I've now found a much better way to cover my patch.....💧Transparent waterproof dressing amzn.to/49JlYyd
I never would have known!
Did not know!!! I take the hormone pill,, listen we all learned something & that's what important 🤗🐾🙏
🧐
🤪
This should be a clear, bold faced warning printed on the package… if it isn’t… we don’t find this funny at all. Thank God you were informed!
Not stupid AT ALL! If the patch is waterproof enough in the shower, who would know it’s not waterproof in the pool, lake etc 🤷🏽♀️ Thanks for the heads up. Those of us without a pool in the backyard now know for vacations etc. Thanks for being vulnerable Renee and educating those of us who didn’t know as well.
I’ve been on the exact same patch for the last 15 years you can swim with it I always have I put the cover on it and I’ve never had a problem. I promise!
It would also be really nice if our physicians would’ve informed us more! It’s not stupid at all
@@dogwalker2909 I completely agree Thanks Renee for being super vulnerable and yet so considerate which in turn is helping us all out 🥰
I experienced surgical menopause at 42 and I had no idea about that. I’m now 56 and have been in hormone replacement this whole time and never knew that. We all learn something new everyday 😊
Me too! I didnt know this. Had complete hysterectomy in 2010. Now am 56 and been on estradiol patch since 2010. Have had several different docs over the years who rx the patch and none mentioned anything about patch not being waterproof! I take baths often rather than showers and have a pool!
Did the patch help you guys. I'm trying to help my wife. She's scared of HRT pills because of blood clots
@@AttentiveFinish. Checkout Dr.Felice Gersh and Dr.Robert Mathis……im 73 & on Estradiol patch, testosterone cream & progesterone pills (at bedtime). She needs estradiol for aging, heart, mind & bones……if she’s been through menopause…….even if a woman has had breast cancer, she needs estrogen……studies show a woman does a lot better not having breast cancer return if she gets on estradiol. Hope this helps……no blood clots
@@christinahurt7505. I started putting patch above my left boob & upper shoulder……my dr looked up sites & it showed shoulder, upper arm & other sites.
@@AttentiveFinish Transdermal estrogen doesn't increase blood clot risk. Oral estrogen, which the liver metabolites, does.
You are certainly not dumb. How would you know if nobody tells you! Glad you got it figured out!
How the heck would you know that? I wouldn't have known that either.
It is in the instructions on the package. But also, my doctor told me not to get it wet.
Ok, I’m a retired nurse, worked OBGYN 10 years, TVH followed by estrogen patch for 11 years……….never knew this. I thought it was water proof, too 🤷🏼♀️
That’s because this is not true and I’ve been on it for almost 2 decades you can swim with it on. I always have they do make covers.
@@KatieJoMikell covers ?
@@KatieJoMikell what do you mean this is not true? Clearly swimming with her patch not covered caused her patch to lose its effectiveness. Once she put a waterproof bandage on it, her symptoms returned to normal.
@@jillcooper6740 I’ve been using an estrogen patch for decades, and swimming does not effect it. The patch manufacturers and my GYN all agree with this. What does “drain” the estrogen faster is excessive heat -- so saunas, hot jacuzzis, and even a high fever.
Can you take off a patch to swim or does that effect the patch? I’m
Wondering this myself….
I have worn an HRT biweekly patch for the past 22 years after a hysterectomy. I live in Florida, our development has a pool, and I swim 3-5 times per week. I also frequently take Epsom salt baths. I have never had an issue with my patches getting wet in a pool or from taking a bath. I looked it up on line and read the HRT instruction sheet, both said you can take a shower, take a bath and swim with this patch.
Thanks for commenting this. I’m just starting the patch and live in Fla. I have a STP that I do use. I can’t imagine making a patch that isn’t waterproof.
I live in Florida and swim daily in my pool too.
I’ve not had any issues with my estrogen patch.
I even asked several doctors including functional doctor and they all said it doesn’t affect the dosage or the patch. ❤
Yes however it affected her patch. Perhaps her patch had less adhesive or some kind of barrier to it .. or depends on her skin type maybe if someone has more oily skin, the patch perhaps doesn't stick as well to it . Just because something wasn't the experience of one person doesn't mean that is the rule that applies to everyone else's experience. Just like just because one person isn't allergic to peanuts or a certain cream, doesn't mean that everyone else should not be allergic to peanuts or a certain cream. Glad though seems like your patch is done in your pool.
Also some pools have more chlorine than others , and some pools are saltwater pools , or warm temp versus cold temp... all of this can effect things differently
Why can't you take it off before showering or going in the pool, then put it back on?@@bubblesbubble5264
Renee, I’ve have been using an estrogen patch for about four years now and I had no idea that it isn’t waterproof since we can wear it in the shower🤷♀️ Thank you for sharing this. I don’t have a pool but in the colder months, we use our hot tub daily.
Now you know!!! 😊
Renee, Iv been in this alone and no women I know talk about it. Im so grateful that you shared this. Im having all these symptoms and looking into taking ERT and a stranger mentioned this patch. I turned 50 last week, and not married with children. I got curls and love baking and really resonate with you. You are such a great woman to everyone.
Thank you for all your information about estrogen patch. I've been having a hard time making a decision on starting on the patch. Love your videos .
I cover my patch too! Tip: go swimming or hot tubbing on switch day, put on new patch afterwords.
Thank you for sharing your story. None of us have gone through menopause before so any information is helpful and I appreciate you.
I looked at the FAQ (on GoodRx) on the Estradiol patch and the answer to the question “Can I swim or take a bath while wearing the patch?” is “It depends. You shouldn’t swim, take a bath or use a sauna if you use the once-weekly version of the estradiol patch, as this could affect how your body absorbs the medication. These activities are safe to do if you use the twice-weekly patches.”
So an alternative to applying the bandage on top, is to use the twice-weekly version in the summer and switch back to the weekly in non-swimming weather.
I’m not yet in need of the patch, but not too far behind you, Renee. Sorry that you had to learn this the difficult way, but THANK YOU for sharing so that others can learn it before issues arise. You’ve helped many! ❤
I’ve started reading the full drug inserts - those papers with the tiny print - because they reveal interesting and helpful information. I wish pharmacists and docs had enough time to review all the details with us on our meds, but they don’t. I’ve caught some other “mistakes” this way. I’d rather take the 5 minutes and magnifying glass out than find out the consequences of not knowing later. I’ll give you an example: my simple allergy med (Allegra aka fexofenadine HCl) shouldn’t be taken with fruit juice because the juice inhibits absorption of the drug to a very high extent. Imagine spending that money and time trying to fix your allergy symptoms but inadvertently sabotaging it because you took it with your morning juice. Knowledge is power! 🤓
I use the once weekly patch and my pharmacist said it is not affected by swimming as the patch is completely waterproof. I'm really unsure now what the truth is.
Needs further looking into.
@@Kim-ek7xy I always trust the drug inserts, like Das said. The pharmacist is a single human with the power of one brain, he/she does not know everything and if anything like me they can totally remember something wrong. The inserts have to be correct or the product producer gets sued into oblivion.
I used the estrogen patch for several years and it just became a nuisance. Next was a measured dose spray inside the elbow, next a cream. Finally, I went to compounded pill (Mexican wild yam and two types of bioidentical estrogen). By far, the easiest for me and works the best. I bet you switch down the road. My HRT has helped my joint pain so much, my energy and my mood. I noticed the difference when I went off for one year. I love my HRT❤
Please tell me which brand you buy as I am very interested.
so is the pill safe n doesn’t cause blood clots?
@@butterflyblusoapstudio my doctor says the studies are not clear. I’m extremely careful with my self care. I don’t get overweight (no processed food whatsoever, no sugar, moderate protein, lots of olive oil, exercise, rebound everyday for lymphatic system, no vaccines! I am so glad you posted this video! How could it be dumb if they tell us we can wear it in the shower? I think A LOT of us got an education by watching this! Thank you Renee! We have a vacation planned and I need to buy those waterproof band aids!
Thank you for making this video. I am sure there are other women that didn't know this either. Glad you're doing well and figured it out! 🙂
🤣I had no idea!!! But I'm so glad I figured it out because I'm drastically better now 😊
Renee! You are NOT stupid. I would of presumed the same thing that the patch would of been water proof. I'm glad you had the issue fixed. Menopause symptoms are no fun. I didn't laugh at you either! You are a special good person. Thank you for all of your posts on your life. You have helped me with flower tips, household ideas and I just plain like who you are! Take care dear. ❤😊
I have to laugh at myself.....glad my story was helpful for you. Have a great day!
OMG. Just started hrt and it worked great the first week. I went swimming the 2nd week and thought it wasn't working. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you so very much, from a Floridian who swims with an estradiol patch. I didn't know until today. Went and bought my waterproof bandaids today. You are the best!
You're not silly or stupid. I've worked in healthcare for over 40 years, and I never would've thought that the patches weren't waterproof. Your family doctor sounds like a gem; shame on your gyn/surgeon who failed to tell you about the crucial contraindication for the patch. Pharmacists are the best source of information about meds; whenever you get a new prescription filled, you should ask the following: 1) Is there anything I shouldn't be doing/eating/taking while on this medication?, and 2) Are there any side effects I should be on the lookout for?
🤪 I would have never thought of it not being waterproof being you shower with it on. I am 64 and had to have a total hysterectomy at 30, I was also given a patch to wear, but after several years on the patch my doctor took me off of it and said I was through menopause. So I was shocked to find out that your doctor said your high cholesterol was hormone driven. I never had a problem with cholesterol until after I was taken off the patch, I currently take 2 medications to keep mine down, not perfect but down. I will definitely talk with my doctor about this. Thanks so much for sharing your information. Also, no one told me coming off HRT would cause me to age faster..
They tell you you can bathe with it, so I would assume too, that you could swim with it.
U gotta get back on HRT. Or go to Dr Claire Haven videos to find out the most accurate info. Good luck. U need estrogen.
@@fayegibson1729 you should absolutely still be on hormones. You might want to look into a new Dr. I wish these Dr would further their education in menopause. Also, your cholesterol is going up because your body needs it to function. Sex hormones make cholesterol so they are trying extra hard to make cholesterol with what you have left. I know women well into their late 70's still on hormones and feel great!
I am so thankful that you posted this video. I am about a month behind you on my journey and have mirrored your experience in a lot of ways. I am also on the Estradiol patch and I had no idea that you couldn't go swimming with it! I would never have known, so I am so grateful to you for sharing this. And thank you for sharing your whole hysterectomy journey. 🙏🏻 It has been a great help to me.
You are so welcome! 💗
I was wondering about this!!! I'm so glad to have stumbled across your video. I had no idea it wasn't swim proof.
Just got my first patches today. My doctor said nothing about them not being waterproof and I swim a lot. You likely saved me a lot of time and frustration. Many thanks!
I can't believe nobody told you about covering the patch when they prescribed it for you. What about people who like baths? It seems like something that should have been told to you by your doctor. I would have foolishly made the same assumption so it's not foolish at all. Thank you for warning the rest of us. You look beautiful and youthful and radiant. I'm glad the patch is working so well for you!
I’m new to the patch and I take daily baths. I wear it higher up by my shoulder blades. But I really don’t like the brand of my patch. It’s HUGE. A bandaid would definitely not cover it. Going to see about switching brands.
Goodness, your hair is incredibly gorgeous!
Your skin looks amazing!
Well that was a cautionary tale for sure Renee 🥰 Not at all silly, it will be helpful for others on HRT patches. I’m so impressed with the quantity of sleep you have since being on the patches. So essential to overall health 🧡
Renee - I was not laughing at you. I take the same patch and had NO IDEA that we could not swim in the patch. While I am not in the pool near as frequently - I have definitely swam without covering mine. So THANK YOU for this wonderful tip!!! I mean if you can take a shower in them it seems like you could swim in them. Go figure!
Same! But I think that being in the shower the patch isn't submersed for a long time. Water just runs over it.
Fantastic video, especially for all of us estradiol patch newbies! Thank you
I’ve never worn a patch but if I did, I’m sure I never would have known this! Not dumb and in fact, very wonderful that you are so willing to share your experiences with everyone ❤❤
I lived in FL on the beach after my surgery and this is so spot on and the doctors are clueless about this big time.
Holy crap!!!!! 😮 I had no idea girl, I go swimming all the time in mine!!!!😂😂😂
Thank you soooooo much for doing this video!!!❤
Me too!!!!! Know we know.....just get the waterproof bandaids and problem solved!
But wait, have you been getting your hormones?
Good thing you found out about this mishap now. Glad you're feeling better. Your video will help many I'm sure. I never had symptoms that bad when I had menopause. If I had night sweats I just changed clothes and went back to sleep. I was working at a job during those years and I was tired because of lack of sleep. Symptoms lasted at least 15 years. I'm not bothered anymore and I'm still young. I find it important to walk. I walk my dog twice a day. I keep busy in kitchen. I like to work with crafting. Always keep moving at some point. Sitting is good too. That's when I work on knitting, crochet, sewing just for an hour . You'll be ok don't worry. It gets better in time.
Oh Renee! I just started on the same patches and had NO idea. Thank you so much for sharing this!!
Hi! Just thanking you for this video. You called yourself silly here a few times, and I just want to say that I don't think you are. Nobody told you not to swim in the patch, and that is absolutely a doctor's responsibility to tell you something like that. And a pharmacist's, too. I am just getting ready to start HRT myself, and I have asked so many questions of a few different docs. And not ONE of them told me this incredibly simple, but incredibly important thing. And I'm a swimmer. So, if I hadn't seen your video, ABSOLUTELY the same thing would have happened to me, and I might have never, ever have known why it wasn't working. I can't thank you enough.
I use the same patch and I have been going to water aerobics not realizing that I should cover the patch! Thanks for sharing this helpful information! Btw, you’re not stupid you just didn’t know! 😊
Hello, Renee! I know this is an older video, but I'm just seeing it now, and I have to add-- you're NOT dumb for not knowing this; how *could* you know what you don't know?! In fact I'd say the opposite--it strikes me that you are the SMART one for even thinking to ask if swimming could be the issue. Kudos to you for figuring this out! And, of course, thanks much for this tip. :-)
Thanks for this information. According to Menopause Taylor, we should be on .05 to prevent serious health problems in the future.
Yes! Menopause Taylor changed my life! My doctors NEVER helped me with my HRT needs…they bought into the fearmongering done by the WHI.
Going In to talk to my GYN this week. I am almost a full 10 years out from menopause and I am afraid it may not be beneficial for me now. I feel a whole two decades of women have been lost. It’s just sad. 😢
I have been on estradiol patches for more than two years. 0.05. I take baths every day and I have bloodwork regularly and my estradiol level is exactly where it’s supposed to be.
@@ddmontg3402 there are several gynecologists on UA-cam that discuss HRT for women more than ten years post menopause. It is safe , it is effective, it is recommended. I believed Menopause Taylor when she said "the ten year window of opportunity is all you have". Now, I believe the several other gynos that say otherwise. Check for yourself, listen to multiple sources, then make your own decisions. Best wishes.
@@ddmontg3402 same here! I just started. My doc said I may not get full full benefits as if I started right when peri menopause started but I WILL definitely get benefits. Have no fear and eager to sleep better and have the other benefits as well
I have worn patch for decades (married to a physician) and NO one has ever told me about covering patch! I do not swim but love to take long hot baths---bet I need to cover. Thank you for sharing.
Happened to find your channel today. Thanks for the information! I’m going to visit my sister in FL next weekend and I know we’ll be in the pool a lot!
There’s no way I would have known this. I actually swim twice a week! I’m starting HRT patches next week after a recent TAH. Thank you for this great video!
OMGoodness! I LOVE LONG SOAKS IN THE TUB!!! I had no idea my patch isn't waterproof.
I remember my mom needed to use "Tegaderm" films over her IV port. They sell them on Amazon in different sizes. They're SUPER thin like a second skin and completely clear. They should be perfect for this. 🤦🏻♀️😌
Body temperature water from a bath wouldn't harm the patch, but hot water does drain the medicine very quickly. I can’t usually get them to re-stick well if they fall off, but if you can remove it before a bath and get it to stick back on after, that would be your best bet. A tepid bath wouldn’t do much for me!
@@04Serena ooooo good to know!!!! Thank you!
Thank you!!!! I ran across your channel on my feed. I just started the patch 2 weeks ago and just opened our pool. I’m so glad I found your video. ❤
I used to be on the patch but then, for some weird reason, I started to have a rash type reaction so I switched over to estrogen cream. I apply it to my upper arm area and alternate arms every day! This could be an option for women who don’t want to wear the patch. 😊
Absolutely yes!!! I could use the cream in the winter.....but I'm in water too much in the summertime for it to be effective for me. But it's a great option!
@@WelcomeToMyCurls Well, who would know you can't use cream in the water, either? If you're stupid, then so am I!
I absolutely love you and your videos! You are so down to earth and honest! I could actually watch your videos everyday 😅! Keep them coming and have a blessed day.
Thank you!!! Have a great day!
I would have thought the same thing! If you can shower, you can swim. You are not alone in thinking that.
I am a medical doctor and I didnt know. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
That is so good to know! I am very happy with the pellet implant but if I ever have to use the patch I’ll remember that.
I AM SO GLAD YOU DID THIS VIDEO. I WAS HAVING A HARD TIME KEEPING MY PATCHES ON BETWEEN SHOWERS, BATHS, AND LAKE TIME. I NOW USE YOUR METHOD WITH THE WATERPROOF BANDAGES.

I've worn my estrogen patch in the hot tub 1-2 hours every night with no problems for over a year. I have noticed glue quality on my square patch is slightly better than my round patch. You need to exfoliate and then clean the skin where you're going to put your patch with alcohol before putting your patch on
The pharmacy who filled the prescription Should have made sure you knew… not your fault.!! Glad your now ok!!🌺
I just picked up my 1st Rx of patches today. The only thing the pharmacy said to me was a question, “are you pregnant?” I said no I’m post menopause 🤣. Other than that said nothing else to me.
OMG 😮 thank you. My gyno never informed me of this. I got tub at least twice a week. You just helped me.
Same - why don’t they tell women?
Great tip - i've been on the patch for a few years and have avoided hot tubs as I assumed it would cause it to come off - so I appreciate knowing about the waterproof bandaid!
Thank you so much for this video! I just received my estrogen patch, and I would have never known to cover it when swimming!!!! I do appreciate you sharing!
I'll be in my pool this weekend and will absolutely cover my patch :)

Thank you for sharing this great top. I just started my hrt tonight! So happy you came up on my feed. ❤
You're so welcome!
The insert that comes with the estradiol transdermal patch twice weekly says swimming doesn’t affect the patch. Multiple doctors and pharmacists have said the twice weekly is not affected by swimming or showering.
I had no idea! Thank you for sharing this!
Happy to help!
Thank you for sharing as you are speaking I’m putting my 1st patch on. I also have a In ground pool I will remember this for next summer ❤
You're not stupid, but the manufacturer and probably the prescribing dr. as well should have made that clear. Jeez, menopause is confusing enough without the "professionals" making it harder on us. Laurie
So nice to know. I would have assumed as well. The PCP's or pharmacy should go over all of these things. Thank you for sharing.❤

Thank you for this video! I’ve been taking estradiol pills for 18 years since my hysterectomy at aged 40. My doctor wants me off the pills and we’re looking at the patch. The doctor might have laughed at you, but if nobody told me about not swimming with the patch, I would probably have done it too. This has been so beneficial!!! Thank you again!
The pills don’t ever really work as well.
I found the gel sandrena gel the best for me.
But we are all different.
@@deirdrewalsh1134 I’m doing well with the patches now.
Don't take responsibility for the manufacturer of the patch - they should have clearly pointed that out on the back of the box or the insert. Also, your doctor's and their staff are negligent for not telling you how to apply it and maintain it. You did everything correctly. I think all of us would have done the same as you. I am sure your doctors who live in the same climate as you and probably all have backyard pools and should have known that you did also and should have instructed you accordingly. You should write the manufacturers a letter to suggest they make a waterproof patch for people to use who swim in a pool or go on vacation and swim in the ocean or a hotel pool. Glad everything is back to normal for you.
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences. I was wondering what was happening and thought it was the different manufacturer of the patch. This video answers all my questions. It’s one of those I wish I had known moments.
I would never thought of that either, Why didn't the doctor ever tell You that!!!

Hi Renee, I was on the same patch at one time and it didn’t seem to help much, but I take a lot of baths. Now I’m questioning whether or not I was absorbing it. I’m on an estrogen cream topically and still not sleeping well. I may have to go back to an oral pill. Thank you for sharing 💕💕💕
I just bought a flexible waterproof dressing… I’m still in the research phase… not sure if this comment will help, but hope so. Not affiliated but I chose 3M 1624w because it’s what I had and seems to fix perfectly for my patch but I haven’t had this enough to know
After 2 years of trying various things to help my fibroid issue, I decided with my doctor that a hysterectomy will be the best route for me. I’ve been a ball of emotions. However, I’ve found your page and you’re already helping me feel a little better about this decision. Thank you for sharing your journey with us!
@Sade09, I had my fibroids removed years ago & I don’t regret it at all. I’ve been on the estrogen patch for a little over a year. I use them off & on cause my skin seems to be allergic to it. It itch & it leaves a mark on my tummy. I have to use vitamin C to clear the dark spot.
We all just learned a lesson. Would have thought the same as you did.
I’m not on the patch, but I do like a bath in the evening, so I bet the same could help others who take baths.
True!!
Thank you so much for this information. I had no idea my patch was not waterproof. I can’t believe nobody told us this.
What about the Cholesterol aspect?? I am post menopausal. Started taking cholesterol medicine shortly after. So this is very interesting to me about the hormone effect. I am gona bring it up with my Dr.
My doctor says my cholesterol level has gone up become I’m not receiving my estrogen…and estrogen keeps cholesterol in check. I’m having my levels rechecked in 3 months and will absolutely report back on my channel 😀
@@WelcomeToMyCurlsyes please let us know mine are boarder line and I’m on the patch wondering if I need to up the dose …is ur doc a holistic practitioner cause mine has never told me that abt cholesterol but I kinda put the two together cause my levels were perfect till my hysterectomy….
I’m super curious about the cholesterol numbers too. I had my ovaries removed back in mid July and since then my cholesterol went up dramatically. I was just prescribed my estrogen patch today, the same one you are on as well as Omega-3 for my triglycerides. So hopefully it’ll drop again. I won’t take statins, because I’ve tried them before and i get massive brain fog. I hated how I felt on the statins. I hope this patch helps with sleep. Hi Renee! Thank you for sharing your experience! I would have never thought to wear a waterproof bandaid either and you know why? BECAUSE upon reading every blessed word on the pamphlet that came with my patches, NOT ONE word was mentioned about swimming (or bathing) or needing a waterproof bandaid in that case!!! So, shame on Novartis for not warning women about this most crucially important fact! You look great and you speak like a very intelligent woman...nothing dumb about you!
With all those female hormones in the pool, is Randy starting to watch soap operas? 😆
LOL no 🤣

The doctor who first put me on estradiol patch said she was on the mini dot, which sounds like yours. She was saying how she loves it because it was so small and she can swim with it. I could not afford that one, so I am on the generic patch which is a little larger. I was putting them on my lower stomach, but found they would come off too easily. So I put them now just a little above the hips. Thank God I don't know how to swim.🤗
Starting on estrodial patch next month. Thank you for this tip- I’ll take all the tips I can get!
It's totally not your fault, Renee! It seems so logical if you can shower with patch, you can swim! Thank goodness you had family doctor appointment, or it would be 2 more months you would have suffered! Unfortunately, you had to suffer so others could be educated! So appreciate you and your suffering! Lol
Interesting, I have estradiol (Evorel) patch and the leaflet in the package says that the patch is waterproof and I can go swimming with the patch on. In the everyday activities, on the second point, it says: You can go swimming. The patch will not be affected.
I guess it depends on your supplier. I live in the UK.
Hmmmm interesting!!!!!
you are correct. Generic patches are not made as well.
Omg! Thanks for sharing this. This explains alot! Ive been soaking in the tub most nights without covering my patch. I thought I needed a higher dosage! Soooo not stupid of you at all. I don't think i was informed of this. Thank you!
Renee, please check on the amount of HRT 13:41 you should have to avoid heart disease, and osteoporosis. I believe your dosage is too low
Yes it is too low.
What about someone who is 60, 61 in March? Never been on HRT. Going to talk to my GYN this week about it all. It’s all so scary for my age knowing what is beneficial and what is not now. So unfair women my age never knew or had these things brought to our attention upon entering meno. Just so sad over it all.
@@ddmontg3402I believe it 0.05 dose u need tell ur doc to do blood work first to check ur levels…
Your surgical OB/GYN SHOULD have given you those directions. No one is laughing~ I wouldn't have known! I was thrown into surgical menopause. I left the hospital though, taking a low dose~~ .01 I believe. I'm a lucky one, never ever experienced any menopausal symptoms. SO HAPPY FOR YOU RENEE!! Lol, YOU figured it out right away...thank God, you brought up you going in the pool almost daily. It's all good now yay!!!!!!😁💕
Please be easy on yourself...an understandable assumption !! Are you worried about your high cholesterol, you mentioned? Does the HRT keep your cholesterol low? With my whole food, plant based diet I've lowered my cholesterol 100 points and lost 35 pounds. Maybe the soy I consume keeps my hot flashes at bay...I'm much better in that area too ! Warm wishes.
I can't believe they didn't mention it to you when it was prescribed. I would never have known either, and definitely would have assumed if I can shower with it, I could swim with it. Glad you figured it out though. 🌷
Absolutely agree! And the paperwork provided with each box of patches says nothing about water or it’s effect on the patch.
No Renee, not stupid at all... Our doctors are NOT giving us the proper information that we need.. I almost had to beg my GP here in Australia, who actually specialises in women's health, for HRT patches. She wanted me to keep trying different Anti--depressive medication. (Insert facepalm emojji). Society has to change, Drs need to start hearing us! If this was a male issue you can surely bet that MILLIONS of $$ would be invested in research, learning and training - even FREE meds to all men so they could "function normally" instead of being treated for mental health!!!
Thank you for your vulnerability and honesty and please, please, don't ever call yourself dumb or stupid again!
Actually our medical system treats veteran men just as bad as us women are treated with this. We need to stop the man vs woman thing and stand together and demand better care for all of us.
