      @Magno Avatar In the bible it says God made a man out of the dust from the Earth, just like every other living being, so it would make sense we have physical similarities to other animals. Also we have 70% genetic similarity to horse fly, are we 70% horse fly then? no we are not. What makes us different is our morality that connects our being to God. Chimps will kill their own kind with no remorse. Humans have a moral compass preventing them dominating, or else we would have eradicated apes and other endangered species instead of trying to conserve them. Chimps or gorillas or orangutans wouldn't care if other species died, we do. It's because God made us gardeners of his planet, and as gardeners, we feel a moral compass to protect his creation.

    • @daemonzap1481
      @daemonzap1481 3 роки тому +1

      @Magno Avatar If you are an atheist you cannot mention to me any moral arguments since atheists do not have morality in their worldview. In an atheistic worldview, nothing in existence has any value beyond material, if you mention morality you are borrowing from religion since in an atheistic world there is no right and wrong. Also, yes we have killed many of our fellow men, that's the curse of the fall when Adam disobeyed god. But the difference is that we fundamentally know killing and war is wrong whereas chimps or gorrilas have no problem or remorse or knowledge of it being wrong. They don't feel guilt when they go and kill a human, yet all of humanity was angered when Harambe died. That's the difference, had a gorrila killed a human (which they have) they would move on and forget in less than a day. Also you mentioned the Bible has inconsistencies but failed to mention any, that's like me stating Atheism is wrong with no evidence.
      Oh, and here's my evidence for atheism being wrong: According to the laws of physics, energy cannot be created or destroyed in this physical realm. So tell me how the universe, with its insane amount of energy, came to exist? It couldn't of popped out of nowhere, that wouldn't make sense, would it?

    Really great idea for a video. It's such a joy to watch videos of Maisie getting all that love and attention, but it's important for viewers to remember that this really isn't an ideal situation for her. Even w/ the amazing care the zoo affords her, she will inevitably have to overcome some challenges she'd never face had she been naturally raised.

    • @Cara-39
      @Cara-39 3 роки тому +5

      Apes are amazingly resilient and adaptable. Maisie was not taken from her life in the wild, she was born and will live in captivity, so she won't have to overcome something she's never known. The main issue for any intelligent animal, apes specifically, is to keep their mind occupied and enriched so she has the best possible life, which I'm sure she will. She's not a pet, an entertainer or medical test subject so she won't have that trauma to heal from, she'll just have a different life than chimps in the wild. Judging by the love and care she's getting from knowledgeable staff, that different life will probably be a good one.

    There is certainly an appeal to baby primates and monkeys. They are adorable, they act like human children and are goofy. People like smaller monkey's because they think that, smaller = cuter and easier to handle. Unlike Chimps that grow rather massive.
    But monkey's aren't made for the life of a pet. Yes, technically you could see a Sanctuary where you interact with Orangutans for example as a 'pet', because the caretakers need to look after the animals that can't be put into the wild. But they are not pets. Even a smaller monkey can tear flesh with their bite and in their adolesence, they turn violent because they are trying to assert their dominance and the Pecking order. And will continue to do so.
    Also, being cooped up isn't healthy. And most baby monkey's are taken from the cold dead grip of their mothers or their mothers are in cages, constantly being bred to make baby monkey's. It's why you see Baby Monkey's holding their heads, curled up, or screaming all the time. Because for the first 2 years, a Monkey or Primate is meant to stay with it's mother, and psychologically it destroys the animal.

      @Magno Avatar isn't it 98 percent or so for chimpanzees and humans? I rather enjoy being a primate--we have opposable thumbs for starters ;)

    • @chrisgullett4332
      @chrisgullett4332 3 роки тому +1

      @Magno Avatar No they share DNA strands, not actual DNA. Humans are one of the 5 great apes, chimpanzees, bonobos, orangutans and gorillas are the other 4 great apes. But in reality we share more actual DNA with rats than chimpanzees. When you hear things like 'they share 98% of DNA', it does not mean two species are 98% alike, it means that 98% of the DNA stands are alike. Shared genes is different than working DNA, cause the genes are not just the working DNA strands, it is the actual genes that make up the DNA, and we share 99% with rats and 96% with chimpanzees. We also share 80% with potatoes and 50% with bananas, so a high figure is not always what it seems.

      @Magno Avatar Everything that moves freely and eats is an animal. Stop trying to sound intelligent. Body has zero to do with being an animal. Literally every specie that is able to move on its own, eat food and has a nervous system is classified as an animal. That includes insects and fish.

    If you think the US is bad for the Chimp trade. You should visit the middle or Far East.
    What I've seen there (with chimps) was sad. Monkeys too, but (if they were indigenous and 'common place') I just accepted that as a cultural thing (as it once was elsewhere).
    But, the Chimp trade was very sad. There was no understanding/empathy for the animal (with the 'owners' I saw). And, I only saw them up to a certain age ..never really saw many 'older' chimps. I can guess what happens to them, after they get older/unruly

    Baby chimps are sooooo adorable, but when they are adults they can be dangerous. I read an article a few years back where this lady had a full grown chimp, she had him since he was a baby. One day her friend came over, for some reason her chimp felt threatened or was jealous. Or he thought she was in danger. He attacked his owners friend and almost ripped her face off. The police came, the chimp went back to his room and got into his bed, the police put him down.. poor thing. He should of NOT been there, he should have been in the wild..not being treated like a human....

    No animals make good pets. Those who love animals truly create sanctuaries for them wherein they can live naturally but also enjoy the benefit of some temporary help when nature gets rough.

    Grown up they're like 3-6 year olds with above human agility and upper body strength as well as powerful jaws.
    Good luck trying to make them take a timeout if they throw a tantrum. Other than that they're nice folks in small controlled doses. And a wall between you.

    Learnt this stuff in grade 1. Why don’t you just do what they do in Borneo and pair her up with a chimp with her similar characteristics. Way better then her connecting with a human 24/7. She’d learn it all naturally, straight from the source? Give her a friend. And talk more about why she ended up there and how many years will it be until she goes back into the wild! By wild, do you mean WILD-WILD or wild at the zoo! Zoo wild? 🤓🤣And talk more about the life they live IN the wild! 🤷🏽‍♀️

    It must've been hard for Pan Kun. After he was used to entertain the media, with a bulldog named James, he was sent to a sanctuary because of his age. He lived, and trained with his human, then when he outlived his usefulness to him, the trainer got rid of him. Imagine training a chimp to be able to live the way other chimps really live in the wild, when the chimp had lived among humans. I even thought Bubbles, Michael Jackson's, was gone by now, but he is still alive at a private sanctuary.

    Are females and castrated males as aggressive as intact males?

    • @michelemarie2568
      @michelemarie2568 2 роки тому

      No, females and males without the hormone testosterone are not as aggressive. Same with humans, although humans are much more aggressive than chimps . . . humans steal, kill, rape, torture, enslave & destroy the environment for all life forms.

      @Big Guy wow I didn’t know that. But I read in a book from From de Wall that he did observations of bonobos in the wild, and that women bonobos were using sex to gain food advantages and then didn’t need it anymore after some years, to dominate.
      And here there is a footage, I don’t know if they are disturbed or whatever but they do often sex lol ua-cam.com/video/m6ryxAEVLUQ/v-deo.html
