Can this program ideal for absolute 3d beginner(i never used Blender or another 3d program)? The fact that is tiny modelling program means it's more beginner-friendly but there's a lot of 3d technical words ... So tutorials could be neat ... Good vid by the way !😁👍
Made 3d model, extracted as gif of pixelled rotating model, broke that into frames and dropped into my 2d top down little project. Useful! Free 3d models for 2d pixel games.
I was just screwing with this a few days ago -- I really like the way 200 ~ 500 face models look -- unfortunately -- it's kind of a crappy modeler -- there's not an easy way to create faces with more than 4 points, or to create edge loops, etc. -- selecting interior faces is impossible as far as I can tell -- you have to use the arrows to rotate -- and the ".txt" file format is just bizarre (yes you can export but... who wants to go through all those extra steps...). -- Anyway, I'd love to use a tool that's like halfway between this and blender.
OBJs, if I'm not mistaken, are basically text files as well. You can try open one with notepad. They just have a different extension. The author could/should just rename from .txt to something else, just to show that they aren't meant to be open this way.
god damn it looks like it could've been used on a symbian phones easily XD i wonder if it can be ported to old 90s consoles, with joypad usage, that would be hella interesting!
You said there isn't any use for this thing. But isn't it easier to model a car in this, then extract some pictures of it from different angles to use in a pixel game? That way you don't have to redraw the car 8 times for the different angles by hand.
yes. There's a japanese guy who made a program to do just that. Kinda crude, but it works. Don't have the link on hand though. But it's easy to find, I'm sure.
Im having some problems, idk if im doing something wrong or what, but im using this program for a school project and when i add a texture that has black, picocad will show it as transparent instead. Please i need some help

Unity & Unreal: 4k polys is considered low-poly. PicoCad -- hold my beer.
hold my bit
hold my very high poly
Hold my chunk
I saw it on Twitter a while back and pretty much melted from cuteness
I'm following this project for months and it is so interesting and lovely. Thx for introduce it to us.
Tiny gem. Thanks for discovery.
Honestly, this feels like a harder, slightly more complicated, yet somehow less complicated version of Blender, mixed with INTESE EYE STRAIN.
Would be fun for a contest, to see who can make the most amazing objects with this editor 😊
Constraints breed creativity
I guess this is somewhat the 3D equivalent to Aesprite lol
Asepoly. lol
Seems like it
Aseprite is very powerful, this is more of a curiosity, imo crocotile 3d would be an more apropriate comparison
@@xeroxparc Thanks for mentioning Crocotile, it seems cool and i should definitely try it out.

Free 3d models for 2d pixel games.
Isn't PICO8 extremely portable? If it is, all platforms supported by PICO8 basically got a 3D modeler. Time to model using that DIY smartwatch...
looks like 3D models on DS
so freakin cool! I love this!
I think it would be useful to make games look like those early 3D PC games like Doom
I like real new old-school hardware, but never got into the virtual hardware thing.

Try Wings3d

This video and software changed me as a man and has cured my clinical depression.
Thank you.
Oh. looks like i haven't been here in a while.
Finally.
I was one of those who pestered Mike on twitter to cover this ever since it launched. LOL
3d modelling software made cute :3
Would there be a way to export it to unity/blender while keeping that pixelated look?
this one’s shaping up to be a classic

This looks so fun I regret not buying the itchio bundle that recently included it :'(
Ummm... it's free.
I think you're confused
The recent itch.io bundle has a kinda similar thing called spritestack
@@chaflem6333 Spritestack is abandonware though. Sadly.
That was really cool thanks!

Oh, I remember checking this one before, but I never really delve in it
Tiny lasagna tiny pizza
Could you do a video on how to transfer models to Godot ?
i might use this unironically someday
thank you!
can you import simple objs to the cad program?

looks cool haha!
my Mac won't download picoCAD. it says it can't verify that its virus free. What do I do?

Black is the Pico default transparency color. There is no way to change that sadly. probably late for you, but at least you know.
@@DFX2KX yeah i found out a long time ago, cheers for it anyways
@@DFX2KX nope. You can change the transparent color in the alpha setting which is up by the background color
nice
anyone know where I can find free 3d models for picocad to play with?
Go Pico yeah yeah go Pico oh
Thanks!!!
* loughs in blender * (i think most of the people that use this are blender users)
I dont use blender, but I use picoCAD
@@yablock7346 interesting
I’m using this to make fanart
To me it seems more n64 stylish
Its kinda like source sdk
why do i have to pay five dollars for a lightweight 16 MB mini modeler
Blender, take notes! lol
Wow..
There is no D in Zee.
Nor in Zeta it's origin.
Zed is for people who like to say it wrong
"or 'Zee' for those who like to say it wrong"
I thought that was funny
