In September of 1989 the Flyers traded Keith Acton and Pete Peeters to the Winnipeg Jets for players to be named later. A week later, Acton and Peeters were those players to be named later. The NHL recognized this as shenanigans and fined both teams $10,000. The trade to Winnipeg was done to avoid the players being exposed to the waiver draft.
