This is one of the most unique Filipino Food Mukbang ever! Talking about Filipino Culture while eating Filipino foods. Great combination and great concept! Hands down for your mom how she raised you with tons Filipino influence even if you're not living in the Philippines. I want to see Tom wearing a Barong on ur future videos.
Your mum is too cute! I lost mine about 11 years ago. Enjoy every moment you get to spend with her. I love hearing stories from my mom when she was alive.
True, noon ganon ang life sa province especially sa mga estudyante tuwing lunch sa mga puno kumakain.i like u Kim kc u let your mother share about her hardship in life as a Filipino, secondly,u are very proud of her and proud to have a Filipino blood.some half Filipino ikinahihiya nila na may dugong Pinoy.
I love your Mom, she says the truth how difficult life it was before.i heard this also with my parents ,But full of contentment and happiness is always there.thanks God He is good.God bless you.
i love how ur mom talks about her life when she was a kid in the Philippines, glad i stumble on your channel, my mom have the same experience growing up so you cant just ask for money whenever you wanted to, you have to earn it. this is making me emotional.
Mateeee, Filipino Mums and their hustles since they were young is honestly the most inspirational stories ever. Thumbs up to all filipino parents out there that continues to hustle for their family!!💕💕💕🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
I prefer rice with fish wrapped in banana leaves and then eat it on top of the tree with friends. Eating is a social event... it's not about the food but it's who you eat the food with.
Genkuro Shuriken ,it was the best experienced ,lunch break with my school mate during high school on top of the tree 🌳, to be able to do it here in UK 🇬🇧 people think I’m crazy (joke lang 🤣)
Can I just say that I love watching you, your mom and your bf together. Your mom is a sweetheart. She look so down-to-earth. She doesn't pretend to be a know-it-all Filipino unlike most of our Kababayan who have gone abroad and and has become so pretentious. Trying to hide their past and where they come from. I just love listening to your mom's stories of the hard times she had in the Philippines. Its just so inspiring. I hope you can continue to teach Tom about our culture. All the best to you. Salamat sa mga kwento mo. Keep Shining!
Your mom is amazing. I feel like I'm watching my mom too. I remember how our mom tell us stories during their young age where they have to earn money so they can go to school. I just love how you put content on your vlogs, very real and spontaneous.
Being half filipino i would definately choose the rice in banana leaves over the ham and sauce sandwhich. My husband is australian and he likes ham and sauce my reaction is the same as your mum 😆
I did the same growing up in the philippines as a kid i ate my lunch on the top of the tree with my class mates in elementary😂😂😂im 34 now and i miss my childhood it was so memorable❤️
I came across this video and I would say NAKAKA-PROUD KAYO dahil hindi kayo nakalimot sa pinang galingan ninyo. More power to you guys! Ang saya na panoorin kayo. 🤗
Found you video today Kim,nkakaproud ka,your embracing the Filipino culture.Napakagenuine mo in your vlog and your mom ,also halatang she raised you really well.Ang bait din ng mama mo at masayahin,😊
Sapin-Sapin is most famously known to be a Tagalog delicacy started by the Bulakeños. It is called Sapin-Sapin because of the layers it has made of different flavors and colors.
Kim, cant deny you are really a filipina in heart and your whole character. Tom, it will never get hard for you to be a Filipino. The jolly vibes you creates is really fitted to be one of us😊😀
Filipino family is a happy family.. But I love Sandwich with ketchup when growing up and wrapping the food using banana leaves is so so delicious the smell is just appetizing..haha
So cute.. Your mom is representing hows life in the Philippines.. How many kababayan struggling for life to achieve thier dreams, Tom is a fast learner.. Go tom KONTI na lang fluent ka na, but kim you always nailed it, keep it up to the next level
And because of this I've became one of your subscribers. So rare to see a half filipino who is born and raised in a foreign country yet still speak and understand tagalog fluently. ❤
Ang galing galing namin ni KIM at TOM! Hands down to your mom for being such a good parent. Although you are not living in the Philippines, she managed to share with you the Filipino culture.. how she have been able to teach you how to speak TAGALOG and even that little ILONGGO/BISAYA that you know. New subscriber here! 😊 Greetings straight from the Philippines!
I'm an OFW, it makes me missing my mom seeing your ilonga mother. I'm loving all your videos.. And to Tom, hey man, you're so blessed of having Filipino friends and love ones, I'm telling you!!!
OMG this is so refreshing to watch! Kim, you're literally my new fave now. Your mom is so wonderful and interesting, telling you about her humble childhood. I feel like I'm listening to one of myaunts from the province. I love her energy. I grew up in the city and I always wanted to eat on a banana leaf with my hands.. and eating it on top of a tree isn't a bad idea either! I find it so wonderful to see someone on UA-cam genuinely embracing her culture with so much joy and laughter and sharing it with others. Keep it up!
Hi mum. Its nice to remembering the past. I am an ilonggo too ang i can really relate of what you are telling to the new generation. And its really good to remember those years. Its our treasure.
The right term to Ilonggo dialect is Hiligaynon but it's common for Ilonggo's to call it bisaya but for non Ilonggo's, Bisaya is more associated to cebuano dialect which is widely spoken to Visayas & Mindanao.
I just new watching your Vlog Kim. I love your humbleness. You're not maarte! Thank you for believing the tradition of being Filipino. Your such a very good daughter to your Mom. Keep up the good works Kim!God bless 🙏👍
ang nanay mo napaka totoo I mean honest d sia mayabang kini kwento nia talaga ang pinag daanan nia ..wala siang kimi so rpoud sa pinag daanan nia...marunong lumingon very sensible..you take care madame..big thumbs up to ur mother..
I'm bisaya but a lot of the food mentioned here honestly I don't even know 😅 but I'm not ilongga, so some food here is different. I love you 3, mom kept her Filipino side well bringing you up, and you and Tom are very open to Filipino culture and have very pleasing personalities!
I had a wonderful time watching you guys eating all those delicious authentic filipino food, while your mom talk about her childhood memories growing up back in her hometown in bisaya... especially where she used to sell merienda treats to her neighbors, yelling loud so everyone could hear her... I totally could relate to her story... Listening to your conversation, brings back so many wonderful childhood memories while growing up in my hometown of Zambales, Subic Bay in the Philippines. I also experienced bringing my own food in school for recess 'cause i don't have cash/money and i can't afford to buy anything in our canteen, my nanay/mom always prepared my baon... steamed rice and paksiw na isda wrapped in banana leaf, i also have nilagang itlog to go with it, or nilagang saging na saba or kamote... boiled banana or boiled sweet yam. I also learned how to do house chores such as cooking, cleaning the house early on through mom and my aunts, as well as from my lola/grandma/abuela... The hardest house chores for me back then was scrubbing the whole floors in our house using bunot or coconut husk and floor wax to scrub those floors... Then use walis tambo after to sweep the floor too. I also help nanay or tita to sell food... viands and snacks/merienda around town and diff. streets or kalye in our hometwon or the neighboring towns, walking all afternoon under the scorching heat of the sun wearing sombrero... a hat made out of coconut leaves... I was carrying the basket while my nanay hold the bilao over her head while shouting: "Bili na kayo mga suki!"... I love my 17 years living back in the Philippines before i migrated over here in the United States of America after i finished my high school back in Subic, Zambales, Philippines... It's a hard life due to poverty but rich in love and wonderful childhood memories... I wouldn't have it any other way... It's priceless!. Btw: I admired how you and the guy beside you could converse in tagalog, and you understanding your mom's native dialect which is "Visaya/Bisayan dialect".... That's super cool!..... My mom is also born and raised in a Visayan Town in the Philippines which called CATBALOGAN, SAMAR... their dialect there is: WARAY... and i could write and speak it too, my grandma and mom taught me how... and I am so grateful for it 'cause whenever i meet Bisayan People i can understand them and could converse with them in Waray, Cebuano and a little bit in Ilonggo too... I'm also mixed/ Bi-racial kid... My mom is Filipina/Visayan & my father is American Native Cherokee Indian. ..... Thank you for sharing this cool fun video with all of us, so much fun to watch it... I truly enjoyed ot very much!. Keep 'em coming now.... Much love... James :)
I'm not Filipino, but the ladies at work are. One of them has become like a surrogate mom to me. She is always feeding me. I love it. The Filipino people are so loving and giving from the heart. However small, they will share.
I love mom and Tom's story time. I'd choose rice over anything. Rice is LIFE. Haha. Enjoyed the vid so much. Thanks to your mom for cooking all thos delicious food for the mukbang. Looking forward to your next vid. PS. Now I'm craving for fishballs. 🍡🤤
new subscriber here... I'm loving your videos....just wanted to comment this... SAPIN-SAPIN is an Ilocano dessert which means layers. It's actually my favourite dessert when I was young.
love that britlipino accent. I'm from California but have cousins who I grew up with in the Philippines in London, Oxford, Manchester and Cumbria. All nurses... :-) I can't make out your accent well but I'm assuming Southern England? Love it! Especially when your mom speaks English. She sounds like my cousins.
hope you enjoy your holiday (we say vacation) here in California. I'm in Southern California and Jolibee is in Historic Filipinotown or Carson City (where the Filipinos are at). If you're in Northern California, then it'll be at Daly City. I lived there for years and will probably remind you more of England than Los Angeles.
Yaaaasss Kim, represent our Ilonggo pride. Sagad ka na dai, praktis ka todo. Btw, see if your Mum can make laswa or KBL (kadyos, baboy, and langka). Those are pretty popular Ilonggo dishes. Your fam is just awesome and so cute. Go Tom and go Nanay.
When I was 9yo, our family was so broke I can't even afford to buy food from the school pantry. My brother would walk from house to school, bring me steamed rice and dried fish wrapped in banana leaf and we would eat together during lunch time inside the class room. My classmates would stare and I would feel embarrassed. But, stories like this one makes me look back and appreciate the hardships. I am so thankful for how strong our family is especially mama and papa.
hahahaha ,relate much gid me ..naagyan ko gid na tanan ang ginapang esturya sang mama ya kasadya lng sang life sang una ah kahilidlaw GOD bless sa inyu nga tatlo..
I've been watching your videos since last week and I am very happy cause I see how you raised your country I mean you're really proud of having filipino blood, your so beautiful not only in the outside look but also inside, keep it up girl, keep on raising your country's beautiful side ❤️
ang cute ng mama mo kim shes very sweet.. like she said nong nagtinda siya ng mga kakanin sa street.. lahat ng poor kids or even middle rich kid naranasan namin magtinda at sumigaw sa street namen.. masaya kasi batang 90's ako hehehe love watching your channel
Your mom story warms my heart! I will also have "baon"but we have Tupperware. And my mom was a teacher in a barrio and I have seen all kinds of people and you would see who only have rice and guava ( which is a small one that they will call bubot) But they are all happy eating. And that is what I love about our culture everybody is happy and have contentment in life.
I can relate to mommy. Because I used to do that when I was a little kid. Wrapping my rice with ginamos if we don't have ulam then we ate it in top of the mango tree. So I would rather choose the banana wrapped rice with any kid of ulam with it rather than having a sandwich bun with katsup and ham. By the way I love your Nanay Kim. Katulad mo din sya na hindi maarte.
Taga Negros Oxidental si papa ko! This is so freaking cool! Watched your “Speaking Tagalog for a full day” video two days ago and have not stopped watching your videos since then, new subscriber and I’m enjoying it! Hafa Adai from the island Guam! 🌴🌺🇬🇺
My mon and dad used tell us their experiences when they were little and its just so humble to hear their stories. My mom used to bring her lunch on a banana leaf at school just like your mom. Try to visit the Philippines damo diri nami na beach
I like your Mom. Her stories back when she was young makes me feel nostalgic because back on my elementary days, we would wrap our lunch with banana leaf too and we sometimes go to the river with a concrete bridge and eat under it. haha
ur mom is amazing..i can really relate to her..when i was growing up,me and my brother just walk going to school and the only way to enjoy walking going to school is to keep on kicking tin cans,at least that way we forget about the distance..hahaha..but the real reason is,we just dont wanna spend the money mum gave us as fare for the tricyle ride going to school..and for our lunch,we walk again to go home to have our lunch, that way we dont have to spend money for lunch..hahaha..those were the days..ang galing na ni tom mag tagalog..mwahahahaha
I adore this woman!! She's not maarte in any way, shape, or form. ❤️❤️❤️
I agree..Such a kind hearted lady..
totoo...
Yeah alam mo yum.. mukha syang maarte.. pero hinde hahahaha
Oo sosyal xa pero di maarte at di niya kinakahiya na half filipina xa db
That's why I am following her...
nakakatuwa si Kim, ang bait nya halatang napalaki ng maayos ng mama nya. si tom nakakatuwa kase nakikisabay sya sa culture ng mga pinoy.

I love your Mom! She’s very true to her roots. 💕
Filipina here watching from Texas 😍
Your mom story warms my heart! I will also have "baon"but we have Tupperware. And my mom was a teacher in a barrio and I have seen all kinds of people and you would see who only have rice and guava ( which is a small one that they will call bubot) But they are all happy eating. And that is what I love about our culture everybody is happy and have contentment in life.

Egg on eggplant amazing😂 new subscriber hre from ireland
We call it "tortang talong"..
Bedj Huesaff it’s eggplant omelette
Torta = omelette
Talong = eggplant
Now you know...
it's so good, one of my favorites. great for breakfast. so good with banana ketchup.
Bedj Huesaff u can try egg with eggplant it's so nice😊
I love your mom ❤️ she reminds me so much of my mom! And I absolutely love listening to her stories about her life in the Philippines
I enjoy watching you guys! next vlog pls.
Try to visit the Philippines damo diri nami na beach
i love watching your vids with your mom! always miss my mama watching them. and surprise that she is from negros! i am too! kisses to you mama! 😘
Your mom has a very good story growing up. At least now she can afford everything that she wants. Lovely.
FILIPINOs UNITE!
I like your Mom. Her stories back when she was young makes me feel nostalgic because back on my elementary days, we would wrap our lunch with banana leaf too and we sometimes go to the river with a concrete bridge and eat under it. haha
Ill go with wraped in banana leaves seating and eating on the top of the tree.... 🤣🤣🤣
I'm proud being ilongga..i'm really happy to your video with your mom miss kim. God bless you always and your family!
1st!!hahaha..i love u guyz!!! kabalo ko mag ilonggo pero im from cebu..hahaha..
ur mom is amazing..i can really relate to her..when i was growing up,me and my brother just walk going to school and the only way to enjoy walking going to school is to keep on kicking tin cans,at least that way we forget about the distance..hahaha..but the real reason is,we just dont wanna spend the money mum gave us as fare for the tricyle ride going to school..and for our lunch,we walk again to go home to have our lunch, that way we dont have to spend money for lunch..hahaha..those were the days..ang galing na ni tom mag tagalog..mwahahahaha
N
I love your Mum, she's not pretentious at all !
