I think Izzy is the type of guy that needs some type of hate to compete at an elite level. Nothing wrong with that, but you have to pick and choose what makes sense. I’m impressed with Du Plesis performance in the fight and when Izzy came in. A man that handled that situation like he did, was a man that knows his values and lives by them. Not sure I would have handled it the same way. He never engaged and continued to praise Robert Whitaker. That was a fantastic example of being a man.

Very good point by Chael here. I'm black myself and thought Izzy was acting a fool last night after Du Plessis won. None of Izzy's behavior made sense, and frankly I found it classless. Du Plessis handled himself properly after his fantastic win against a guy nobody thought he would beat. Du Plessis is definitely in his head and didn't have to do much to accomplish that.
Agreed. The amazing thing to me is Du Pressis was able to handle himself proper immediatly after the fight. It's one thing to handle yourself when calm but his body and adrenaline were still very high and hestill maintained. This ability will servie him well.

DDP is more brilliant than realized. The exchange started when Rogan introduced Adesanya as "the great Israel..." and Dricus said "Yeah I don't know about great." Which 1. drew first blood in the exchange with the first insult, and 2. provoked an OTT emotional response that caused most of the fans to hate Izzy.
He followed that up with the "no brother of yours, son", which iconically belittled Izzy in a disrespectful way - see Usman's use of the term "son". Almost "boy", not quite.
I suspect he will get the best, gynoed up version of Izzy, hope he is ready for him.
Saddest thing about this is we may never get to see Strickland vs Izzy as champion.
