I am a 70 year old woman with no repair knowledge or skills, but I can’t stop watching these videos. Why,I don’t know except that I find the skill displayed (without talking) is amazing. Please keep them coming.
Great job on your old knife!!! You gave it another 100 years and hopefully no more wars. It is now a touchstone for future generations. I love seeing items like this knife being restored and reused instead of retired. Well done sir!!!
It amazes me how many people are critical of the efforts of others. I find that people who criticize almost always have zero uploaded videos. So, they don’t have the ability to make a video, much less make it public, but have no problem telling someone all the things they think they did wrong. Right? That’s what is really wrong with this world. Imagine what available videos would be to watch if we just stopped making videos?
Its EDC days are clearly over (and there are better options nowadays), so I like the fact that you kept it original. That way it still shows how much usage people then were ready to milk from 1 blade. And I've seen worst - even more eroded - blades, so I'm pretty sure it was not ditched, rather lost in that trench. Had you changed the blade for a new one, that history would be lost. It's probably going to spend the next years in a drawer or exposed on shelves anyway, but at least it still has something to say.
Really good restoration. I love how you kept the original patina, age, and wear, while removing the dirt and rust. My only suggestion would be to sharpen it!
@@TornWoodRestorer I have also old German knife , but don't it manufacture year. But I want to say that this video is the best video I have ever seen related to old knife. Thanks friend for sharing
Wow! There isn't much there to start with! Considering the volume of good, cheap knives still coming out of China, is it worth the time and effort to restore a knife that is constituted of four (?!) components, where the blade is sincerely eroded beyond the usable edge? Were I to attempt a restoration, I'd start with a new blade; the rest is only packaging.
@@TornWoodRestorer Fair enough! Were it mine I'd carry it at times, just on principle, and if I carried it I'd use it. Is there enough edge on that century-old blade to open a letter or cut tape on a box? Just askin"!
