For an action movie, this is a ten because of the twists and the "I didn't see that coming" that pops up. Awesome. Must see.

Great to see this post. As a diagnostic/treatment specialist, who, for 40 years has worked clinically with youth who are “on the spectrum “. This movie adds much to the vision of literal GIFTEDNESS within those challenged by various levels of autism.
I have seen this movie no less than 12 times. I use the first 20 minutes and the last 20 with parents who I help to coach into better understanding how, “still waters run deep”. Christian Wolfe in the movie is not a servant, he is pure genius and a prodigy.
The blend of actors is perfect!

I loved the way he sent her the Pollock painting at the end. A rather "different" social interaction, but one that only she would understand.

The fact that they explore being a mathematical savant, autism, highly advanced cognitive skills, along with the social and the obsessiveness that goes along with that gift is incredible. In addition to his line of work in keeping with duality and secrets coupled with action is yet another layer in a movie
As someone with close family on Autism Spectrum, this made me tear up a little. Happy tears I assure you. It's not often you see a main character in a movie, let alone an action movie, portraying such a character in such an interesting way. I was terrified before watching the movie since Hollywood has a terrible track record on portraying any form of disability/mental illness well. I'm just happy the director and writer took a chance to make something unique and new, and something that will inspire hundreds of people with and without Autism :)
MuseofLullabys I love this film, because it tries to make people look at autism not as a defect, but a difference, a difference that is a gift rather than a disability. The reason why I really appreciate this film is not because I empathize or know people on the autism spectrum (although I do both), but because I have autism, more specifically a high functioning form often referred to as Aspergers that is portrayed by Ben Affleck in this movie. Autism is so widely misunderstood and often perceived negatively. I love how they are attempting to shift it into a more positive light with this film, and being different isn't a bad thing, but a gift. Ben Affleck was spot on in his portrayal, although every individual on the spectrum deals with different issues, and was portrayed at a more extreme end for cinematics and to make a point as often done in films. I love this film because of how I was able to connect so strongly with, and understand the reasons behind the protagonist's behaviour. And I really love how the people in Hollywood finally created a badass character with autism and portrayed it as more of a superpower than a disability, even though it comes with challenges, but we all go through challenges, that's life. Its how we react to them, and the choices we make that define who we are. And mainly just showcases that being different isn't a bad thing, and I really enjoy how they added the search of some of the greatest mathematicians in history, and that in fact a lot of the smartest people in history were thought to have a form of autism.

I have autism...diagnosed in 91...in this movie autism getted way to Romantic, but i realise it's 4 the movie to be a succes.
You should also check out ricky gervais's on this topic autism. That really helped me.
I liked Affleck's performance better than I did Dustin Hoffman's.
loved the movie , the acting , the writing , the directing . It is rare to get a movie that challenges the mind and this one does.
I knew someone like this in school. Brilliant guy, never really talked in class discussions, aced all his exams. He had the pick of the crop come time for internships. Harry probably ended up a fund manager or something.

As a former Accountant, specifically Cost Accountant, as Anna Kendrick’s role, I was thrilled to hear my job jargon and see my duties so visibly illustrated. Finally! 😮😊Loved the movie, a FAV OF MINE and Ben absolutely nailed the role. Anna and J.K. A brilliant supporting cast! ❤️👏🏻

I agree that this is one of his best performances, perhaps his best. And I concur on the comparison to the John Wick movies and also hope for more of these with more revelations.

This is one of my favorite movies to watch over and over again, with a few months in between. For me, it's Affleck's best role. This movie was also my intro to Anna Kendrick, whom I found out later sings very well. The cast whole and the production/direction was totally top-notch. A very under-rated movie.
The Accountant is movie making at its most accomplished. The acting, the directing, the editing is all in top form. As an amateur filmologist I found myself watching it through from start to finish three times in about a month. It's very much like the striking picture puzzle metaphor in the first part. There are a lot of parts, but they all fit together perfectly. It would be hard to do a "spoiler alert" on it, because this movie is not about the end. It's about the journey to reach that end. All the actors, down to the smallest parts, are essential to the outcome, and all are treated with equal importance. I got the DVD in the four dollar bin at WalMart, and it's been worth every penny, and much much more. GET THIS MOVIE.

It saddened me that the government couldn't protect Jeffrey Tambor's character, especially when he had asked for that protection. What Wolff did about his friend's death is nothing short of amazing.

It's awesome to see John Lithgow working again. He was pretty big back in the 80's and starred in quite a few movies.
He was amazing in Dexter. By far the best season of that show thanks to him.

this movie did not get a very good rating with the critics, but the really good movies never do. almost every movie the critics love, i dislike. a lot of the ones they pan are the best ones with the fans !!!! i have seen this movie several times and i enjoy it every time i see it !!!

@@mohammedashian8094 the main actor in The Good Doctor, Shawn Murphy has autism but he has incredible sense and skills to be able to recognize any disease faster than any other doctor. same goes apply to this movie

There are a lot of us like him and we never do anything exciting like this. But as the Lord is my witness we will fuck some shit up when the time comes. When that focus comes in there's nothing that can stop us, just like you see in this movie. That moment when you record yourself at normal speed but when you play it back it's twice as fast. Yea that's a real thing...
Never diagnosed, but I know what I am, and I know exactly what you are talking about. Only a couple of people on this planet know my past and what I’m capable of. I’m no accountant, but I have a job so unique that MAYBE 5-6,000 people in the US can claim to work in the same profession, and I’m payed well for it. It’s above board, no shadow world shit like the movie. High school all American, full D1 scholarship. I keep to myself, though I do have a beautiful girlfriend who appreciates me and my uniqueness. I’m a fairly nice guy, but do not fuck with me. We live in an era of keyboard warriors, so I’m just gonna stop there. However, if you come up on my radar and I take a particular negative interest in you you’d better close all your social media accounts and go underground. Never killed anyone, but I’m not above it. I will however rain hell fire down on you and find all of your secrets if you fuck with mine. I don’t fuck around until you fuck with me or mine.
I've never seen an actor who is so unsuitable for a part, Affleck is completely unbelievable playing this role
