This might sound terrible, but I will gladly take my chances on ANY negative side effects of taking HRT, because the way I was feeling before starting hormones was much worse! It took away my desire to live! Why don’t more doctors know how important this is for women!!??
Because menopause is THE most neglected topic on our planet. There is no education whatsoever in medical school on menopause. And 4-year Ob/Gyn residencies devote only 1% of that time to menopause. I am the first and the only person to ever give women an education on menopause. Everything else is coercion, marketing, advertising, & terrorizing.
My Dr offered meds to deal with all my symptoms rather than fix the problem… why should I risk talking meds, some of which are addictive to deal with the symptoms of menopause??? UGH!!!
@@tinam761 Yes, this is one of the big problems. Schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME and I will school you in precisely how to get whatever you want. I do them all via video.
I waited 4 years without HRT due to ignorance. I finally asked my dr. For HRT, because of you, thank you. I look forward to watching all your videos so I can educate myself.
I'm 47 yrs old. I asked for an appt with my ob/gyn to explain my concerns (major changes in periods, dry skin head to toe including private area, hormonal acne breakouts, feeling irritable or weepy for no reason) They wouldn't give me an appt with my Dr, sent me to the nurse practitioner instead who I explained all my symptoms to & she apparently thinks it's no big deal. Did nothing for me.
@@sarah.j.777I went to a board certified gynecologist and she said HRT causes cancer and that I just have to buy a hand held fan. Totally dismissive. So I feel you.
Dr Taylor your UA-cam channel number of subscribers would have been in its double-digit millions had you been a "conventional" physician! Your invaluable message ought to have been broadcast on all the popular health-related UA-cam channels. Tragically, society blindly judges us by how we present ourselves!
Everything you say makes sense! However when I say to my GP that HRT prevents heart attacks, osteoporosis and Alzheimer's, she says it's not true!! It's so frustrating! And yes, I think I do know more about menopause than she does - thanks to you!
Yes and this is exactly the problem. We tell women to trust doctors and studies but the average woman on the internet going through menopause will usually know more than the doctors! What is the motive behind US doctors being so against HRT? It's not because they care about our health . That's for damn sure. You'd think they would be drooling at all the money they could be making selling HRT!
@@zsuzsuspetals maybe the psych meds and sleeping pills are better money makers. When I first started meno I had no clue of any of this so I went into the doctor for insomnia that I had never had in my life, they prescribed lunesta but I had to get generic because it was like 500 dollars a month!!! It was an awful experience, it made everything worse until I got off it but I just really wish I had educated myself on the different views of meno years ago but I was terrified so I didn't. Now I'm hoping I didn't accidentally damage myself by waiting so many years but I'm just grateful my new doctor took action and offered when she did❤ she saved my life, job, family time and my life back. I’ve been on HRT since about 50 and I’m now 66. I don’t ever intend to stop! I’m living in Portugal now. And finding a doctor expert in this is extremely challenging!
Hi Jody. I'm a 56 Portuguese postmenopausal woman on HRT since 54. Have you found a reliable doctor in Portugal to help us in this quest. My OBgyn I love him to death but is completly ignorant in this subject. What I know is what I've been learning from Dr. Taylor (bless her). I would appreciate very much if you could share your findings with me. Hope you're enjoying living in my lovely country. Thank you!!
I had an great appointment with Lidia Reis in cuf Lisboa. She is monopause especialista and Brest cancer especialist. A good listener. Totally trust her. She preciped hrt.
I went through an early menopause at 37 and have been on 2 mg of estradiol since that time. Happy to hear it's double the minimal dose to prevent the top 3! Unfortunately, my ob-gyn wants to wean her patients off HRT at 60. Time to switch to a new doctor in a few years!!
Be sure you have a consultation with me at some point BEFORE finding a new doctor. I'll school you in everything you need to know. It's not as simple as it should be.
I had to find new gynecologist. Saw him yesterday. He was against hrt, but reluctantly aloud me to continue. I’m 49, he thinks 60 is the latest you should be on it if at all. I wish I had a female gynecologist who understood hrt like menopause Taylor does.

New subscriber here. I’m 52 and just started doing HRT last week. I started having hot flushes a few months ago and I had difficulty in sleeping too. Tried reading about pre menopausal and was happy to be able to read hrt and finally convinced my gyne to give me prescriptions. I am taking estradiol and progesterone pills.
I was 32 at the time of this terribly misleading study. Thankfully at 49 I discovered that wonderful crazy menopause lady. I really appreciate how you explain the importance of estrogen. Speaking of dosages and duration, for some strange reason I want to make oatmeal rason cookies. Great information as always. Thank you.
I wish every med school would have you regularly lecture all their students on HRT! Ideally in your fabulous outfits 💖This is priceless information. Thank you so much!
I cannot get over the vast amount of quality research, material, videos and support Dr Taylor has sitting on the world wide web for free! Who does that? Dr Taylor is the reason I took HRT seriously and got an appt with my gyno and began the replacement. I began noticing a difference in my mood (for the better!) and my energy level which if there weren't any other benefits, I'd continue taking just for that! I'm high risk for the 3 dreaded so I'm really happy I started the HRT in addition to my other positive benefits! Thank you Dr. Taylor!
Thank YOU, my dear, for appreciating my efforts. My big dream is for ALL women to get this entire education in their 20s. What a difference that would make for women everywhere. But, we must realize that menopause is THE most neglected topic on Earth, and most women are in complete denial and/or know absolutely nothing about it.
It's so wonderful to see sbd being herself, following her passion, and being so generous, patient and entertaining with her help! I'm grateful that I can witness this. Thank you, Dr Taylor!
You know what really upsets me is reading comments here about women having to fight and beg for hrt for a few years and 70+ year old Caitlyn Jenner dosen't and never will have these struggles despite being well over the age of menopause. That is the ultimate in unfairness. My doctor got real uncomfortable when I pointed this out. Maybe we all need to start this line of reasoning...
The problem is transwomen have to take high dose estrogen to block testosterone and reverting back to their sex at birth. Sadly, real biological women have to go 18 rounds with their doctor for estrogen replacement that WE WANT. It's our life, our choice! Why does a doctor decide for us! It irks me!
Sorry, when a transman grows a uterus and deals with real world health problems he will still be a confused man wearing a dress and taking hormones to suppress testosterone
You always provide just the information I need! I was on HRT for 6 months when my doctor recommended I start decreasing doses to see how my body would react so that I could eventually be weaned off. I told that doctor I never want to experience any of those symptoms again (i.e. anxiety, depression, mood swings, feeling like crying for no reason, hot flashes, fatigue, waking in the middle of the night with hot flashes and restroom trips, aching joints, ect.) and if I have to take HRT for the rest of my life I would happily do so! Have I got a video to share with her if she ever suggests that again!
Hi, I just started HRT and I was curious at what point did you fill the relief in your joints? Im wondering if my dosage should be higher? I keep waking up at night also.
@@jenniferortiz7963 All symptoms ceased from the day I start HRT. Every now and then my joints ache but another contributor to that is diet and heredity. What works for me is an anti-inflammatory diet (no sugar just those naturally from most veggies and low glycemic fruit) with Intermittent Fasting. Your aching joints may be caused by some other condition rather than hormonal. Swelling joints especially in the fingers is genetic (my mother and 3 sisters have suffered with that). One thing they all have in common is a love for sweets and they are all overweight. I have also taken supplements bromelian, devil's claw and cat's claw. If you are still having sleep issues I would advise you to consult your physician. It could also be that you just need to give it some time. I hope you find what works for you.
@@debbee18 Thank you so much for your response! I agree, I think diet has a lot to do with it. I’m a huge carb eater. Love anything that crunches. Thank you again💜
Take the lowest dose for the shortest amount of time is absolutely insane and I fell for it until I found you. You make so much sense.... I am so grateful for this education. There is way too much wrong information out there about HRT and bio identical this and that and the pellets. Ugh! It makes me so crazy. What has got me down these past few weeks is that I have not met a woman that wants to discuss menopause or menopause symptoms. I dont know if they are embarrassed or what. They bury their heads in the sand like it doesnt exist. So sad to me. If it were not for you, this education and the women commenting, I would think I was the only woman who felt like this.
It’s so weird to me that women are in such shame about their bodies. Actually I think it extends to all parts of their being with liberal applications of religion as a fast temporary antidote 😂
You are so right, Yvette. Menopause is THE most neglected topic on Earth ... even by the very women who will experience it for the entire second half of their lives! If only women would pull their heads out of the sand and start a menopause revolution, things would improve.
My girlfriends all hit 50 and when I broach the topic, they brag about how they’re only in peri and talk about getting their estrogen from their food…how everyone thinks they still look young…and then they get on FaceTime and all I see is the Turkey neck, grey hair galore and crow’s feet. They don’t want to hear about hrt or tretenoin either… so I’m done trying to talk about it with anyone, even medical professionals who call themselves hrt experts…i went to a so called expert in CT and she did not know what cyclical hrt was..and she charged a whopping $450…a nurse, not even a doctor. I’d be dead in the water without these videos Ms Barbie…thank you so much.

I've watched HOURS of your videos and gained so much knowledge from you, so Thank You!! I'm almost 53 and had my first menopause discussion with my OBGYN today. It went well and she seemed open as long as I already knew what some of the facts were and what I wanted and why. I feel that if I went to my appointment without the knowledge I gained from you, my appointment would have been a very different one. I'm going to start HRT but I just looked at MyChart and my Estradiol pill dose is .5mg and Progesterone is 200mg. So, I'll have to figure out on asking/getting the Estradiol up to 1mg. You are bettering our lives with this knowledge and we are all pretty grateful after reading comments. Stephanie

@@susanfrail9564 I'm assuming you mean .75mg and every woman is different for how much Estradiol she needs. Estriol is not the same, so then the dose wouldn't be the same as Estradiol. If you watch all of these videos you will see that there is a minimum dose of Estradiol to take for the health benefits and also much much much more useful information.
Wow, so this is really helpful. I am learning that when I go back to my dr, if I need a dosage increase, I need to say that I am not getting any relief from my symptoms. Not that it's relieving them some but I still have them. I don't like misleading medical professionals but...
Hello Dr. Barbie: Thank you! You are unique and fearless for sharing all this. You boldly present the facts of your investigation as a woman, and I imagine since you suffered it yourself, you're proof of how this works. Just look at you. A big applause for you Dr.
Thank you so much for sharing this wisdom. I can't wait for my consultation. It has been my experience that women are underserved in general and post menopausal women are just dismissed as a whole. Frustrating. Second only to the mental health population in terms of ignorance about medicine and its administration. God help us in both categories.
I went to my OB/GYN a few days ago for a hormone consult and was happy with how it went. There was no mention of a blood test and they gave me the type and dosage of estrogen and progesterone that I requested. I was prepared to put up a fight but thankfully, I didn't have to. lol
I started HRT when I was thrust into surgical menopause at 47. I decided then and there, that I would take it for the rest of my life. Loved it! 4 1/2 years ago, I had a SCAD, heart attack, and cardiac arrest (did take it for the rest of my life, at that point, heh). Immediately, I was taken off of HRT, as it was discovered that I have Fibromuscular Dysplasia, had so many clots. The cardiologist felt that HRT may cause more clots. I had so many clots due to the SCAD. I have worked on my doctor ever since,to get it back, to no avail. However, according to my recent viewing of videos on UA-cam, by gynaecologists, and what can be done to help my cause, the doctor listened to me, and so while ‘he’ still won’t give me a prescription for HRT, he relented, and gave me a prescription for Premarin Cream….better than nothing. PS I never had blood clots in the 12 years I used my beloved HRT. 😊
I've learned that the patch version of estrogen is how you avoid the blood clots. So please look into that, and then see if you can provide that information to your doctor to feel comfortable switching to the patches for you. If you go swimming, put a fully sealed band-aid over it to protect it from leaching out. Dr. Mary Claire Haver is another doctor here on UA-cam that discusses all of this.
Not only are your videos incredibly informative, but I read the comments and your replies and gain even more info! Whew, the misconceptions and misinformation that is swirling around is painful to see! So many women are doomed! Thank you again for setting the record straight!
Thank you so much for appreciating my efforts. I just think women deserve so much more than they are getting. And the only way things will ever change is if they learn enough to demand more. Unfortunately, the vast majority of women are completely ignorant, in denial, & victims of terrorism about their own hormone.
Yes, you are right. I'm an older woman and feel very disadvantaged due to the scares about HRT and lack of knowledge in the medical field about menopause and hormones. I was on HRT until the 'Big Scare', then Dr wouldn't prescribe it anymore, so I've been left to trying to manage aging without hormones, just trying vitamins and minerals, but NOTHING replaces our hormones. In long ago times, women died at about age 50, so menopause wasn't investigated, but now we live for another 30 to 40 years after menopause, it's a long time to live at less than an optimum level of good health. I've had a few friends pass away from heart attacks and stroke, or developed neuropathy and other disorders.... None were on HRT.
Dr Taylor - can you explain what eventually makes symptoms of menopause, such as hot flashes, night sweats, brain fog, joint pain, etc. go away in women who don’t take HRT? They say the average time for hot flashes is 5-7 years, for example. I’m aware that this is not the case for every woman, that some suffer for much longer or for the rest of their lives. How is the eventual cessation of symptoms in some women, despite a lack of estradiol, explained by science? I’ve not found this explained by anyone and would really like to understand it. Thank you! 🌸
Women are not robots. Some women have these symptoms forever because they are a response to estrogen deficiency. Other women have these symptoms only while they are transitioning through peri-menopause and into post-menopause because they are a response to changing estrogen levels rather than no estrogen.
@@MenopauseTaylor I understand these two “categories” you mentioned. And what about women whose symptoms (hot flashes, joint pain, for example) finally disappear, say 6 years into post menopause? This is what I’m trying to understand. Based on your answer above, their symptoms were caused by estrogen deficiency, since these women were long past the transition, being 6 yrs post menopausal. What happens biologically, when a woman stops having symptoms after being many years post menopausal? I’m also asking, because this “phenomenon” does not seem to be happening in the case of chronic thyroid hormone or insulin deficiency, i.e. symptoms will not disappear while the person is still thoroughly deficient in those vital hormones, to the best of my knowledge.
@@cm1906 No two women are alike. I can help you with YOUR situation in a consultation. I cannot do so in a comment box. While symptoms my disappear, the risk of heart attack, osteoporosis, and Alzheimer's do not.
@@MenopauseTaylor Sigh! Dr Taylor, I have been so careful and I think very clear in the wording and formulation of my question above. This is not a question pertaining to me or my specific situation. It is a question about the science and facts that I would really like to understand. (I thought this was the purpose of this channel). It is completely fine with me, by the way, if you say you don’t know the answer(s). Suggestions on where to find information on this particular topic would be very welcome as well. I understand if you’re not able to spend time on more detailed answers/explanations.
@@cm1906 If it helps any, there is no scientific answer to your question. There is no data to be found, It is not known why some bodies never have any menopause symptoms and other bodies have them for decades. Just as science cannot predict when a woman will go into labor, the details are unknown. We don't know when a girl will first start menarche. We cannot predict menopause, symptom severity, length of symptoms. There are not studies done on these things. Research costs money and there is no profit in studying these things, so there is no data. (And she did answer your question, you just didn't notice it... some women respond to *changes* in estrogen, once it is zero, there are no more *changes* -- a paraphrase of what she wrote. Also by saying women are not robots she is saying every single women is different and responses are different, there is not a human on earth that can give you precise data for why that is. Estrogen deficiency is not comparable with insulin or thyroid because if you had zero of those hormones, it would be fatal. Hope that helps, if not, apologies and scroll on.

Oh my GOSH!!! I am thanking god, the universe AND the quantum field for bringing me to your videos!!😄I'm 60, started peri menopause at 48 with ALL the symptoms because of incredible stress, and basically started hrt immediately because there was no way I was going to live on without it. .5, then 1mg, then 1.5 but my very expensive functional medicine doctor (a very young woman) told me to reduce my dose because my blood levels are twice what the "normal range" supposedly is, meanwhile I've recently learned from you that not only are those numbers completely arbitrary, but I've had so many symptoms for years that could easily be attributed to not enough estrogen!! Pretty bad brain fog & memory issues for my age, fatigue & insomnia/depression top the list. And my numbers barely moved after reducing the dose as much as I could without getting hot flashes & night sweats back. I'm just so amazed that even this functional doc is parroting the WHI report!! WoW. And my adrenals were never even discussed. I know by how I feel that i am completely "tapped" re my adrenals (at least I think so, lol) As soon as I can I'm going to set up a consultation with you! Thank you soooo much Dr Taylor! 💜🙏

The Mantra is EXACTLY the same Mantra that my GP used when I started to make enquiries about taking HRT as I transitioned into post Menopause over the last few months. She (my GP) said "we only prescribe HRT for symptoms such as hot flushes where they become so bad that it begins to affect quality of life" lol omg. But now that I've heard the Mantra with my very own ears, and from now on, I will start to use it to my own advantage, based on my education and knowledge fthat I have learnt (and continue to learn) from attending Menopause Taylor University 😬
I was told something horrible by my doctor in that she only prescribes HRT when you are entirely in menopause, not as you transition from peri into menopause and your levels might be dipping down. Unreal.
Thank you for the valuable work you’re doing to educate women in a time when the medical profession does not have the best interests of menopausal women in the decisions, & limitations that have been put on their access to estrogen.
I just switched back to patches after using them for 2 years. I’ve been forced to use gel a period of time because of shortage of patches on the market. My patches have worked before but I will increase my dosage now, because I started having hot flashes again during the night. Gel is not an option because I got “muscle-twitches “ in my legs at night. My doctor gives me any dosage I ask for so now it’s time to increase the dosage. Thank you for taking the fear out of the picture, it makes so much sense when listening to you 😊
@@SpringismySeason unfortunately there is only one company selling patches in Sweden and they control the whole market 😟 so if they don’t deliver we are out of them. It’s been more than a year now and only a few times of re stock! That would never happened if it was a drug for men…. 🙄🙄
Thank you for this wonderful video! QUESTION: WHAT IS A HEALTHY BLOOD LEVEL OF ESTROGEN?? When my OBGYN prescribed the 1mg of estradiol, my blood level estrogen shot way up to 1270, which both my GP and the lab report said this level was way too high and was unhealthy and that I was setting myself up for CANCER. So my GP had my dose cut in half to .05mg. Once I switched to the .05mg, my blood estrogen dropped to 466 which is considered by most doctors and labs to be NORMAL. ---------‐‐--------------- EDIT: Never mind! I just watched your video on Horemone Levels for Determining HRT Doseage. I'm just going to get my dosage switched back and "Listen To My body". Thank you!! ❤

When I read about that whole "lowest dose for shortest time" I immediately thought, "well that's just stupid...why bother taking estrogen at all if you're just going to get symptoms and problems again as soon as you stop?" It made zero sense to me. Thank you for validating my commonsense hunch.

Thank you for another great video! I was originally put on .25 estradiol and had debilitating flashes and exhaustion, my Dr did put me on .5 estradiol patch and I have very few flashes now. Feel like my old self. Without that patch and progesterone at night, I was unable to function. Thank you for all of this important information, I just can't understand why no one talks about menopause and every time I tell someone I'm on HRT they say it's dangerous. I just want to shake the stupid out of them 😉
@@Prophetmother You should never compare your menopause experience with another woman. If you have questions, schedule a consultation with me so that I can tailor everything to YOU.
According to the recent results of a Dutch Test that I undertook through my new integrative doctor, it seems my problem may be estrogen methylation. My estrogen levels came back super high. With respect to this I am studying the related aspects, Eg. COMP and also being sure to take Methyl B12, Folate, and as much SamE as I can tolerate. In addition to this I am considering dropping my estrogen from 2mg to 1mg daily for a few months, depending on how my body reacts. Now thankfully I know that 1mg is sufficient to keep me protected, I have more peace about doing this. I am also using Prometrium 100mg for progesterone. I am 55 and still youthful. I treasure this!
Well ... the DUTCH test is an expensive scam, my dear. I suspect that your Integrative Doctor knows little or nothing about menopause (otherwise, he or she would not be using labs ... especially the DUTCH test).
Thank you for this! It is SO important! My doctor will not prescribe over 0.1mg transdermal estridiol, despite the fact I'm still having symptoms AND a strong family history of alzheimers. I believe women who are high risk should be offered MORE estrogen than someone who does not have a family history. Also; my doctor recommends not taking hrt for more than 5 to 10 years. I'm only 48. The past 4 years have been so miserable that I can't imagine being completely without my hormones. That is simply inhumane. It all seems so ridiculous that we have to fight to find a provider that will just give us what we need! Especially since more and more data comes out proving estrogen preserves our health. I want to see if I feel better with more estrogen. Why is 0.1mg the line in the sand almost all doctors draw the line at? Should I wait for things to change.....and meanwhile lose gray matter? Is this my only option? Really? It is unacceptable. But what can we do? I feel defeated. Menopause is already a trying time. I've honestly never felt worse. Fighting for something my body needs to function and prevent disease should not be this hard.

@@Luva_-_ Hi Luva, I’m not familiar with Ona products. Do you need RX for these? Are they creams or what form? Where can you purchase? Are there labs required that suggest dosage/strength. Thanks for sharing.
Something that’s always confusing to me is in Perimenopause doctors will often prescribe birth control pill to help for symptoms but the birth control pill has higher levels of hormones than what HRT does, why is the default the birth control pill … IF even that because sometimes they suggest antidepressants
HRT and birth control (containing BOTH estrogen and progestin) are the very same thing at different dosage levels. The younger you are, the higher the dosage of estrogen your body needs. I am diagnosed with osteoporosis and started the bioidentical hormones a year ago. I have never had the typical symptons like hot flashes so I thought I don`t need to take anything. I had a deeper dive into HRT when I fell off my bike and broke my foot. Here in Germany doctors don´t know as much about bone density and hormones. They simply want to treat you with the heavy medications ( like Prolia)and ask you to look after your D3. I am so happy that I came across your very informative chanel. I now take 2 pumps of Gynokadin( 1 pump contains 0.6 mg Estradial. I apply it as a cream on my inner leg. In addition I take one capsule of 200 mg Progesterone. In the morning I add some Testosterone cream on my arm. ( I can`t get pellets here in Germany) . I am so shocked and worried about the osteoporosis and I am not sure if the amount of Estrogen is okay to get better with the Osteoporosis .Maybe you can let me know. Thank you for educating us with your chanel. I have learnt so much . Greetings from Germany, Barbara

Thank you Dr. Taylor, I just got back from visiting my primary and having to beg for estrogen only the hear the "mantra" "take only the minimal (.5mg) for the shortest time (whatever that is)". She thinks my body is just addicted to estrogen and I should be weaned off of it. Thank you for speaking the truth!

Wonderful info, and thank you Dr. Taylor! I guess I need another DEXA to know if my minimal dose is doing what it should; wish doctors would educate themselves because its ridiculous what we, the patients, have to go through to get that tiny bit of estrogen compared to what we once had.
I had to be my own advocate with my primary care doctor Unbelievably, She did not know any of this information Thank you so so much for your guidance regarding HRT! It has saved me!! ❤
There is NO education on menopause at all in medical school. Most doctors know absolutely nothing about it. In a 4-year Ob/Gyn residency program, only 1% of the time is devoted to menopause. So your doctor represents the norm. This is why I give YOU this menopause education.

Wow, the last two on your list are what I have been on since I turned 50: Bioidentical estradiol cream and testosterone cream. And you’re telling me now after 10 years that they are not preventing me from possibly getting the three main diseases? What a bummer!!😩I am kind of in shock now. 😲I am now 60.! Yeah I’m really looking forward to next weeks edition because I have been on estradiol cream which is pink of course and testosterone cream which is in the blue container. The pink one I apply twice a day 4 mg once in the morning and once in the evening. The blue I (can’t read the label maybe 10 mg? ) take once a day& I actually take the weekends off from that. I also take progesterone pills 75 mg from the 15th through the 30th, 31st only. We (My naturopathic Dr.Nikki)tried for the whole month and it just makes me gain weight from progesterone if I go all mth …so this seems to be the comfortable dosaging. If I eat the improper foods like alcohol, sweets, which I know are not beneficial to me, then I get hot flashes. Otherwise, I seem to be okay. We have experimented for the last 10 years up and down with the dosages and this seems to be the most comfortable.. But I am very concerned 😦 after the end of the list re compounded cream. 😳😭😩😫😩
Same here. I’m 54 and I’ve been on bio-identical HRT for about 10 years now and I feel absolutely fantastic. I recently increased the dosage to a very high level to weed off these 3 diseases and I feel very good about it despite what Dr. Taylor is saying and I love her and believe nearly everything I’ve learned on all her videos. I know these are working for me without a doubt and I don’t plan on changing it. I’ve used the same compound pharmacy for just as long and I trust them. But I am looking forward to the next video to see what else I might be missing out. My physician specializes in HRT and he’s been in business for 30+ years and he’s only worked with bio-identical HRT so they can’t all be wrong….
@@Courtneyp268 well, I sent the video to my Dr. Nikki to have her view it. And she’s quite busy right now because she’s going through some illness but she said she will get to it. I also plan to send her next weeks episode to see where we stand. I’m glad I’m not the only one. It did put me in a great sense of sadness to think that I’ve been doing good for myself but now maybe not. Well we shall see
Thank you so much for your feedback. I think we also have to listen to our bodies in addition to hearing scientific facts. I’ve weaned off bio-identical HRT once several years ago just to see how it impacted me and I felt it literally days later when I had no HRT in my body. I couldn’t function. And when I got right back on, I felt like myself again. And I’ve been feeling good consistently since. Otherwise, we have to question the very existence of compound pharmacy, don’t we?
I would also like to know if as long as you get routine lab work and hormone levels are monitored to make sure they’re in the optimal range, how is compounded estrogen cream any worse or ineffective??
I am thinking (hoping) that next week the problem with compounded biest/triest creams will only be if we are not getting enough estradiol (E2) in the formula. That is the estrogen that we must get the 0.1 daily dose to prevent deseases and the other forms of estrogen (estriol & estrone) were naturally produced and now used for other benefits. My biest cream meets that requirement and has estriol mixed with estradiol and I feel great. Since I have a uterus I also take .75 mg of progesterone cream before bed. My doctor told me that this dose of my biest cream (estrogens) equals 1.5 mg in the morning and 1.5 mg in the evening so a total of 3 mg Estradiol daily and .75 mg progesterone cream daily. Part of the fear for me in taking bhrt has been knowing if I am taking the correct dose for disease prevention. Some of my friends take such a lower dose and think that is all they need so it is confusing. I hope that all this misinformation out in the world will be figured out by the medical professionals and our daughters wont have to go through this maze to figure out the best way to handle their menopause and prevent diseases.
Thank you for all that you share here. So if you do not lose estrogen until after menopause would it be good to start on a low dose of estrogen and progesterone while in peri-menopause and then upping the dosage after menopause?
Peri-menopause is the process of losing estrogen, It can take 2 to 1- years. Post-menopause is when all your estrogen is gone, and you live the rest of your life in the land of zero estrogen.
DR. Taylor, so I already passed the time to Be able to take HRT, you have covered the reasons why my DR simply refused I hear it in every video and agree. NOW, when that is the case what is/are the recommendations for those of us that can not take hormone replacement. In which book/chapter in your book can I find that information? Thank you so much for your invaluable contribution to this topic.

"Approach?" I don't have an "approach." I teach about ALL options, along with all the capabilities and limitations of each. The key is to tailor eveyrthing to the individual woman. Nothing is right for all women.
It is so very frustrating when I politely attempt to explain the truth about estrogen and HRT to other women in menopause. 99% of them disbelieve the info. Now, I know it’s a complex and heated topic, but I regularly hear misconceptions that are so completely wrong, it’s mind boggling. I end up gently suggesting they seek out your amazing channel to hear it for themselves and wish them the best. It’s sad how often people view HRT as being something to completely avoid.
When you have a real education, you see that most people are completely comfortable with their ignorance. I am the first and the only person to ever provide an education on menopause. So most women don't know they need it. They don't know what they don't know.
Ugh! My doctor prescribed 0.5mg of estradiol gel, which I've been taking for YEARS now (eight or more?). I feel like I've wasted my time and money on something that turns out to be completely ineffective in preventing the big 3!! And does this mean I missed my estrogen window? I want to cry.
You need a higher dose You have been getting some in you four years Maybe not enough to prevent the big 3 But not too late to start with the right dose Ask Dr Taylor

Thank you for all you do. I had a hystorectomy and my fallopian tubes removed this past June. Even though I kept my ovaries, I'm getting hot flashes, night sweats and gained weight (over 20 pounds) Talked to my doctor and he gave me a prescription for .5mg estradiol. Its a low dose mostly because I'm terrified of a blood clot. I've had the pills for two weeks and still can't bring myself to take it. had a friend die of one. Looking forward to learning more from you so I can make an educated decision. It's sad how the fact sheet that came with the meds says it's not for preventing disease. It also says that on every website I've read regarding the subject.

I took estrogen after a LAVH at 52. I took Estrace at 2mgs for 10 years. My gyn, a woman, said I should stop because it was not recommended to go longer than 8 years on it, related to concerns about estrogen fueling breast cancers. I've never had any type of cancer. I weaned off the estrogen by around age 63 and had no menopausal symptoms. I just recently turned 70 and had a dexa scan that showed osteopenia. My question Menopause Taylor is...is it too late to start on at least 1mg of estradiol, maybe in a patch, and have any help with the big 3 diseases? Is it more likely to develop breast cancer if estrogen is re-introduced after being off?
I’m pretty sure your estrogen window begins when you stop- so you are only 7 years within your window. Leave her another message- sometimes she doesn’t “see” all messages. Good Luck!

I'm 53. 2 years ago was diagnosed with Hashimotos. I went on the estrodial patch about 4 years ago to curb severe hot flashes and symptoms. It was great for about 2 years but then the symptoms were slowly coming back. I asked my doctor to up my dosage, he wouldnt due to "risks". So Ive suffered through. Well, the last year I now have an allergic reaction to adhesive which includes the patch. I contacted my doctor and he said I could take a pill form but my mother in law said she is positive that her HRT is what gave her breast cancer. Another fantastic video! Here's the problem I have with my OBGYN ....he says, HRT for menopause is not the same as taking medication for insulin or thyroid because it's "normal" for women to lose their hormones as they age. He said "normal aging" is NOT the same as having diabetes or thyroid problems. Not all women will need thyroid meds or insulin, but all women will lose their hormones. So by taking HRT we are "preventing normal aging" and therefore it's bad for us. Now I do not agree of course. But it makes me wonder how long the tide will take to turn again in favor of HRT. Also, I can clearly remember in the early 90s Suzanne Somers and other pro HRT women on a talk show arguing with doctors who were against HRT. My mother looked to get HRT in the early 1990s when she was in her late 40s and her doctor cautioned her against it. So while the medical community was more open to HRT before the 2002 study, they've never been as on board as they should be. We have a LONG way to go! Thank you Dr. Taylor!
Menopause is THE most neglected topic on Earth. Don't you wonder how things would be if men lost all their testosterone as a natural consequence of aging?Well, things would be quite a bit different, that's for sure: 1) There would be an ATM (Automatic Testosterone Machine) on every street corner, in every building, & in every home. 2) Society's #1 priority would be to ensure that all men have all the testosterone they want. 3) And it would be free.

Denise, I've had them tell me the same thing with no sound reasoning as to why! Think of it this way, our bodies are used to swimming in estrogen our entire lives! It's the loss of estrogen that creates issues for women!
I remember my obgyn saying oh I see your on Hrt. How are you doing on it? I was approaching 65 started at 48. I said, I’m doing fine!! It has saved my life. She said, We should probably start cutting that down.😳 I said, what? Why is that? She said, well you can’t take it forever! I said, hmm the Doctor I had before you that put me on it said I would take it for the rest of my life, God willing. And thats what I fully intend on doing! She looked at me stunned. She didn’t say anything and she didn’t cut it down or wean me off or have that conversation again. Thank you Lord🙌
I have a question. I think the most vital insight in these videos is understanding the dosage our bodies need to prevent the big three diseases. However, we are presented with multiple forms of HRT. So my question is: is it even possible to get the proper dosage of estrogen and progesterone using any thing other than prescription?? How would you even know you’re hitting the baseline requirements if you’re using only natural supplements?
Every body is different. These are things that must be tailored to the individual. So your body may require something different than someone else's body. Such a good video. Each one answers more questions. I was wondering if the bio-identical Estrogen pellet (that’s what they call it) has a minimum dosage and does that pellet prevent the 3 dreaded diseases. Hugs and laughter…XO
@@MenopauseTaylor Pellets are a scam? Really?? I hear doctors saying oral estradiol is terrible for the kidneys and they are saying they prevent these diseases? Wow! That is terrible.

You have no idea how much I appreciate your videos I constantly tell women about them. They will change their lives for sure.
Thank you so much for appreciating my efforts. I love every minute of creating and delivering this education.
I am too but I’m getting velcrose veins….what about you? I wonder what we can do about this common problem.
Omg. Me too. I’m a fragile x carrier.
I had to find new gynecologist. Saw him yesterday. He was against hrt, but reluctantly aloud me to continue. I’m 49, he thinks 60 is the latest you should be on it if at all. I wish I had a female gynecologist who understood hrt like menopause Taylor does.

If you schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME, I will:

(3) Tell you how to get precisely what you want for your menopause management.

Thank you.
I love helping you, my dear,
I wish every med school would have you regularly lecture all their students on HRT! Ideally in your fabulous outfits 💖This is priceless information. Thank you so much!
You are so very welcome, my dear. I think all women deserve this education (in their 20s).
You are so very welcome, my dear. I love every minute of delivering this education to you.
It irks me!
And don’t men get access to testosterone.. free?
@@jeanetteraichel8299 they say trans women are women, so let's be all treated the same way. Or maybe we all call ourselves trans women now.
@@13nlsc not free but no struggle. My husband had no issues with this.
Same!!!

I get the same responses. I now say, I thought menopause was just about hot flashes…boy was I wrong! Sometimes, they inquire but mostly, they don’t.
Yup, same here. My friends don't want to hear about HRT
Hello Dr. Taylor! I’m on year number two using estradiol patch and could not be happier! Thank you for your multiple consultations and such helpful guidance in this process! If anybody Is wondering whether or not to get a consultation with Dr. Taylor… Just do it! It’s the smartest thing I’ve ever done! Thank you, Dr Taylor! I’ll be scheduling a follow up with you prior to my two year…to go over a few things!

You are so very welcome, my dear. I love helping you, and I so appreciate your words of encouragement for other women.
Are you on the Xulane patch? I am considering that.
So you just take estrogen or progesterone too?
Your videos, Dr. B, are a breath of fresh air. Straight and to the point, no nonsense invaluable information for all women. Thank you.
It's my absolute pleasure. You have been such a wonderful supporter of my efforts.
Stephanie

What’s 75mg of estriol is it to much to be on
@@susanfrail9564 I'm assuming you mean .75mg and every woman is different for how much Estradiol she needs. Estriol is not the same, so then the dose wouldn't be the same as Estradiol. If you watch all of these videos you will see that there is a minimum dose of Estradiol to take for the health benefits and also much much much more useful information.
Barbie, you are brilliant, and a Godsend. Just upped my patch to 0.1. I'll go higher if I'm still lying on my back staring at the ceiling until 4 a.m.
I can help you with this in a consultation, which you can schedule at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I do them all online.
My eyes were opened when my dr made me read Estrogen Matters, wow.
Exactly!
That's a phenomenal book that sings estrogen's praises!!
Thank you so much for sharing this wisdom. I can't wait for my consultation. It has been my experience that women are underserved in general and post menopausal women are just dismissed as a whole. Frustrating. Second only to the mental health population in terms of ignorance about medicine and its administration. God help us in both categories.
If women start pulling their heads out of the sand and demand more, they'll get more. The denial is the biggest problem of all.
I went to my OB/GYN a few days ago for a hormone consult and was happy with how it went. There was no mention of a blood test and they gave me the type and dosage of estrogen and progesterone that I requested. I was prepared to put up a fight but thankfully, I didn't have to. lol
I am so glad you got what you want to manage YOUR menopause YOUR way. That's how it should be.
Whether or not you resume taking HRT should be YOUR decision, based on YOUR comfort zone, and YOUR risk tolerance.
Did you take the hrt when you had the heart attack or afterwards?

The trouble with common sense is that it's not very common!
I felt very empowered starting HRT after understanding my options and the minimum dosages needed to prevent the big 3. I had my Menopause Chart ready, so as soon as I was prescribed a lower dose than needed, I was able to immediately advocate for myself and was approved to the dose I requested. Aging is aging. It's not about your actual age. What matters is how long the aging process has gone on. And we do not all age at the same pace or in the same ways.

Pretty bad brain fog & memory issues for my age, fatigue & insomnia/depression top the list. And my numbers barely moved after reducing the dose as much as I could without getting hot flashes & night sweats back. I'm just so amazed that even this functional doc is parroting the WHI report!!
Unreal.

QUESTION:
WHAT IS A HEALTHY BLOOD LEVEL OF ESTROGEN??
When my OBGYN prescribed the 1mg of estradiol, my blood level estrogen shot way up to 1270, which both my GP and the lab report said this level was way too high and was unhealthy and that I was setting myself up for CANCER.
So my GP had my dose cut in half to .05mg. Once I switched to the .05mg, my blood estrogen dropped to 466 which is considered by most doctors and labs to be NORMAL.

I wonder if you could make a video discussing how high can you go I your oestrogen replacement, and how do you detect if you are taking too much, or if there are any side effects of the oestrogen replacement to be on the lookout for? Also I would love to hear if you have thoughts on replacing testosterone as well? As I understand that some do recommend low dosages of that too as testosterone also decreases with menopause.

When I read about that whole "lowest dose for shortest time" I immediately thought, "well that's just stupid...why bother taking estrogen at all if you're just going to get symptoms and problems again as soon as you stop?" It made zero sense to me. Thank you for validating my commonsense hunch.
You are using your head, my dear! I applaud you.

I just want to shake the stupid out of them 😉
How quickly did you notice the effect after you increased your dosage?

@@MenopauseTaylor Your saying this does not surprise me. I had my suspicions.

Dr. Taylor, you were ON FIRE in this video! Love it!
Ha! Well, thank you, y dear.

Thank you for all that you share here. So if you do not lose estrogen until after menopause would it be good to start on a low dose of estrogen and progesterone while in peri-menopause and then upping the dosage after menopause?

Post-menopause is when all your estrogen is gone, and you live the rest of your life in the land of zero estrogen.

Don't you wonder how things would be if men lost all their testosterone as a natural consequence of aging?Well, things would be quite a bit different, that's for sure:

So my question is: is it even possible to get the proper dosage of estrogen and progesterone using any thing other than prescription?? How would you even know you’re hitting the baseline requirements if you’re using only natural supplements?
Every body is different. These are things that must be tailored to the individual. So your body may require something different than someone else's body.
This is precisely the kind of thing I do in consultations: Tailor everything specifically to YOU. Women are not robots. There is nothing that will suffice for all women.
If you want a consultation, schedule one at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I do them all online.
Such a good video. Each one answers more questions.
I was wondering if the bio-identical Estrogen pellet (that’s what they call it) has a minimum dosage and does that pellet prevent the 3 dreaded diseases.
Hugs and laughter…XO
Yes, I am wondering the same?
All pellets are compounded and completely incapable of preventing ANY diseases. They are the biggest scam around.

@@MenopauseTaylor Pellets are a scam? Really?? I hear doctors saying oral estradiol is terrible for the kidneys and they are saying they prevent these diseases? Wow! That is terrible.
@@MenopauseTaylor omg! I am without protection for 3 months! 😳😭
