Thanks for posting. I'm impressed by how well PSU ran the ball against Miami in the first half, but the Lion passing game was totally overwhelmed. Nice to see Zack Mills get into a rhythm. Defense made a few stops but not enough. Very, very few teams have dominated in Beaver Stadium the way the Canes did. What a team they had.
Most talented? No question. No team comes close to that assembly of NFL talent. Best overall team ever when considering other metrics like coaching, execution, points for/against, average margin of victory, difficulty of schedule, etc? The *1995 Nebraska Cornhuskers* are slightly ahead of this Miami team, all things being considered. The Huskers beat every single team on their schedule by at least 14 pts and averaged 54 pts per game. The 2001 Miami team really struggled against V-Tech, even after getting 5 turnovers.
@@persona-non-grata That 95 Nebraska team is not the greatest, there are plenty of teams that would pounce on them and the 01 Hurricanes is one of them. 95 Nebraska didn’t play that tough of a schedule either, they played five teams with first year head coaches and played not only super weak out of conference teams, but the in conference teams weren’t much better and they beat a Florida team that clearly did not show up. The 01 Hurricanes had VT beat 26-3 at halftime and put the game in cruise control, they weren’t expecting VT to come back like that and VT was a really good team at the time and playing them at home was not an easy task. Nebraska’s closest game was against a 3-8 Washington team, that is embarrassing, and they should have had two other close games against Colorado and Kansas State. Colorado got robbed of three touchdowns they obviously scored on Nebraska but the refs called them back on nonsense and Kansas State was coming back on Nebraska but they had to put their starters back in to regain their score margin and to also keep Kansas State from scoring again, which is hilarious. The 01 Hurricanes is the best team to ever do it.
Agree somewhat. But as time goes on that schedule really hurts 2001 miami. Only played 2 ranked teams during the regular season. Syracuse was the highest ranked team we played. Wooof. That nebraska team was the most undeserving team to play for a natty in the last 40 years.

It's no surprise Josh Allen got so much better for the bills after Ken Dorsey became his qb coach. I know those miami teams were loaded but Dorsey was so freaking good too. Miss dorsey as our qb. Think van Dyke is the best we've had since dorsey

Nah, Ohio State got double-hosed toward the end of regulation on the non-holding where Jennings held Gamble twice, then Gamble caught the ball inbounds which was ruled incomplete. Forced the punt and setting up Parrish's big return putting Miami in position to tie the game. This will always be ignored by Miami fans. Also the pass interference was a bad call, clearly should have been defensive holding basically putting the ball in the same spot. I believe Miami was the better team, but Ohio State just won the the battle at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball that night.
