Glad to see you got Wojtek the bear in one shot Steve, my parents took me to see him at Edinburgh zoo when I was 3 years old. My father told me Wojtek's ears pricked up when he called to him in Polish, and he lumbered over in his enclosure to eat the cigarettes my father threw to him.... I visited the statue in the gardens when I was up in Edinburgh in September... a superb memorial to a Polish hero....

Wonderful videography. I got lost a few time when you abruptly switched location. Kept me on my toes. I was dragged up in Glasgow for 20 years but later on lived on lived and worked in Old Reekie for 5 years. New town architecture still looks marvelous.

It truly breaks my heart not being able to visit my home town. I haven't been here in a year. Haven't seen mum in a year and thanks to the upcoming chaos of the new variant of COVID my 9 hour trip in January won't happen. Thankfully we have Steve and this walk about to help. I love just walking through Edinburgh, love the hills, the buildings and the views. It's a special city and the people that visit it are left in awe. Thanks for this lovely video of a favourite city. I grew up in Fife but have lived in the South of England for the last 40 years. Of course I have not been able to visit at all in the last couple of years but really look forward to my next visit. In the sixties, as youngsters, we would get off the train in Waverley and set off for an evenings enjoyment tramping many of the streets you walked. Most have not changed that much, but many beyond recognition. Thanks again.

Great video again! I haven't been in Edinburgh since 1st December 2019 for a wedding. It certainly is a compact cosmopolitan city judging by the cameras and variety of languages spoken in the background. I suppose everyone prefers their own home city because of the familiar and where you feel comfortable mine being Glasgow. But nevertheless Edinburgh is good for a visit. It was great to see Edinburgh on a sunny day as, where I live over in the west near Glasgow , we haven't seen blue sky for days. That car brought back memories as the first one I owned was a maroon and white Ford Anglia, back in the seventies. I hope you and Alicja have a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Just watching your Edinburgh walk, brilliant. We've been quite a lot and got to be one of the best walking cities anywhere. Went to the last Tattoo and did some walking around the Fringe. Wonderful. And as much as I enjoy your commentaries, you were quite right to do this walk in silence - it's a contemplative stroll. But a thought: when arriving at intersections or squares, consider stopping and panning around. I first noticed this on Stafford Street, where passing the first intersection without panning automatically omitted William St., one of the more attractive spots in the New Town. Ditto Charlotte and St. Andrews squares - the camera's view was consistently straight ahead...the same thing continuously until the end of that stretch. Edinburgh is such a wonderful city, though with so many videos now online, novelty and nuance come into play in terms presenting something new and tapping into the 'Oh, wow!' factor. Also, if you've not already done so, a walk 'round Stockbridge, including a stroll through the residential neighbourhood running up the side of the hill to Queensferry Street...so, Ann Street, Danube Street, St. Bernard's Crescent etc. plus St. Stephen Street, the Jamaica Street steps and Circus Circus Lane, Saxe Coburg Place and Glenogle Colonies and Baths etc. Maybe include Dean Village too. There are videos of the area, but nothing as ambitious as Stockbridge deserves. And it would be a fresh 'discovery' for many of you viewers who are visitors who fail to venture beyond the immediate city centre, or locals who take this jewel of a location for granted and never bother with it. Ditto Bruntsfield - a wonderful high street, the links and the Meadows, fantastic residential streets.... Thank you.

Lovely day that, was on the beach at Barassie on 27th Dec with the dog and the weather was just insanely mild, sky was amazing and the sea was mega calm, we all made the most of it by taking in a really long walk. Thanks again Steve.

OOh I should have watched that a few weeks ago & got all festive! I thought I'd seen it but was thinking of your Christmas mkt vid. Edinburgh is so beautiful but it was heaving wasn't it! You dodging other pedestrians reminded me of living in London, it's all you do, dodge people! I must go up one Christmas with my girl who went this yr with mates, her 1st visit, she loved it. You made me look up 2 things, Waverly bridge, to see what was under it and the Scott memorial, I thought it looked like Alberts! Enjoyed that walk Steve, I couldn't do it in reality with my knackered knee!

Thanks for this lovely video of a favourite city. I grew up in Fife but have lived in the South of England for the last 40 years. Of course I have not been able to visit at all in the last couple of years but really look forward to my next visit. In the sixties, as youngsters, we would get off the train in Waverley and set off for an evenings enjoyment tramping many of the streets you walked. Most have not changed that much, but many beyond recognition. Thanks again.

Great video again! I haven't been in Edinburgh since 1st December 2019 for a wedding. It certainly is a compact cosmopolitan city judging by the cameras and variety of languages spoken in the background. I suppose everyone prefers their own home city because of the familiar and where you feel comfortable mine being Glasgow. But nevertheless Edinburgh is good for a visit.

It was great to see Edinburgh on a sunny day as, where I live over in the west near Glasgow , we haven't seen blue sky for days. Just watching your Edinburgh walk, brilliant. We've been quite a lot and got to be one of the best walking cities anywhere. Went to the last Tattoo and did some walking around the Fringe. Wonderful. And as much as I enjoy your commentaries, you were quite right to do this walk in silence - it's a contemplative stroll.
But a thought: when arriving at intersections or squares, consider stopping and panning around. I first noticed this on Stafford Street, where passing the first intersection without panning automatically omitted William St., one of the more attractive spots in the New Town. Ditto Charlotte and St. Andrews squares - the camera's view was consistently straight ahead...the same thing continuously until the end of that stretch.
Edinburgh is such a wonderful city, though with so many videos now online, novelty and nuance come into play in terms presenting something new and tapping into the 'Oh, wow!' factor.
Also, if you've not already done so, a walk 'round Stockbridge, including a stroll through the residential neighbourhood running up the side of the hill to Queensferry Street...so, Ann Street, Danube Street, St. Bernard's Crescent etc. plus St. Stephen Street, the Jamaica Street steps and Circus Circus Lane, Saxe Coburg Place and Glenogle Colonies and Baths etc. Maybe include Dean Village too. There are videos of the area, but nothing as ambitious as Stockbridge deserves. And it would be a fresh 'discovery' for many of you viewers who are visitors who fail to venture beyond the immediate city centre, or locals who take this jewel of a location for granted and never bother with it. Ditto Bruntsfield - a wonderful high street, the links and the Meadows, fantastic residential streets....

Lovely day that, was on the beach at Barassie on 27th Dec with the dog and the weather was just insanely mild, sky was amazing and the sea was mega calm, we all made the most of it by taking in a really long walk.

OOh I should have watched that a few weeks ago & got all festive! I thought I'd seen it but was thinking of your Christmas mkt vid. Edinburgh is so beautiful but it was heaving wasn't it! You dodging other pedestrians reminded me of living in London, it's all you do, dodge people! I must go up one Christmas with my girl who went this yr with mates, her 1st visit, she loved it. You made me look up 2 things, Waverly bridge, to see what was under it and the Scott memorial, I thought it looked like Alberts! Enjoyed that walk Steve, I couldn't do it in reality with my knackered knee!
