Great talk. I have been thinking on this morning topic all summer as I have heard someone say, why hunt when you can't see your pin? I looove morning hunts, but if I'm being honest with my self, i have had many deer smashing through the woods while walking in when it is dark. This year i'm going to change and stop walking in when it is dark.
You talked about moon phase effects on summer being greater. Remember summer they're using massive stores to grow antlers so they're eating 50% more than they are in fall trying to replenish what they use and start putting on fat reserves
I genuinely loved this episode. I love hunting mornings early season to kill doe’s. A Freezer full to feed my 3 boys and my wife come first before my buck tag expedition. Unless I know my chances are so pure a giant walks out during that task at hand. Hasn’t happened yet, not knocking any wood on that. Let’s go!
If theres a decent cold front anytime of october get in the woods. I almost shot a giant 10 oct 17th last year 8am buddy about shot another big 1 on oct 8th am both cold fronts. Be in the woods right after the front
Dan, don't you think doing those challenge hunts makes you a better hunter? Especially on public? I scouted a piece of public today and we saw a buck bed less than 50 yards from the parking lot. A perfect example of stories you've told about deer patterning people.
I missed the live show, but I think they also had an article about the fawn found up in a tree. I guess it depends on how he presented himself to the judge.
I'm sorry, but that question about the solar light. There can't really be people doing that, right? I just laughed at yalls initial reaction. Enjoy these podcasts. Thanks
I know a person that shot a buck that wasn't big enough to suit him so he toss it over the hill. So mad that when I found it that I didn't call the law
We need to get boots on ground and scout as much as possible. But thats equivalent to the guy checking trail cams. Your gonna spook um and they wont come back for 2-3 seasons..... contradiction or no?
First of all I wouldn’t put myself in that position to lose hunting for 35 years. But if I did hypothetically I would move to another state. I couldn’t not hunt even 1 year.
I honestly think deer are used to lights.. a bunch of times.. I've ran right up to deer.. with a bike light.. to a couple feet before they will even spook.. maybe they get use to them from cars or yard lights.. I don't know.. 😂.. it could also be.. that they don't think of humans as dangerous at night.. idk.. not a deer.. 🦌.. just my observations and dumb opinion.. LMAO 😂
To me the length of the hunting ban doesn’t matter since the guy is a poacher? Kinda like gun free zones. Hitting him in the wallet will hurt more I bet
I love these talks between you two. Learning sooo much! My only fear is so is everyone else!🤨

I’ve shot two of my biggest bucks October 25th in Michigan in the morning
The barn project sounds like the story of every grown man’s life with those types of projects. 🤣

Scouted a new piece today, red oak acorns are looking good, not so much on the white oak, at least in that area.
Grey poupon I believe was the commercial
No maybe that was can you ease pass the jelly

I remember that salsa commercial. Picante Salsa. From the 90s. I'm in my 30s.
Pace Picante sauce! “New York CITY”???? 😂
This picante sauce was made in NewYork City? Yea I’m older😂
I know a person that shot a buck that wasn't big enough to suit him so he toss it over the hill. So mad that when I found it that I didn't call the law
How y'all doin'?
From the 28-32 min mark I learned so much valuable info! thx! And I am only up to that part!
It used to be cheaper to pay the $500 when you got caught than to join a club or a lease.

The poacher guy essentially got a life sentence, give him 5 years.
Benifit of hunting in the morning is lookie loos don't see you walking in and gawk at you.
The ole Pace picante sauce remember it well
I have no problem with the $25,000 fine but the 35 year ban is excessive. If the fines dont hurt then they wont be effective.
Guarantee that guy doesn’t stop hunting. 😂
Pacante' sauce from NYC??!!!!
Finally came in now
I think losing hunting rights for 5 years and a $1K fine.

Don't put a light in their bedroom or your stand.. LMAO😂
Plenty of them Yahoo's that lose their license, just keep on hunting. Fact😢
25000$, 35 years over shooting a damn pine goat?😂😂😂
