! We've ridden some really great ones in Colorado, Switzerland, Minnesota, and Alaska.
Oh fair play to you, wish I didn't have this fear as the views are fabulous. However tried to overcome it and it just didn't work. Will keep my feet firmly on the ground from now on!
Canada is so beautiful…I did an Alaskan cruise in 1995 on Cunard…there was an add on to do the Rockies…we didn’t do it..and I’ve regretted all my life…loved visiting the Totem Pole’s in Stanley Park and the Butchart Gardens on Victoria /Vancouver Island…Canadians are really friendly too ❤️…love your vlog guys ..bring so memories back. I’m terrible with heights….especially with high roller coasters (not that we do them anymore that was years ago)…I start getting the same at home even when I have to climb a blasted ladder to the top 😳
Omg the rockies were amazing, should have the vlog for that ready in a week or so. Cunard in 95. Sounds like you’ve got some cruising history behind you!
Carole, I completely sympathise with you. I’d be the same. My legs felt like jelly just watching you. I think you did amazingly considering how scared you were. Be proud of yourself. 💚💚
Wonderful vlog of Banff, the scenery is stunning. Carole you were so brave to even get in the cable car! I couldn't do it. 🤗 Looking forward to the next episode xx
You were so brave Carole!! Proud of you managing to do that! My partner suffers from fear of heights too and she wouldn't have been able to do that either! and You did it!!!
Beautiful video!! My dad had a fear of heights. He could not look out the window of a building if he was over 5 floors; but, he loved to fly even in small planes.
Well done Carole the first time i went in a cable car i was like that but the language was riper 😂 my fear is flying but we did the Canada and Alaska tour for our silver wedding anniversary (Just had 46th) Thank you both so much for bringing back such happy memories, Canada is beautiful so are the Canadian People Enjoy the rest of your holiday ❤.
You did well to get back into the Gondola to go down. Closing your eyes was a good tactic. Whatever makes you feel more relaxed as relaxing is the key. Such beautiful sights.
Great that you had a lovely time We did similar trip with Titan in September this year. Fantastic tour I highly recommended Titan as they make the whole tour very relaxing and you never need to carry your suitcases !
Should have flown with another airline. The hotel at Lake Louise is Chateau Lake Louise. Yes you are right Lake Louise was named after Princess Louise Caroline Alberta. The province of Alberta was named after her also. She was married to a Governor General. You should have researched unique Canadian food and try that. Fondue etiquette, you take the special fork put on the bread then dip in the cheese sauce. Then you put on your plate and use your regular fork to eat it. Goes for the chocolate fondue also. So you don't double dip. I have been to England.
Carole, you were so brave to go in the gondola. I have had panic attacks before and I know the feeling. The scenery and views are spectacular and your pics are gorgeous. You both are so enjoyable to watch and listen to. I love your enthusiasm. 👍😀
Good on, Carole! You were very brave. Great views, wonderful video, and really cool restaurants Kevan took you too. Surprised that Banff was so crowded. Love hearing you laugh on your videos. Those early mornings, Paulie-you were brave too!
Hi guys my husband asked me to watch your video as we did Banff , lake Louise etc back in 2010 so it was lovely to watch your video which brought back lovely memories. . Hoping to go back again with the whole family in a couple of years time . Carole you were very brave doing that cable car , I did it last time I was there but getting older has made me a bit more nervous about them so I probably wouldn’t do it again . Lovely video . Thank you 😊
I’ve never watched this video, in spite of following you for several months. The expression on Carole’s face when she took her first sip of a Caesar, was so great. I am a Caesar affectionado, and really miss having them on trips outside Canada. They try to make a similar drink in the New England area of the USA, but it’s not the same. I hate to agree you about Air Canada. The crews, and staff, are usually not up to the welcoming nature of Canadians. So glad that you enjoyed your Western Canada adventure.😍❤️👍🇨🇦
Carole, you did wonderfully. When we took the gondola my mum turned pea green, I think that was when she discovered her fear of heights. The gondolas held more than 4 people (I think either 12 or 20 people per car) and didn’t have seats. I was not quite 10 and my sister was 6. That was more than 50 years ago.
Well done Carole! Facing a fear like that is a huge achievement, and you did so so well 😃👏 Thanks for another brilliant video Paul and Carole, as enjoyable and entertaining as ever 😊 We 100% need to book a vacation to Canada ❤

Carole, I totally get it! I’m terrified of heights too!Good for you for facing your fears! ❤
Thanks Giselle! I will not be doing it again! 😆
Great that you had a lovely time We did similar trip with Titan in September this year. Fantastic tour I highly recommended Titan as they make the whole tour very relaxing and you never need to carry your suitcases !
Yes I didn’t think i(Paul) would like it being so organised but it was excellent.
Carole you were brave and courageous to go up that mountain!
Thanks, though never again!
Great job Carole! Very proud of you and I know that must have been so hard.
Thanks Barbara never again!
Thanks for taking one (two!) gondola rides for the team girl! You Rock, eh! I can scratch that off MY bucket list!!😮😬🫣🤢🇨🇦
Your set of emojis perfectly sums up the day 🤣🤣
So glad you love Canada, proud Canadian here.❤
Your country is pretty amazing and the people are ok too! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Spectacular scenery, that unfortunately brings the expected crowds but definitely worth it. So glad you loved it.
Yes it was definitely worth it, like you said if it wasn’t worth seeing know one would go there!
Hope you feel very proud of yourself Carole!
Thanks, never to be repeated!
Well done Carol, you were so brave, I just wanted to give you a big hug after going through that. The scenery was amazing though, and well worth it 😊😊
Thanks! The scenery was amazing!
Thanks Cheryl this was our first experience of fondue so wasn’t sure on etiquette 😀
Carole me and jools think you are a star, really brave. You wonderful lass.
Aww thank you! 😊
Carole, you were so brave to go in the gondola. I have had panic attacks before and I know the feeling. The scenery and views are spectacular and your pics are gorgeous. You both are so enjoyable to watch and listen to. I love your enthusiasm. 👍😀
Thanks Linda, glad you enjoy our videos! I won't be ever going in a Gondola again!
Wonderful video !! Beautiful !! Thank you !
Thanks for watching! 😍
Good on, Carole! You were very brave. Great views, wonderful video, and really cool restaurants Kevan took you too. Surprised that Banff was so crowded. Love hearing you laugh on your videos. Those early mornings, Paulie-you were brave too!
Lol thanks Cheri, Paul coped well with the early mornings! Thanks to Kevan we had some fabulous food! 😍
Hi guys my husband
asked me to watch your video as we did Banff , lake Louise etc back in 2010 so it was lovely to watch your video which brought back lovely memories. . Hoping to go back again with the whole family in a couple of years time . Carole you were very brave doing that cable car , I did it last time I was there but getting older has made me a bit more nervous about them so I probably wouldn’t do it again . Lovely video . Thank you 😊
Thats great it bought back lovely memories. We loved our time in Banff, but will never do the Gondola again! 🤣
Oh I loved my first Ceaser and have consumed many more since LOL! We had a fabulous time despite Air Canada!
You two are so wonderful!!! We've had to research and book travel because of all of your videos. Luv you guys!!
Oh thanks Frank that's great to hear!
So brave Carole, it brought me to tears to see your panic. Phobias are real.
"funny fork" on the fodue. Lol
They are real, foolishly I thought I could get over it! 🙈 lol it was a funny fork!
Well done Carol, I would be the same, you should be very proud of yourself x
Thanks Jackie!
Great photo of you guys at Lake Louise! One of my favorite places.
Thanks it is a beautiful place! 😍
Oh wow!
oooh that cheesy bread! Not sure about the meats, but then the chocolate and strawberries! What a great idea!
Yes every course was superb!
Aww Carole, I had a tear in my eye for you. You were very brave. Well done xx
Thank you so much! Never ever doing that again! 🙈
@@PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel stick to the ships love 😂
Well done Carole! Facing a fear like that is a huge achievement, and you did so so well 😃👏
