Thank you! Perfect ... Lost ALL my workshop-items accidentially ... tried to remove just the ones for ark and ... whoops ... deleted everything. Now is can play C:S again :)
Another great fix Biffa, however, you did kinda mess up the Industry area a bit yourself.. You pointed out that the one way system didn't have enough lanes to allow for the traffic to merge, and when you went to upgrade to a larger road, you instead picked a 4-lane Two-way road. I think your original idea of just putting in a 3 or 4 lane larger one-way road would have worked without the need for all the extra fiddling and roundabout.
so if the traffic is super crazy you could just do a 4 way stop and the intersection at 19:00 into the video. It would help break up the traffic just enough with out changing everything to drastically.
People, PLEASE... Metro tunnels are not meant to go 90 degree turns. I feel physical pain when I see this. Imagine being on that vehicle. Everyone falls over who is not holding on to something during those turns. & even roller coasters don't normally have turns that sharp. D: If the person just split the tunnel a bit before the stop so metro trains wouldn't overlap & have to loop like that, it would be better & safer traffic-wise.
I did not understand the necessity for the loops. That's just silly. Put the station on the other side of the road. And no, NO SHARP TURNS on the metro!
I absolutely hate this and same with rail lines... trains can’t even cope with much of a slope either. Realistic-looking train and metro lines look GOOD and run better than nonsense with crazy 90 degree turns.
It's... silly? Its like the person never seen a metro or train in his life? Heck I haven't because we don't have them in this country but its a pretty basic idea of "long thing do bad with 90 degree turn"
Yeah really! I have a pirated copy of this game, and since I can't download the proper mods on Steam I'll have to buy the game on Steam to use the mods. I am not the least bit upset about this. This is actually quite exciting to see real world traffic solutions working wonders in this Simcity replacement game. Once I get a broadband Internet connection back home and about $155 to put on my Steam account I'll be buying this game as soon as I can. I've abandoned far too many of my cities in this game because the traffic becomes unbearable once I surpass the 20K mark due to how I usually layout my cities. From the looks of it with these mods I can have a literal million population on my entire map and have at least an 80% traffic movement. Thanks, Biffa!!
If you put the metro stop at 23:00 on the other side of the station (to go Counterclockwise), then there won't be ANY crossing over each other right there.
@ 8:30 You could use a one lane highway ramp instead of a small one way for the bridge. Another suggestion: I Found a nice trick a few days ago … What sometimes helps in industrial areas is switching over to small 4 lane roads (Network extensions). And now the trick: Use the traffic manager arrows on all crossings to forbid cars turning left, right AND going on straight on the outer lanes … in other words switch off all three arrows on the outer lanes, allow turning only on the middle ones. So cars use the middle 2 lanes for passing along the road, the outer 2 lanes are only used by trucks that need to stop at a building - that way they don't slow down following traffic. Give it a try. It doesn't help in all situations of course - but sometimes this does kind of magic.
Nice work posting this while i'm leaving for work :(... The roads i'm going down need your help!.... Roundabouts with traffic lights, junctions inside junctions... Come to my home town and fix it please!.... the cars driving through each other is accurate though. Keep doing what your doing!!!!
I'm allmost certain this city isn't fixed. It's just not futureproof. The traffic problem is gone for now cuz the city is still small, but once it starts growing and more traffic is gonna be on the road, these problems are gonna come back. The player who sent this in has gotta redo that industry zone. Relocate the cargo station, create multiple entry points into that zone, ... it's just asking to go wrong again in the future. That metro system also needs more work. If they continue building that metro like they had been before it's destined to become gridlocked again.
I still find it amazing how, Lane Mathematics, Lane Arrows, a few different connections and of course A ROUNDABOUT or Two makes such a difference. also as i said before those little EDIT's from Before and After work so well, GG Biffa Loved it. xxx
6:10 I personally would use a 3 lane 1 way in that exit area so the center lane can go straight through. and 14:30 you went from 2 lanes to 2 lanes, just added 2 way instead of 1 way. 8:40 I would just use the highway offramp, one lane, can be raised. Keep up the great work.
First problem: too many necessary left-hand turns across traffic! This person clearly doesn't live in my area, where you grow up learning how to plan all local trips with only right-hand turns. ;)
@@entropyzero5588 First, I adore your avatar. I'm not at all surprised that UPSes plan right turns into their routes. Makes sense! I love your videos! I was screaming at you throughout the whole thing because the first roundabout you looked at, everyone coming onto it had to turn off into the tunnel because the couldn't choose a different lane when they got of the roundabout. Making the industry traffic worse.
Biffa what about demonstrating the advantage of ring roads over city-splitting roads? The way they split traffic instead of piling it up all in the central road. Also applies to neighborhood/industrial area with multiple entrances
I wait every other day for new videos, installed the game and follow your advice, and still: Traffic jams! Will start from zero and lets see what happens this time. :) Besides that... I enjoy your videos ;)
Okay! I learned myself that if you have a roundabout with the 3-lane highway with A LOT of traffic and where cars from one of the 4 roads never get to go because of the give way rule and cars are always coming, you can fix this by reducing the speed to 40 instead of 100 for example!
Instead of moving the metro stops, you can move the other side of the loop too. It costs a little more but saves you having to move any bus stops which may have been set up to be right beside the metro, which is generally a good idea.
One major thing to remember about metro stations is to ALWAYS put them side-by side, so all passengers need to do to get from one to the other is simply go up the stairs, then back down the stairs. NEVER put metro stations on opposite sides of the road. All that does is clog the road with pedestrians crossing the street, which only defeats the purpose of taking traffic off the streets in the first place. The same thing applies to putting metro stations next to airports, space elevators, ferry stations, train stations, tourist attractions, amusement parks, universities, hospitals, and so on. If this is something where people want to go, ALWAYS put the metro station directly next to it, instead of putting the metro station on the opposite side of the road.

19:02 if peeps don't like roundabouts demolishing buildings, why not have this one set up to the right with the uppy-downy roads curving out to meet it??
At around the 13:50 minute mark, you put in a 4 lane road - two in one direction and two in the opposite. Should this have been a 4 lane one way road as the entrance to the industry area is one way too?
This much traffic in a 16k city is scary. You can fit that in one tile with one highway exit no problem with no public transit and no traffic problems...
Great video Biffa! In my city with a population of about 65,000, I am having a HUGE problem with death waves! @@adamgray1753 not to mention all the construction, messing with the program as well....and people on their phones while driving. I'd rather stay home.
I DO want to talk abut that monstrosity with the crossing paths, actually. Because I've been wondering: with a big roundabout like that, could you lower the footpaths down to ground level inside the roundabout and put something down in the middle of it - something that doesn't require road access, but would still be appreciated by pedestrians, like a kiosk or something? Does something like that even exist?
As far as searching in the Workshop goes, the boolean search options are extremely limited, and typically too many inappropriate hits are presented. Doing a search using a "modern" internet search engine is only moderately better given the over-riding of booleans and even second-guessing of literal strings in search strings.
I want to see you take on fixing the traffic in real cities like New York or Los Angeles where you not only have horrible street layout but also over a million people all in one tiny area at the same time.

Only Tram & bus need to have loop for terminus turn, other such as metro, railway, Monorail only just directly connect to the terminus station.
Be aware that the pesky STOP sign is turned on for all side roads when one PRIORITISES a road. TYVM sippa tea!
What was the mod mentioned allowing one to change the direction of unloading and loading?
Ever couple of months in game time, about 10,000 of my citizens die all at once which causes tons of problems. I've read that I have this problem because in the past I zoned a ton of high density residential all at once, but I don't know how to break out of this death wave cycle. Do you know a solution to this problem, or do you think this city might be a good city fix? Keep up the super entertaining videos!
i just finished building 600k+ city on this exact map :P
Which map is it?
I live in Australia. “Is it hot?” is one of the dumbest questions you could ask.
Then I guess I know your answer ;-)
I love watching your videos. Traffic use to kill my cities but now when I have a problem I ask myself, what would Biffa do?
All was fine until just suddenly it all went to hell. Traffic is just a mess, have no clue what to do.. !! take a look

Those drivers remind me of the ones we have here in Texas.
Yeah... Reminds me of the DFW area particularly on 635N and S.
@@adamgray1753 Got that right. Or 35E through downtown
When I am in the DFW, @@aaron7659, it's usually just the "outer limits" of the DFW area on 635N to Fry's Electronics. The last time I drove to DFW Airport I decided, "NOPE!" I do *not* want to drive in that ceaseless hell.
Sure, it's nice to get out of the house for a long while, but not when you're facing frequently conflicting signage and to make it so much worse is you're new to the area without GPS. This was maybe a decade or so ago, but still... I'll just say "No!" to driving to the airport. lol
@@adamgray1753 not to mention all the construction, messing with the program as well....and people on their phones while driving. I'd rather stay home.
I fully understand that, @@aaron7659. Cities Skylines needs to have a city policy banning cellphone use while driving for added realism. lol
This is a really beautifully made city.
The last metro station you fix should: you should have just made it an end station and so removed the extra track going nowhere and the "loop" part.
So: at a Cargo terminal, trucks are not allowed to cross each other 06:57, but at a Metrostation, Metro's may well do so 22:56 ???
Love the monstrosity crossing paths.
Love your channel. Been sitting at work (alone in tech support and boring days because everyone else's on vacation)... I bought City Skylines when it came out and then forgot about it. I now want to finally play it and well... I have already decided to get Green Cities, but is there another expansion you recommend?
Mass transit for sure 👍
@@BiffaPlaysCitiesSkylines Thanks, I kind of thought so.
LOL, Japanese garden in the middle of an industrial sector. Nice to think of the workers, but I think all the plants are dead
What's the name of the mod which is showing the number in the top left?
Watch it!
The city's name is of an actual city in Indonesia! It's pronounced Bun-doong, not the English way of how it's spelt.
Yes, i am indonesian. Bandung the viking city😎
Maybe kang Oded who send this city haha
This is the last week it will be this hot in this part of the world :( nearly 30 degrees celsius. Next week will be damn cold and rainy, and it's the last week of my summer holiday.
Gotta take all out of the last few warm days and hit the beach with the lady, my hammock, a few beers and good music or youtube :)
Enjoy :-)
