      @@ChuckinTV I have tried 16 different ones, Mini-Mag is flawless, but almost all the rest are good too. CCI Quiet and Aguila Colibri don't work at all (I didn't expect them to) and two Winchester Subsonics worked poorly. The rest including Federal Subsonic and several bulk ammo worked good also. Mine doesn't seem to mind 36gr also, I would say that almost half of my shooting has been 36gr Federal bulk (red box).

    The fact that the Glock 44 fires with no hang ups or any problems at all with this array of ammunition tell's me that its a reliable .22 semi auto pistol.

    That's how my Glock 44 ran out of the box after I cleaned and scrubbed it with a brass brush before shooting it. I will NEVER SHOOT a gun out the box before cleaning and using gun oil. Secondly, I will never use cheap ammo even if a semiautomatic pistol or rifle will run it. I have seen a lot of negative youtube reviews on this Glock 44 22LR pistol, but those folks are shooting cheap ammo and did not clean a lubricate the gun before firing like I and this dude did.

      That’s good to hear. I ordered this yesterday, but then saw some negative reviews. I’m not really a gun person, so this is my first gun. Just wanted something for home defense that is reliable given the state of the world right now. I’ll definitely clean it and get good bullets. Even the bad reviews didn’t have any issues with 40 grain. Seemed like the problem was 36 grain and probably uncleaned out of box.

    This is May, 2024 and I bought my Glock 44 this month and took it to the range. I had at least 1 or 2 lite strikes out of all 4 magazines. I cleaned it before I shot it so I don’t know what is going on with mine. When I put the light strike round back in the magazine, they would all fire. I only fired about 100 rounds but it was CCI Mini Mags and Agueila (not sure of the spelling but you know what I’m talking about and they all had lite strikes. It just might need to be shot another few hundred rounds before I send it back to Ruger. Glad you got a good one.

I didn’t need to do it with the 3 extra I bought and my buddy has one and his don’t need it either. So, I don’t think it’s product wide but for those who do have problems, try this trick and see if that solves it. After those first couple mags, it has been 100% reliable with hot ammo and Subs. Appreciate your to-the-point review. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the CCI Standard rounds cycled the slide without a hiccup. Standard rounds are great for accuracy with bolt action rifles, etc., but often don't have quite enough oomph to cycle the slide reliably on a handgun. I bought my glock 44 today. Looking forward to getting out on the range with it tomorrow.
    Edit: After 2 trips to the range and 650 rounds of several types of ammo, I have had ONE failure. A Walmart Thunderbolt didn't go bang on the first hit. The primer was struck pretty good so I rotated the round, tried again, it went bang.
    I am seeing on some other channels (22plinkster for example) that they are having some issues with the gun. I am wondering if there is some variation on the length of the firing pin, firing pin spring strength, chamber depth, or some other issue with the gun. I'm am also not impressed by any of the reviews that start out 'right out of the box' with no cleaning - might as well not watch after that. Like you, I cleaned mine THOROUGHLY before going out. So far, it has BY FAR the lowest failure rate of any of my 22 pistols.
    I recommend THOROUGH cleaning before heading to the range for the first time. In particular use a brass brush and VIGOROUSLY scrub out the chamber. Also check the firing pin and spring to make sure there isn't any factory 'grit' that would keep the firing pin from traveling completely forward.
    Enjoyed your review and, so far, really enjoying the gun!

      Kevin B Campbell I’ve never owned a Glock and probably never will. I’m sure they are great guns, I just don’t like the look or feel of them. That’s why we all have choices when it come to guns. I don’t knock them, everyone has their own taste and style! Guns are cool no matter what and I’ll never knock someone for owing a Glock or a hi point even though I’ll never own them myself. The Glock 44 is great for training if you’re a Glock person. I have seen some “Glock 44 explodes” posts online lately so look into that if you plan on buying one.

    Just bought my G44 two weeks ago. After 700 rounds of mixed ammo, not one single malfunction of any kind. Seen a lot of bad reviews, but I don't get it. This thing just eats everything I feed it. It's a Glock, enough said.

      ironhorse67 thanks for your comment and I hear your concerns there. I’ve also been on range days and have seen people get a case lodged between the eye glasses and their face and it’s terrible. If it’s of any constellation, not a single case hit any part of my body during this test. I will wear glasses (and a hat) for future reviews. Thanks!

    I'm starting to think something is wrong with my G44. I've put about 500 rounds through mine and have had multiple malfunctions and stovepipes. I cleaned and oiled the gun and used many different weights and velocities. A lot of the reviews I've seen have had similar issues. Then I watch a video like this where he has no isses with ammo that I have had malfunctions with. WTH?! I like this gun, but it's not fun to shoot when I can't get through a single magazine without a malfunction. Should I try sending it to Glock?

    • @ChuckinTV
      @ChuckinTV  4 роки тому

      TheMagicalDev Dang sorry to hear that. You don’t want too much oil on it. What kind are you using? I would say spray it down with some polymer sage scrubber again and only put oil on the slide itself where it contacts the steel and a little bit on the action itself but barely any and try again. Make sure the spring is lubed as well and cleaned of debris. Past that I would take it to your dealer first and see if they can take a look at it / send it back.

      @@ChuckinTV I am using a standard Hoppe's gun cleaner. I will take your advice and clean it again, but use some other stuff my buddy has which I believe will be better. I hope maybe it's something I did that can be fixed/ changed, and not something wrong with the gun itself. Thank you for the suggestions!

    • @ChuckinTV
      @ChuckinTV  4 роки тому

      TheMagicalDev you’re very welcome. I like the combo I use because it’s a very light oil and doesn’t create extra friction but it also has a nice solvent built in for when you want to use it as a setting cleaner that you let soak for a little while and then blast out with the polymer safe scrubber. I do that and then spray more G96 on it and then wipe that off just to give it a quick mist of oil and shine it back up

    Attention all G44 owners, inspect your firing pin sleeve. Mine has several thousand rounds through it, and it has been trouble free until now. The firing pin is hammering out the slot in the sleeve, and the plastic is curling up. You can see if yours is doing this without removing the slide cover. If you do disassemble it, and have this defect, Glock will blame you for improper disassembly...

    Drilled and tapped for a red dot sight?

    • @ChuckinTV
      @ChuckinTV  4 роки тому

      Jeremy Ortman unfortunately no. Glock has stated that adding a sight or anything could potentially change the way it operates, which makes sense being that it’s 22lr, doesn’t have a lot of power to cycle it if the person were to add a sight, however, I think it would handle it just fine myself. We will see what they roll out in the future now that this one is finally out.
