One of the main features of Argentine Tango is that no defined set of “steps” and is a lead/follow relationship between the dancers which really depends on the Lead to truely lead. Addionally in Argentine tango there is quite a bit of “ foot play” wtth drags, pulls, ganchos and sacadas
I think they look different because American Tango uses another kind of music, not tango, so the metric is different, it looks more like a European walts that a Tango dance
Neither! The Latin dances typically have Cuban motion and ballroom is much more structured. Argentine tango falls more into street or “club” style partner dancing.
Argentine tango is its own thing. Ballroom dance classes only teach American style tango and Latin dance classes do not teach any tango at all. (Latin is usually salsa, merengue, bachata, and cumbia.)
@@angryshadeofpink I've checked, The Argentine Tango is in the same category as the Salsa, a Latino Dance. (Why the Salsa doesn't count as a Latin is beyond me).
@@christianfrost8660 I was referring to where you would actually find them if you were looking to take classes. I've disappointingly never found Argentine tango on the roster for any Latin dance class.
Where has Argentine Tango been in all my 58 years? Thank you guys! 💃🏿🕺🏻👍🏼

I'd like to learn the Tango, especially the Argentine.
We have the American style Tango already released on our channel and we will be filming the Argentine style sometime in the future for sure!
I’d like to learn more about Argentine Tango, thank you so much!
It's on our list - we'll get to it someday! :)

That's true, there are many different styles of tango music :)
Yes in AT there different types but what comes to mind is Milonga, Vals and standard tango rhythm. Neuveo is another popular style I love.
is "Scent of a woman" an American Tango or Argentine tango?
It's a mix of the two styles! The dance position is more of an argentine close position but a lot of the moves are more from the American tango style!
The song they dance is called "Por una cabeza" the composer of that song is Carlos Gardel,
@@mayrabuxareo3912I’d heard the song was about racehorses
Argentine tango
Should libertango be danced as ballroom tango or Argentinian tango?
The beat goes well with the American style or International style Tango! It's not a "traditional" argentine tango song.
Argentine all the way! However, keep in mind, libertango or anything piazolla is played at milongas.
Are they both considered Ballroom or does the Argentine Tango get classed as a Latin?
