Some suburbs like Rochdale or Oldham might not be winning any beauty contests anytime soon. 😂 But personally, I’ve never had any beef with folks, north or south. Now, northerners can be a bit more, shall we say, feisty? 😅 Although that's not quite the case everywhere. So, where do you plant your flag? North or South? Realistically speaking, London and the south-east are very different from the rest of the south. I'd argue that East Anglia and wales are quite similar, both very agricultural and fairly poor
As an East Midlands guy, based in Nottingham i'd rather be associated with the North! However i have friends in Northamptonshire which are classed in BBC as EastMidlands , but are surely South!
Northampton is just down the road from Coventry, and it definitely doesn't feel like the south. I dunno know though, because I've met people from Peterborough and Norwich who claim to be from the south, which makes me think they're just a bit wealthier than the average midlander.
