As a foreign raised Filipino I'm overwhelmed by how amazing his Tagalog is and I dont think I'd be able to speak that well.
So I basically just watched over 40 of your videos and now I'm hooked. Time to go watch Shanta's videos. Love the work Dwaine, definitely learning loads from you

Being bisaya, I can speak English, Tagalog, Hiligaynon, and Cebuano...also learning ilocano(my wife from San Fernando,LU), and Nihonggo. But I really salute thiis guy, not just a linguist but a great personality. Thank you Dwayne for loving Philippines and giving us good vibes.

This is great, I work with a lot of people in Manila and I taught myself a few phrases so I could speak to them in their native language out of respect. Over the last year they've all had a good laugh at me trying to learn/google translate stuff to them.

This is the first video I have ever from you. I'm new and once I heard you speaking in Tagalog, I instantly got the impression that you learned it in your mission. I knew you are LDS once I saw this video. I accidentally clicked your video and I'm glad I ended up watching the whole thing! Some of the words I understood because Spanish is my first language (I'm Chilean) and I live in the United States.

I’m ethnically filipino and I speak french, ukrainian and russian but I don’t think people were that surprised when i lived in europe interacting with respective locales. I got some few intrigued Canadians tho when i finally returned home to Toronto. Point is, people learn languages and can be successful with it. Nothing is surprising there.
