when I was still fairly new to Breath of the wild, I met a yiga foot soldier who sold me a banana for 99 rupees. Seeing as I hadn't seen a banana in the game before, I thought it was a really rare ingredient. Shortly after I bought the bananas, the yiga soldier attacked me.
I found that guy near the end of the game, when I had more rupees than I knew what to do with. Needless to say I have an absurd amount of Mighty Bananas now. I think I still have over a hundred.
I remember that guy! Later in my Playthrough, when I had over 10000 rupees to spare, I specifically remember finding him and purchasing every last banana just to see what would happen! LOL
One use of broken giant's knife: Dark Link isn't programmed to counter it, and you can hit him with basically every single swing. You can cheese your way through the whole fight by lazily tapping B.

There's one good use for the Magic Armor and it's a very specific scenario: Go in to the final boss battle in normal cloths but have no Rupees if you can help it. When you swordfight Ganondorf and are prepared to make the final blow, switch to the magic armor. It'll stay on Link throughout the endgame cutscenes. Enjoy!
The armor also really helpfull in the challenge "3 heart permadeath" since most ganon’s attack can 1 shot so better go in prepared to absorb some hit lmao

He's at the base of Rolling Ridge, but his response to burning the bush that reveals the staircase to his hideout depends on the age you enter it in. In the present, he makes you pay 50 rupees for the door repair, but in the past, he pays you 200 rupees to keep his hideout a secret. I forget about Seasons, though.
For real, for years I thought that there was a way to upgrade the armor to make it not absorb rupees. My theory was that if you finish the Jovani side quest, he would magically fix the armor, but of course that didn't happen (to this day I still haven't found all of the poes in TP lol).
You forgot to mention Beedle’s Shop Ship in Phantom Hourglass. Nothing worse than wasting hours spending thousands of rupees at his shop in order to get a VIP membership, which only rewards the player a higher discount on items and a simple “Thank you” from Beedle, the now richest merchant on the entire ocean.
I'm sure the Korok quest isn't meant to be completed! If there's so many Koroks, that's because everybody takes a different path and discover different Koroks! So no matter where you'll go, you'll upgrade your pockets!

The funniest thing about the giant's knife is that on my first playthrough of Ocarina, when I lost the master sword when I was about to fight Ganon, I thought I was meant to use the Broken Giant's Knife to off him. And I did. I didnt realize until the second playthrough what I could of actually done. At least now I have the bragging rights that I killed the Gerudo King with a broken sword
You still did better than me, I lost count of how many times bought that damn knife thinking the smith would perfect his craftsmanship, and there I was my pockets empty and I angry, at the end of ocarina of time I was without arrows and magic so I had to use my hookshot to damage Ganon until I could grab the master sword, I completely forgot about the broken knife

Yeah. TP had plenty of Rupees, but the magic armor is still pretty useless since the game is easy. If it had lynels in it, then the armor would be useful for practicing battle with them without dying, at least.
I actually used the Magic Armor for a sidequest cause I had to take a giant, easy to break barrel to a Goron in a small amount of time. I got fed up with those green things that pop out of the ground making me drop that barrel that I just slapped on my magic armor and ran through them like a tank.
Yeah, I also balked at that notion. Maxing out the wallet too quickly has been one of my biggest annoyances in Zelda games since ALttP. In that game I used to let a Pikit steal my red shield just so I could spend 500 rupees on a new one. The mechanic of being unable to take rupees from chests in TP made it even more annoying and in TPHD they removed it entirely but why couldn't they just give you the choice of putting it back or taking it anyway?
I'm pretty sure the reason the reward for finding all the seeds is a golden poop is because the developers sincerely didn't want you to do that. The fact is, they probably knew that if they make the collectible desirable at all, people will feel obligated to collect all the seeds in order to get it. I think they really didn't want people to play the game that way. For example, when I replay Majora's Mask. I always get the fierce diety mask because I feel like collecting every mask is part of the game. If they gave you the reward of significance people would feel obligated to collect every time they replay it, and I don't think the developers wanted you to do that.
@@imavideolover98 Even if you weren't given anything at all, you would still need 900 koroks to 100% the game. And the devs don't make the rules for what is considered "100%" the game. For example, I could say that 100% is all towers,shrines,koroks,memories,side quests,main quests, shrine quests, fairy fountains and all upgrades. But the speedrun rules don't ask for all upgrades, they only ask for max champion tunic, max zora set and max wild set.
Makes sense, that's why completing all shrines rewards you with the mastercycle zero and a whole new powerful armor set, shrines are the main collectables of the game and even tho there are 140 (I think) they're still manageable to get, but the koroks reward you with a complete inventory halfway through the whole sidequests, so that's already your big reward for all your hard work

Honestly I love the magic armor's aesthetic. Really feels like the stuff you'd want to wear in end-game vs the bosses and wish it wasn't so hamstrung in use. I did a personal speed run of the Savage Labyrinth (WW) and Cave of Ordeals (TP) run using the magic armor without ever losing it throughout all its levels. Was a lot of fun running through the labyrinths trying to get as much rupees or magic refill to keep the magic armor active and the run going. Yes you're practically invulnerable but you're also racing against time before your magic meter or your rupees run out lol.
Say it with me again, folks: if it uses the same engine but just has up-res’d textures and an HD coat of paint, it’s a remaster, not a remake. Remakes are entirely new games, often with new game engines.
Everyone who has played Breath of the Wild knows that when Hestu expands your inventory, he says the sound that plays throughout the series when you find items in chests. I think that, although this is a neat reference, it implies that all of the games that feature this sound are legends being retold to the other Koroks by Hestu, who is adding his own sound effects.
Skyward Sword HD does not fall under the Oxford definition of ‘scam’ (“A dishonest scheme; a fraud.”) Nowhere is Skyward Sword HD “dishonest” in order to get you to buy a copy of the game. Since hestu's gift is based on a good luck charm, the player should get better luck if they have the gift. Finding better stuff, or occasionally randomly getting bonus stamina or hearts. Things like that.

The Giant's Knife I used to think was required to get the Biggorn Sword since... I think the the Biggorn has special dialouge like "oh my brother made that" so I assumed it was needed, like the Biggoron takes it and repairs it to be more durable..

Zelda 1 also has the scam that the bow requires rupees to use. 1 arrow = 1 rupee. Rupees are also hard to find in that game, and several items - like the Magic Shield and Blue Ring, - cost a lot. The other big scam in Zelda 1 is that you can't get the red ring until you complete all of the dungeons. It is located deep within the last dungeon, and you pretty much exhaust your potion supplies and other weapons just to get it.
I have been wanting a SS remake since the Switch came out, seeing you call my most expected game a scam kinda made me sad, ngl I love SS and always have, I even attempted to recreate Skyloft in your minecraft server (which you even showed off in video), I'm just so excited to finally replay my favorite Zelda game

As somebody who played Skyward Sword on a low-quality TV- I'm VERY excited for the switch port. It looks MUCH better, it was pretty on the Wii, but I bet it'll be breath-taking on a screen that isn't 20+ years old. Skyward Sword is one of, if not #1, favourite Zelda games ever, and despite the price (pretty hefty for a port/HD remake, can't lie) I've been looking forward to it for MONTHS. I screamed when it was released bc Skyward Sword has always been one of those Zelda games I loved but couldn't play as much as I'd like bc of the motion controls- I have hand tremors and the Wii was HELL.
Yes the graphics in Skyward Sword HD look much clearer! The option of using button controls instead of motion is great, it makes parts of the game much easier to play (e.g. Carrying that tower of pumpkins, and the Minecart rollercoaster ride). However, some precision sword hitting is better with motion controls, you can switch between the two methods. Fi has been adjusted too, she doesn't pop us as much to interrupt gameplay. She is more useful now I found.
I don't know what accent Monster Maze has, but he's so pleasing to listen to. So is NBC, to be honest. These videos are perfect for calming my anxiety.
The first scam mentioned, reminds me of a scene from the fourth season of I-Zombie when villain Blaine tricks his delusional zombie dad that it's snowing pieces of brains, when really it's a couple of his goons above them feeding a bunch of brains into a wood chipper.
NBC we need to talk about that last so-called “scam”. First of all, SSHD is a remaster not a remake. It also has button controls (already quite a big addition) and runs at 60fps as well as includes amiibo support. The file size is 7.5GB up from the OG games 3.5GB (iirc) and I’m sorry but there is no way the extra 4GB of space can all be taken up by the improved graphics and other visual quality improvements the graphics got. We will probably be finding out more about the game closer to its release or even at e3 next month. We know literally next to nothing about this game so to call it a scam without even giving it a chance is an insult to the people who worked hard on this game and the people who will be buying it. I’m not mad at you over this NBC, but I am disappointed.
I didn't mind giving Charlo all those rupees, since it's so easy to get rupees in Twilight Princess and most times I opened a treasure chest it would close right back up as my wallet was full. In fact, the only times I wore the magic armor was before opening a chest.
Feels unfair to have included Skyward Sword HD before it's even been released. I thoroughly enjoyed it and felt there was definitely tweaks to improve overall QoL while playing, worth every penny if you ask me.
There of course had to be mostly baseless outrage before the release. Just look at that whole "anti-consumer" amiibo narrative. I haven't seen anyone complaining about it after the game released. There were also other, cheaper remasters that weren't as competently made as Skyward Sword HD.
Biggest scam in Zelda: You go to all the trouble of collecting THREE golden triangular relics containing the power of the gods and all you get is ONE lousy wish? Come on.
If we do get WW and TP HD on Switch (as has been Rumored) I hope they tweak the Magic Armor to not suck SO DAMN MUCH! WW's Magic armor is so Much better (specifically in the HD version) not draining your Magic and only taking your Rupees when hit, and there's a slip chance of you picking them back up ala Sonic and his Rings! Though I choose to believe Zeltik's theory that TP's Magic armor is an imperfect, Man-made armor set, made to mimic the seemingly Divine protection of WW's armor.
The TP magic armor is actually fantastic for the Cave of Ordeals. The Darknut gank squads in particular at the end hurt A LOT and there's point at endgame where rupees become kinda useless and the Jovanni quest reward is of course a thing so it effectively makes money count as extra health.

Actually the Tingle Tuner had uses if you had a GBA+cord. He could blow stuff up for you, and show you were hidden items were. Though I never got to do that.
Actually I believe I remember hearing that back when Zelda OOT had a real life timer and was gonna be on the 64DD you actually COULD beat the Running Man. Also Beedles reward for getting enough points on your membership card in WW should’ve been on here.
That first one doesn’t really sound like a scam since you get exactly what he’s pushing more or less. Link gets a piece of heart. No scam in that. As for the armor, Jovani’s cat, Gengel, will even repeatedly give you free rupees if you keep visiting him after finding all the Poes so you can rack up the cash and use the armor to deal with a more tricky boss. I never really thought of it until now, but the individual seeds look like little poo droppings. The Giant’s Knife is really just a means to an end that properly pays off really.
You mentioned Malo and a different scam of sorts comes to mind. If you fail on Talo's target shooting minigame in Kakariko, Malo will suggest buying the Hawkeye from his shop. If you do buy the Hawkeye and use it in the minigame, Malo - the VERY KID who suggested it in the first place, and to whom you paid money for the darned thing - will refuse to give you the prize.
Skyward Sword HD is a slap in the face imo. Nintendo should just give us Wind Waker and Twilight Princess on switch. Or at least get OOT and MM on Switch like c'mon.

When playing OoT as a kid, I used to constantly repurchase the Giant's Knife, even though I knew it would break. My friend finally threw her hands up and asked why I kept doing that when we had the Biggoron's Sword, and I told her I felt bad for the Gorons' home being in shambles, and I hoped it would boost their economy. She told me that's not how it worked, and I said I know, it was really just a way to ease my mind about it. And anyway, our wallet was always full because I obsessively cut the grass. I have zero regrets.
About Skyward Sword HD, the sword controls in handheld are handled by the right stick as mentioned in the trailer, but that just means that joycon drift is going to make it so that you randomly swing your sword in the middle of gameplay. Even bigger of a scam
The Broken Giant's Knife can be used to cheese the Dark Link fight. In the Dark Link fight, whenever Link swings his sword, Dark Link always jumps on it to avoid damage and to hit Link while he's vulnerable. If Link were to swing the Broken Giant's Knife, Dark Link still tries to jump on it, but can't because it's way too short, allowing Link the chance to strike while Dark Link is vulnerable.

Yeah, I also balked at that notion. Maxing out the wallet too quickly has been one of my biggest annoyances in Zelda games since ALttP. In that game I used to let a Pikit steal my red shield just so I could spend 500 rupees on a new one.
The mechanic of being unable to take rupees from chests in TP made it even more annoying and in TPHD they removed it entirely but why couldn't they just give you the choice of putting it back or taking it anyway?

I'm pretty sure the reason the reward for finding all the seeds is a golden poop is because the developers sincerely didn't want you to do that. The fact is, they probably knew that if they make the collectible desirable at all, people will feel obligated to collect all the seeds in order to get it. I think they really didn't want people to play the game that way.
For example, when I replay Majora's Mask. I always get the fierce diety mask because I feel like collecting every mask is part of the game. If they gave you the reward of significance people would feel obligated to collect every time they replay it, and I don't think the developers wanted you to do that.
Then why make it required to 100% the game?
@@imavideolover98 Even if you weren't given anything at all, you would still need 900 koroks to 100% the game. And the devs don't make the rules for what is considered "100%" the game. For example, I could say that 100% is all towers,shrines,koroks,memories,side quests,main quests, shrine quests, fairy fountains and all upgrades. But the speedrun rules don't ask for all upgrades, they only ask for max champion tunic, max zora set and max wild set.

Makes sense, that's why completing all shrines rewards you with the mastercycle zero and a whole new powerful armor set, shrines are the main collectables of the game and even tho there are 140 (I think) they're still manageable to get, but the koroks reward you with a complete inventory halfway through the whole sidequests, so that's already your big reward for all your hard work

The magic armor is actually really useful for draining rupees when your wallet is full and you don’t just want to leave a chest.
I found out what Hatsu's gift for collecting all the Korok seeds was and still let my sibling collect all of them just to watch them get mad...
I did the same thing with my cousin in Jak and Daxter with the power cell’s “ true ending.”

Honestly I love the magic armor's aesthetic. Really feels like the stuff you'd want to wear in end-game vs the bosses and wish it wasn't so hamstrung in use.
I did a personal speed run of the Savage Labyrinth (WW) and Cave of Ordeals (TP) run using the magic armor without ever losing it throughout all its levels. Was a lot of fun running through the labyrinths trying to get as much rupees or magic refill to keep the magic armor active and the run going. Yes you're practically invulnerable but you're also racing against time before your magic meter or your rupees run out lol.

Zelda 1 also has the scam that the bow requires rupees to use. 1 arrow = 1 rupee. Rupees are also hard to find in that game, and several items - like the Magic Shield and Blue Ring, - cost a lot. The other big scam in Zelda 1 is that you can't get the red ring until you complete all of the dungeons. It is located deep within the last dungeon, and you pretty much exhaust your potion supplies and other weapons just to get it.

As somebody who played Skyward Sword on a low-quality TV- I'm VERY excited for the switch port. It looks MUCH better, it was pretty on the Wii, but I bet it'll be breath-taking on a screen that isn't 20+ years old. Skyward Sword is one of, if not #1, favourite Zelda games ever, and despite the price (pretty hefty for a port/HD remake, can't lie) I've been looking forward to it for MONTHS. I screamed when it was released bc Skyward Sword has always been one of those Zelda games I loved but couldn't play as much as I'd like bc of the motion controls- I have hand tremors and the Wii was HELL.
Yes the graphics in Skyward Sword HD look much clearer! The option of using button controls instead of motion is great, it makes parts of the game much easier to play (e.g. Carrying that tower of pumpkins, and the Minecart rollercoaster ride). However, some precision sword hitting is better with motion controls, you can switch between the two methods. Fi has been adjusted too, she doesn't pop us as much to interrupt gameplay. She is more useful now I found.
I don't know what accent Monster Maze has, but he's so pleasing to listen to. So is NBC, to be honest. These videos are perfect for calming my anxiety.

The first scam mentioned, reminds me of a scene from the fourth season of I-Zombie when villain Blaine tricks his delusional zombie dad that it's snowing pieces of brains, when really it's a couple of his goons above them feeding a bunch of brains into a wood chipper.
NBC we need to talk about that last so-called “scam”. First of all, SSHD is a remaster not a remake. It also has button controls (already quite a big addition) and runs at 60fps as well as includes amiibo support. The file size is 7.5GB up from the OG games 3.5GB (iirc) and I’m sorry but there is no way the extra 4GB of space can all be taken up by the improved graphics and other visual quality improvements the graphics got. We will probably be finding out more about the game closer to its release or even at e3 next month. We know literally next to nothing about this game so to call it a scam without even giving it a chance is an insult to the people who worked hard on this game and the people who will be buying it. I’m not mad at you over this NBC, but I am disappointed.

Feels unfair to have included Skyward Sword HD before it's even been released. I thoroughly enjoyed it and felt there was definitely tweaks to improve overall QoL while playing, worth every penny if you ask me.
There of course had to be mostly baseless outrage before the release. Just look at that whole "anti-consumer" amiibo narrative. I haven't seen anyone complaining about it after the game released.
There were also other, cheaper remasters that weren't as competently made as Skyward Sword HD.

If we do get WW and TP HD on Switch (as has been Rumored) I hope they tweak the Magic Armor to not suck SO DAMN MUCH! WW's Magic armor is so Much better (specifically in the HD version) not draining your Magic and only taking your Rupees when hit, and there's a slip chance of you picking them back up ala Sonic and his Rings! Though I choose to believe Zeltik's theory that TP's Magic armor is an imperfect, Man-made armor set, made to mimic the seemingly Divine protection of WW's armor.
In breath of the wild at Zoras domain this guy gives you a diamond witch sells for 500 rupees for 10 luminous stones which sells for 700 rupees

The TP magic armor is actually fantastic for the Cave of Ordeals. The Darknut gank squads in particular at the end hurt A LOT and there's point at endgame where rupees become kinda useless and the Jovanni quest reward is of course a thing so it effectively makes money count as extra health.

Actually the Tingle Tuner had uses if you had a GBA+cord. He could blow stuff up for you, and show you were hidden items were. Though I never got to do that.

That first one doesn’t really sound like a scam since you get exactly what he’s pushing more or less. Link gets a piece of heart. No scam in that.
As for the armor, Jovani’s cat, Gengel, will even repeatedly give you free rupees if you keep visiting him after finding all the Poes so you can rack up the cash and use the armor to deal with a more tricky boss.

You mentioned Malo and a different scam of sorts comes to mind. If you fail on Talo's target shooting minigame in Kakariko, Malo will suggest buying the Hawkeye from his shop. If you do buy the Hawkeye and use it in the minigame, Malo - the VERY KID who suggested it in the first place, and to whom you paid money for the darned thing - will refuse to give you the prize.

When playing OoT as a kid, I used to constantly repurchase the Giant's Knife, even though I knew it would break. My friend finally threw her hands up and asked why I kept doing that when we had the Biggoron's Sword, and I told her I felt bad for the Gorons' home being in shambles, and I hoped it would boost their economy. She told me that's not how it worked, and I said I know, it was really just a way to ease my mind about it. And anyway, our wallet was always full because I obsessively cut the grass.
I have zero regrets.
About Skyward Sword HD, the sword controls in handheld are handled by the right stick as mentioned in the trailer, but that just means that joycon drift is going to make it so that you randomly swing your sword in the middle of gameplay. Even bigger of a scam

The Broken Giant's Knife can be used to cheese the Dark Link fight.
In the Dark Link fight, whenever Link swings his sword, Dark Link always jumps on it to avoid damage and to hit Link while he's vulnerable. If Link were to swing the Broken Giant's Knife, Dark Link still tries to jump on it, but can't because it's way too short, allowing Link the chance to strike while Dark Link is vulnerable.
