Hilariously. The reason Floor did Frozen was because of how much her daughter loved it😂
Yup. Floor said she was tired of listening to it, so figured she'd just sing it herself as a gift to her daughter Freja.
Well I see that we have something in common! Our daughter had a "Frozen" Christmas stocking with a button that played the song 😆
The piano was played by Joost van den Broek, a dear friend of Floor's and keyboardist from her first band, After Forever. He is currently Arjen Anthony Lucassen's right hand man for Ayeron and keyboardist and director for his live performances. Arjen "discovered" Floor when she was sixteen, so they collaborate frequently, along with Floor's "little" sister, who is slightly taller than Floor's 6'1". Loved your reaction to this incredible woman, and her friend Joost. It is truly my belief that they arrived from the same planet to grace us with their music.
Joost is also a famous music producer including the last 3 Epica albums as well as Blackbriar, Powerwolf, Blind Guardian, Stream of Passion, Mayan, Vuur, and Ex Libris. He is associated with the famous Dutch recording studio Sandlane.
Officially, his name nowadays is SIR Joost van den Broek.
The dude has been knighted by the Dutch King.

Floor did these type of home produced cover videos for all of us during the lockdowns. "Let it Go" was the 1st one she did for her daughter Freja, who also loved the Frozen movies. She also did a cover of "Into the Unknown".

There’s not many singers that would do such a stripped back version of this song. With just a piano as backing there is nowhere to hide. But Floor made it look easy. Beautiful piano too.

This is great! Probably my favorite of Floor's Covid times home made covers. She has done this a couple of times before, but this is most mature of them. Powerful, but also so vulnerable performance. ⛄👍
One of the few good things to come out of the covid lockdowns.....Floor started putting out these incredible solo performances.
Most of these covers were done at their home during the Covid LOCKDOWN in Sweden. The videographer is her husband, Hannes Van Dahl, drummer of Sabaton, metal band famous for epic battle songs of skirmishes of WW1 & WW2. Floor did these videos to stay in touch with the fans of Nightwish.
I did their song "Christmas Truce" and LOVED IT!

I love Floors take on this song, especially sitting in a rocking chair in front of a mike with nothing but a piano!!
Another point is the fact that most people seem to think that this is a cover of a Heart song but it isn't as their's is also a cover as well.
The group that wrote this never got the credit they deserved, which is not very good!!

this is not live. these are the covers she did during covid time to stay in shape vocally. tommy from sabaton helped her with many of her videos. this piano i think it was joost from after forever her previous band who played it. oblivion is another great cover of her

This is my favorite Heart song, and oh, how she killed it. Getting the right level of melancholy emotion, and able to use her vocal power to belt like she needed to. And she also hit that G#5, no mean feat. Altogether beautifully memorable.

Floor even makes covering Ann Wilson look easy. This was recorded in a shed in her back yard that they turned into a recording studio during Covid. The camera work was done by her husband Hannes and the piano was recorded by the keyboardist from her old band After Forever.
Floor connected so well with us her fans during the lockdowns for covid. She is such a wonderful person, sweet as pie, and not a bit of diva in her. I am a guy that appreciates great vocals from any person, and Floor amazes me. She was born with natural talent, and has honed it into a perfect vocal instrument. First vocalist I ever heard at 56 who's voice made me go, " Holy S**t!" I am just grateful to have discovered her and Nightwish.

A man of culture and refinement I see! Just in case you haven't heard of them, let me recommend Haley Reinhart and Morgan James. Their duet of Dear Prudence is a hidden gem. Haley's version of Creep with Post Modern Jukebox is a masterclass in vocal technique, and Morgan's version of Take Me to Church with just a piano (played by Scott Bradlee) is stunning.

Floor makes all her covers her own. When Floor sings, she draws you into the lyrics with all the emotion in her vocals. This is at Floor's home studio, created during the pandemic lock downs. If you do her Frozen "Let It Go", from her home studio, please do the remastered version. "Let It Go" was her first home studio share,but needed to be remastered because the instruments were overbearing and had to be reconfigured to allow Floor's vocals to be showcased. Floor has done a lot of great covers on her channel but none of them are actually "live" recordings. Her husband does the video recording with a bunch of fun angles throughout and they produced these songs for fun during covid. No doubt she can actually sing while sitting down though if she wants. She has an actual live version of Hows the Heart 'acoustic' from Nightwish where she sits.
She sang these in her studio. It wasn't lip syncing.
@@zoeystar4668 not lip syncing no, for sure she is singing but she does do a studio recording of the song first and then films multiple takes of the song for the video. It's why you have all the different angles throughout. She could just film a live version of the song and it would be great but guessing she just wants it perfect for the sound recording and this also adds more flavor to the music videos.
Of all of Floor's covid period songs. this is my favorite. I love Ann Wilson, and I think that Floor does her, and the song full justice.

1st of june is my once in a lifetime lullaby - I have tickets for her live show in Eindhoven/NL. And believe me, beeing 64 now I never ever had such a huge anticipation on a concert like this time. And to be clear, I've seen at least 500 of them. Would love to see this track and 'Slow Love Slow' on top of her new albumstuff. Can't wait - get wet eyes only thinking of it.....

This is the best cover of this song I have heard so far. I used to get in the car and sing this at the top of my lungs when I needed to express my frustration. There's something therapeutic about it. Floor is just an astounding singer. Thanks for reacting to this.

@@MrsRealistic Thanks for the generous guesses, but I mislead you. 'Alone' was written in 1983 and released by Heart in 1987 - that's recent music to me. Play something from Nat Cole recorded in the '50s and I'll sing along with that, too. Actually, I'm 86.

I had the feeling, it had post-production, which is fine. The piano was top. The only thing I miss about her performances, and I do only because we are spoiled with the genius of Diana and Dimash, that in one hand her jumps are not as smooth, there is a tiny break always, and on the other hand those tones in different registers don't harmonize as well, not sounding related. But again, only because of D&D....and some others.

It is "LUL" on the piano.
Ann Wilson made slower version of her beautiful hit. I think Floor used that one to her interpretation. Try find on YT "Heart, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra - Alone".
Great reaction but I have still this same problem watching that kind of videos on YT. When Floor is singing I'm always focused on her and her voice and I usually forgot to watch the reaction (I mean face reaction of youtubers, for example) 😉

Just for the record - It is I10 who wrote 'Alone' - but Heart made it famous - and Floor made it perfect (and I love Ann W - but....)
Floor has sang this live twice that I know of. The first time was before Nightwish, and the second was with 3 members of Nightwish.
Ad hoc you can find it live in 2009 with the Red Limo String Quartett, with NW on the Baltic Princess 2015 and during Christmas Metal Symphany in Balingen and Kristianstad(cant recognize what band) in 2013...but sadly all vids in non-professional quality.

Even though this looks “live” Im not totally sure. A couple spots don’t seem to quite match up, so she might have recorded the audio separately in a more controlled environment and lined it up to the performance.

I'm sure that's the case, video and audio recorded separately. But hey, this was made at the height of the virus that cannot be named, and she was keeping us fans fed with regular new stuff which I'm sure was appreciated by many.

Not live. Audio and video are recorded separately and then mixed together. Pretty standard for music videos.
Even though it’s not completely live, I do think that she did it in one take. I guess the piano was recorded previously (by Joost Van Den Broek) and she was hearing that piano through the skin colored in-ear monitors she was using. If you follow her lips, specially at the end of the notes, you can see it’s not playback. And there are just 2 cameras, one on a tripod and the other one hold by Hannes (her husband) playing with zoom and different angles. This was recorded at their home studio in Sweden, where they have very good equipment, this green and gold microphone is the legendary AKG C12VR valves mic and it costs between 5000 and 6000 dollars. This was done during covid, so I guess Joost recorded the piano, sent it to her and then she recorded the vocals in one take and sent it to Joost to be mixed in his professional studio in Holland. To sing while sitting is difficult but to sing while sitting on a rocking chair it’s even more difficult.

Floors all Day Looks, youll find on her Web Presence Floor World and YT Channel (all costfree), perhaps not, or as you choose as Recap, there are multiple Vids of Her not or not just Singing, and without any Make Up:). I recon This because i think it would be something that you really enjoy watching, no matter if you make it public or not, Lady. She really do just vibe with you in quite some Things, in my humble Opinion.

@MrsRealistic I think that picture is from the cover art done for her solo album with less, more natural makeup. It is a beautiful look for her. I have seen her with little or no make up in some of the home videos on her channel.
She has a series of Storytime videos which give a little look at her life and family during the 2020 time on and off the ranch in Sweden. The short Fan Friday Q&A video are fun, and give some info as well.

As good as this is and as much as I love and appreciate Floor, nobody has equalled Ann Wilson singing Alone. That's the risk of doing covers, they most always disappoint or fall short of expectations. The only 2 exceptions I've heard are Disturbed singing "Sound of Silence" on the Conan Show and Nightwish and Marko singing the Pink Floyd song "High Hopes". There are no words to describe either of those covers/tributes. Unbelievable comes to mind but it doesn't do either justice. They have to be heard to be believed.
So - are you aware that the Heart version is itself a cover ? The original pre dates their version and was by I-ten
