Happy to see u always working on making cool stuff. I spend a lot of $ making trick stuff too so when ur videos pop up I check u and sabo out right away. Respect !
I don't blame you for getting rid of the Raptor. Once something gets stolen from you it's just bad memories. Matt where do you get your carb jets for 400ex?
That is a really clean banshee. 98 looked good. I'm more of a 93 and 96 Banshee guy. I would put a prodesign pro flow style air filter system ( uni filter ). I think they still make those. Definitely t5 pipes.
@@garagemcmatt yup... K&N are garbage! I had a 93 back in 94 that my dad bought new and then he got the 96 and the Pro design proflow system that was all we ever used.
love the banshee especially since it was dang near untouched . i have a thing for saving stuff that can be fixed and saved . so id be going to get that banana banshee and do a frame swap . us REAL quad guys need to save as many 2 stroke quads as possible . its not always about making money . sometimes its just something to do for the passion . i wish i had mechanical skills like you and Sabo with a set up like Sabo . id be going crazy on builds 🤣🤣. sometimes i wish i could let the Devil inside me out on people who abuse animals and kids . i think id finally get a peaceful nights rest for once .
Honestly I think whoever is selling a Banshee is sniffing something because of the prices. Everyone around here asks the same insane prices for them. I found one months ago on Market Place here in my area that was just a roller and the dude as trying to get $2,500 for it. As far as I'm concerned when the engine or anything vital is missing the bike isn't worth squat. I don't care if it's complete with suspension and plastics. If the engine and anything engine related is gone it's now just a $700 bike if you're lucky. Everyone thinks they've got a block of gold sitting around.
I think alot of people either A bought it during the lock down and can't understand the bad purchase they made or B still have c19 prices in their minds and can't let go
@@garagemcmatt That and I'd add in C: Nostalgia, to the list as well. A lot of people try to bank on Nostalgia as well even if whatever they're selling isn't rare or uncommon. Banshee's while awesome are far from rare and can be easily found. But all of them are sold for insane prices. The best deal that I found on Market Place was a 2004 Yamaha Warrior going for $1,000. It was original and complete but the engine was blown up. Which is what I was looking for because I thought it was a good vessel for holding an old-school air-cooled 400cc 2-stroke I have out of a vintage IT400. I passed on it because I just didn't have the money or location for such a project. Since I have two vintage dirt bikes I need to worry about first I let it go. But that's what I'd like to do eventually. Get a Warrior with a bad engine and stuff either a YZ400 or 465 engine into it. Everyone's all caught up on the Banshee and tend to do the same thing everyone else does.
nice the oem gold rims with oem dunlops i do like the black yellow combo with gold rims i got a 1988 banshee all oem. (i mean i got oem parts) all original paint, oem gold rims and dunlop tyres dated 1987 all. white rear plastic oem them without the hole for the heel protection cause 1987/88 dont have that so there no mounting hole. but no front plastics i had to buy some with cut fender in white. have oem gas tank cover and radiator cover, still oem headlight with yamaha protection grill. but i run some after market silver rims with tyres, and black front plastics 2nd hand. some new gas tank and raditator cover from aliexpress, rear plastic is blue but painted black with a sticker kit got it for cheap (front rear and raditor cover for 50€ but front had cut for large gas tank i didnt know at the time) i replaced the foot peg and nerfbars with some xrw nerfbars with large footpegs. still have oem headers but not silencers it came with fatboy 2 that i ran but now i got full fmf set on it (way better then stock smooth power delivery and revs higher) it came with vforce 2 and i installed a twin air air filter it had a k&n with home made adaptor and holes drilled in cover that i traded with a friend for clean air box with all oem parts for normal air filter. i do love it. but its still a 2 stroke it doesnt like to ride in 1st gear and slow it bogg up a bit. if you dont give it full beans it was fine with stock headers but fmf give it all the beans always no chill anyway some day im gonna find a 2nd front plastic kit with none cut fenders (dont want new cause my rear aint fresh white after so many years) great quad always runs great i love it the 1988 cause its different not the usual grey frame basic shit. its lots of tiny things different. from front break disks, rear swing air, bearing carior, all different. minor details but its cool
Yeah the first few years had some difference with the front calipers and the swing arm had those holes by the shock mounts, I know the came with a smaller carrier too. Sucks you live far away I have a pile of banshee plastics. There's a set of oem white fronts without cuts but someone painted them black
Comment love bro Frm CHI Once the clutch is in it put a 15 tooth front sprocket on it with the 41 rear and RIDE IT!! You will b surprised and very pleased! Not knocking your quad because it looks pretty good, but I never understood the banshee craze. People asking crazy money for them and acting like its the best quad ever. I totally understand all the junk out there. I flipped Powersports stuff for years and I can only say a handful of stuff was actually what people said or nice. The main problem is people just ride them and have no idea on how to maintain them. I wouldn't mind having another banshee one day for a bit if the price was right.
I've been saying I don't understand the crazy values on them. Made from 87 to 06 in America they made millions of them and basically just changed the plastic colors
yup its not that its like craze but its the 2 stroke that people like. but overal its a horrible frame... old, heavy, shitty suspension and brakes. but i love my banshee but its not even great its fun dont get me wrong but for trails rides it sucks i put fmf pipes on them i had it stock for a year it was fine but like no power low end and hit hard in power band but no top end. fmf is cool but low end power is horrible still it doesnt like riding slow, but revs pretty high and power come one smooth. but yeah it like it but it depens on my mood. my raptor 350 is a more chiller ride if i wanna cruise around. banshee is full gaz no chill. got it for like 2000€ needed rebuild got new hotrod cranks and prox piston and oem cylinder 64mm with it its a 1998 but yeah i wont sell it but also wouldnt buy one for more then 4k... ot be honest. but also i would never buy a shitty raptor 350 for 3000-4000€ road legal (or 2500 ish non road legal) still never would pay that for a raptor 350... i paid 1200€ for mine with paper licence plate road legal. that is fine. u know but yeah people go crazy with prices still are crazy prices.. they did go down but not enough... and i cant find good deals... nobody selling anything cheap nowdays cause they probably overpaid and now want sopme of there money back... i see yamaha blaster for 1500€ phase 1 and like 2000++€ fir phase 2 that is hella expensive last time i looked they were around 650-1000€ running...
Yeah thus is actually a nice banshee once cleaned up an being semi oem it has some value there but for an older raptor it was a solid deal i wouldnt have swapped a newer nice raptor even up for it but for the 2013 an all things considered he did good on the banshee but they are dropping in price like crazy! Aside from quite a few folks that dont seem to want to admit it and just leave them listed at 7500 8500+ but i get it sucks to over pay and when you want to sell prices ha e dropped 2-3k in a 8month period
That paper you had on the Raptor is not a title. It’s a certificate of origin, you use those to get an actual title. However that one was very evident that it was one of the replica certificate of origin papers everyone is doing up on the east side. Homemade certificate of origin papers really. Make sure what you got with the banshee is an actual title and not a fake piece of paper that somebody paid someone to get.
