Thanks a mill for your wonderfull content. Just finished changing my 2015 xls ranger glow plugs following your videos. Its back on the road. I freaked out a bit when it started the first time then cut off. Tried to restart several times with no luck. Somehow I got the idea that it must be fuel, so I started pumping a bit on the accelerator and it worked. 🇿🇦
Thank you for sharing your experience on this topic I have followed every step of the way with your process from cleaning and replacing the glow plugs on my Ford Ranger 2015 PX2 🤙🏽👍👍 it’s working perfectly the engine performance is just what I expected God bless you mate keep up the Awesome work 🙌🙌🙏🙏
@@user-music4u had an error code but not a check engine light. I replaced during summer but if it was cold would have hard cold starts and poor running when cold.
Have you installed any other brands of glow plugs? I replaced mine with ngks and it seemed to of not used all of the thread compared to the geniune ford ones. Px2 ranger. Its all running sweet but..
@@yoelluna7306 thanks. I put a scan tool on and it said number one glow plug wasn’t working (no check engine light). When I removed them, it was actually number 5 that had failed
@Giovanni-gj9db Ok. It's rare for that to happen. I used Forscan, and the scanner showed the correct spark plugs. Anyway, to take advantage of the disarmament, I replaced all 5 of them.
Thanks for the great video, quick question, I’ve been told sometimes the glow plugs will be seized. If I get to taking them out and they feel stuck what do you recommend? A few people say wd40, but in not sure about putting any substance down there. Would you recommend using anti seize on the new glow plugs when installing? Thanks
Low rpm doesn't really save you fuel, it's about load. But I have a 2014 3.2l bt50 and I normally get about 9-10L/100 that's mostly driving in the suburbs and also towing between 1-2 tonne. On the highway you can get easy low 8s without towing anything.
Standard wheels and tyres I used to get 29-30mpg mixed driving if I was light on the accelerator from my 2012 manual. My friend has an auto and struggles to get above 25-26mpg
What do mean hard starting if a car have glow plug problems? Is it happend during first start only then becomes ok after engine already run and warmed up? Or it happends during everytime you start the engine? FYi, I have a ford ranger 2.5tdci auto year 2008. Everytime i want to start it i must press the accelerator a little bit for like 1.5 to 2 rpm and after the start i will release the accelerator after 5 to 6 seconds so it will stay running. If not, after 2 or 3 seconds after start, the engine will shuts off. Is that a glow plug issue?
I’m experiencing low power at low rpms for my 3.2 ranger, this is after my intake manifold and Egr was cleaned. It was fine for a month or so. Now it’s really low power. Could it be the glowplugs? No check engine light on as well though
Hey mate, do you have your own workshop? Just wondering if my glow plugs go bad id rather go to you than have the displeasure of taking that POS inlet manifold off again!
Hey Killa....I just want to say thank you for all of your uploads. They are really helpful. Much appreciated 🙌🏻👍🏻

B4 changing glow plugs.. what is the symptoms?

Got a set I need to do next week thanks for the video mate 👍
Have fun
Ya know the feeling of driving away from a workshop asking yourself if you paid for a genuine problem or your lack of knowledge.
Hey mate according to the Haynes Manual torque setting for the glow plugs is 12nm.
Is there a millage recommendation for changing the glow plugs? Thank you very much.

Muchas gracias 🫂 por los vídeos
Hey mate do you know if cylinder 2 glo plug can cause the car to go into limp mode if faulty? Cheers
Unlikely
Yes just had a customer in a 3.2 auto p5at with no 2 glow in limp mode come into the shop
Very informative... I'm inspired
Cheers
Does anyone know if the check engine light comes on if there is a glow plug failed? Cheers for the great video. I’m doing mine next week.👍
In my case the check engine light did not come on and I had 3 burnt spark plugs. En ford Ranger.
I only noticed using the scanner

Great video thank you, how long does the job typically take for someone who is pretty handy mechanically please?
if you have never done it before allow 2-3 hrs
Thank you - much appreciated
Thanks for the video. How long would the whole procedure take normally if replacing all?
A good couple of hours.
Thank you so much for the great video!!
Quick question what is the best real world fuel consumption you can get out of a 3.2, driving at low rpm?

I don't generally drive for economy but those numbers above are accurate
A 100 kmh - 13,7 km x litros de combustible!! Saludos desde Argentina!

Great vid mate , thanks

glow plugs help when the engine is cold. if this is happening during a hot restart then its another issue

I'm experiencing the same problem right now sir can you share to me how did you fix it?
Can carbon build up cause stalling?
Yes but it’s unlikely. You may have another issue going on
Hey mate, do you have your own workshop? Just wondering if my glow plugs go bad id rather go to you than have the displeasure of taking that POS inlet manifold off again!
I have a private garage that operates part time. Not taking outside work
Your vid started in the middle after you have removed the manifold and others, poor vid
The link the the intake removal was in the video. Here it is ua-cam.com/video/YM96y1YWNPY/v-deo.htmlsi=I0rgX227o4TR_U5w
If you need to see that part of the video you probably shouldn’t be under the bonnet in the first place, maybe get your wife to take a look for you!
@@jefflangdon3540haha awesome 👏
