I know it isn't really a competition dance style but is the Argentine Tango considered to be in the Latin category like the Salsa?

The categories are created more for a competition purpose to keep it organized. The argentine tango style is not technically considered "Latin" in terms of competition so it would be considered in the "club" style dances with salsa, bachata, merengue, hustle and many other more social styles that people can also compete in!
