Hehe my kids know the chorus it's sooo catchy, and I only have to say "SpaceMan" and they're off. I played it in the car and my wife looked at me like I'd lost my mind, while they were singing along happy as Larry. Made me very proud
My 8 year old is the same and is coming with me to see them live because I couldn't get a babysitter 🤣🤟
The lyrics (and the video) are full of inside jokes about SF related childhood memories. I always imagine Finch presenting his part to the EC guys saying: "Now think how people run this through a translator..."
Just a few examples: Fred vom Jupiter is an early 80s Neue Deutsche Welle (German New Wave) song, wich originally was conceived as a school project. The mentioning of cabbages referrs to a French slapstick comedy movie titled The Cabbage Soup (German title translates to Louis And His Extraterrestial Heads of Cabbage) about a grumpy old cabbage farmer who gets visited by a chubby human like alien which communicates with that "ldldldldl" sound.
There so much more references. The Martians' movie "ACK ACK" can be hear, Star Wars, Star Trek, Men In Black, The three boobed girl from Total Recall and of course Elton John's Rocket Man, …

This is actually the first Electric Callboy song I ever heard. It's not their best track but it's still an amazing song. I absolutely love Finch's work in it; his voice and energy works so weirdly well with Kevin and Nico. He's an odd dude, EC seem like odd dudes so I guess that's why it worked so well. (I mean this in the nicest way possible; better to be odd than some boring normal person lol).
I really must say how much I love the video. Pascal and Olli did an incredible job with it and it's part of why it was so appealing to me and why I decided to watch more of their stuff. I'm pumped to get my Spaceman shirt and the new Rock Sound magazine with the exclusive shirt. I think I'll wear the Rock Sound shirt to the Cleveland show. It's such a solid design; it really fits with the 80s feel of stuff like Hypa Hypa and Pump It.

I can't remember if you've done any Nightwish (if not, wtf are you waiting for?!) But their singer is married to the drummer for Swedish metal band, Sabaton, and their guitarist is Tommy Johansson. Except...he's secretly a power metal GOD on his own! He puts out a new cover every Fri on his channel. He's not just an incredible guitar player, but multi-instrumentalist and blow your mind singer!!! I highly recommend checking out his cover of Green Day's Basketcase. You're gonna be impressed!

Most of the time the original video or some of the most viewed reactions have comments with the translation. This one is tricky because it has a lot of references that are nearly impossible to translate.
Hehe you did well, I love that everyone notices the lady with the 3 boobs, and I think ol Kev's huffing on a vape rather than a hookah.
Love that you're delving into EC, might be worth checking some of their older stuff too, the stuff with Sushi leans on the more serious side (one of the reasons I believe he left is because he wanted to lose the more weird and wonderful memey stuff) but it's still brilliant.
The Scene is one of my favourites, everyone loves Crystals which has incredible verses and (to me at least) a meh chorus, Supernova is brilliant, the original version of Prism, I love their cover of Cinema, there's some great stuff.
Oooh give MC Thunder a go, turn on captioning as it's hard to make out and the lyrics are brilliant (the first one has captioning, I dont think the second one does but that's easier to hear) the first one still has Sushi singing, the second is with Nico and it's a ride and a half (in a cadilac)
