Best thing about failing is the learning experience gained from it. I've become a good hunter from the years of failures. Great show fellas.

Wow Dan you look quite a bit younger! Good show guys and it’s always kinda sad at the end of the deer season. I guess there’s always next year and shed hunting or coyote hunting. 🦌🦌

The worst always happens when worrying and getting down too early. Spooked a nice 10 this year doing that.

I live in Wisconsin now and can't believe how few deer there are on the vast expanses of public land. The state is allowing over harvests and eventually it is going to bite the state in the rear through reduced revenue.

@@richarddean3154 Gotta have a wolf season again to balance out the deer herd. Northern Minnesota Northern Wisconsin and the UP of Michigan are all areas where deer numbers are way down. I follow a guy that hunts Northern Minnesota and all they see is wolf tracks and wolf scat now. 8-10 years ago they would see 10-20 deer a season and shoot a Buck every few years. They want to hunt south now because there are no deer. The wolves have to be controlled. 🐺🐺🦌🦌

@@nightingaleofsorrow9349 I absolutely agree. MN and WI reintroduced another predator into areas that were already well-managed by humans and their hunting and development practices. Wolves may have eventually migrated into northern Minnesota and Wisconsin at their current numbers - but I doubt it. Animals as smart as wolves know where they fit in and where they don't - certainly to a much higher degree than the DNR. It's yet another example of government and elite hubris.

Great content. Yeah for me i find it is the adventure, that is like 80% of it for myself. I just like trying different things and see what happens, that is what i like best with hunting.

Dan and Josh, I'm bummed I missed this show last night. I would have like to hear Dan's thoughts on Jeff Pritzl the deer czar from the WIDNR. He was on the Huntr Podcast recently and I feel like he is so out of touch with the issues in the state of Wisconsin. It would be interesting to hear you guys have him on and have Dan discuss the state. The Huntr guys are not from WI and didn't really know how to press him on the issues of CWD, all the different seasons, wolves... etc. I live in the northern part of the state in Bayfield County and feel like we're forgotten about in most issues and decisions. Thanks guys and
    great job as always.

Northern lower Michigan public land with bow is fun. They are kinda a pain, but a riot 100-130” on public in northern lower what a prize. Heck might be 5-1/2?

I'm telling you Dan you want pressure and big (for the area) bucks New Jersey especially south of i195 or in the mountains out in the northwest of the state. Not to mention bears are abundant there

(Ground hunting)My biggest regret I called in 2 mature bucks but one came through an area that was impassible it was so thick where I was that there was a trail that went around the thicket and entered into it on down the trail so I had my back to the thicket It came in literally having to jump around like a rabbit to get through it and the other buck came down the trail. They both came in at the same time one at my 7 o’clock and the other at 3 o’clock down the trail that wound around and into thicket I thought my ears were messing with me because both bucks were coming in at the same time that confusion caused me to hesitate just long enough for those bucks to get right on top of me. Never got a shot..

Pennsylvania is starting to follow the same cwd protocols that dan says Wisconsin has done and is doing. We now have a extra late season antlerless rifle hunt in certain areas. Im sure soon will be the whole state. The goal seems to be to decimate the herd, which sucks because we are starting to see much bigger and better quality bucks every year.

How come I see tons of dead doe on the side of 94 in the fall time. Come over from North Dakota expecting to kill a deer and drive back after a week of rifle hunting public land west of Menominee empty handed.
I’m sure I wasn’t in an area or pocket of deer but didn’t expect that nonsense. Haven’t been back since and I travel the state regularly for my job.
Wisconsin is a great state to deer hunt just not the WMAs I visited during rifle season.

And changing weapons in those seasons too I believe. Family says rifles can be used late season now. The only season they need is a wolf season.
