She blows my mind every time I see her singing. I was in that crowd, and for most of the people it was the first time seeing Floor with Nightwish. We were all blown away and instantly fell in love. I can't even really discribe it. I remember my jaw hurting from standing wide open most of the time. I saw a lot of disbelieve in the eyes of people around me. It was just a perfect night.
We hardly need you to speak during your reactions-your facial expressions say it all, but please, do keep talking! ;-)
I used to think goddesses were a myth. Then I saw Floor
All the bad news in the world, or this. What an easy choice!
This is a modern Wagner, horned helmet, viking singing... a true sword maiden
Marco does an amazing cover of High Hopes with Nightwish during the Tarja era. Definitely worth checking out.
If you are wanting mind blowing - check out Yours is an empty hope, it will give a completely new view on Floor's vocal capabilities. Also if you are looking for a great Marko song to really hear his amazing voice, check out Islander from Live in Tampere
What's absurdly impressive is that since Marko's departure Floor now sings BOTH parts. I don't understand how she's physically capable of pulling in her breath quickly enough between parts, but holy hell she manages it.
Those high belted notes with vibrato in this song really remind me of a young Ann Wilson.
If you like Marco's voice you should check out some of the songs he has done with his other bands. I think Tarot Tides shows the breadth of his abilities quite well.
Floor has said that this is one of the more challenging songs for her to sing, I think because it stays so high, as you mentioned. Everdream was song #5 in the 15 song set, just before Storytime.
This Wacken set list for Floor is so ridiculously demanding ( BTW , shes been doing some of the hardest set list the past 20 yrs) on her voice and she hits every song out the park and to think she was with Nightwish for only 10 months at this time is crazy .
Last week I could see Floor live in Hertme, NL in her show ... I was only about 4 meters away from her .... you think all these videos with Nightwish, their UA-cam covers, or their solo shows prepares you for what to expect ... No, it doesn't ... The stage presence and that voice is, from that small distance something that completely blows you away.
Fantastic vocal breakdown, Its such a joy to watch you analyze Floor
I knew you would love Marko's voice. Both him and floor have impeccable technique and are also very seasoned artists so they have full control over their voices.
I love how you fangirl over Floor. I mean its hard not to. Whatever Nightwish song you choose to listen to next will blow you away, and you have yet to get to all the solo stuff she did on Beste Zangers and on her own you tube channel :)
I think my favorite parts of your reactions, Bethany, is your "Yes, we're going back!", as you radiate joy and pleasure in your discovery. You just bubble with personality, and it's just so fun to see you watch somebody who epitomizes everything I'm sure you teach. I can see in your eyes and smile that you are watching masters of composition, virtuosos of their instruments (both musical and voice), and wizards of reaching into your chest and touching your heart. I know, because I can see my feelings reflected in your reactions. I don't think anybody on UA-cam enjoys it to the level that you do. Of course, I've been subbed since your first Nightwish reaction ... and I will be continue to accompany you on this amazing journey as you discover EVERY SINGLE SONG is a unique story, a life-changing experience and a blessing to us all.
It's always very enjoyable to watch you react to and analyze Floor and Nightwish.
" Ever Dream " is the sixth single by Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish. Released as the first single from the band's fourth studio album, Century Child, it was the group's first single in two years, following " Deep Silent Complete " in 2000.
Ah so great to see you enjoy this, as many of us did on our first (and subsequent) listens!
