The mother is there at that prison they call the zoo and, as always, they stole the baby from its mother under the usual "the mother wasn't bonding" with the baby lie. These people will stop at nothing to take babies from their mothers just so they can have two or three years of video material. It's disgusting and DISGRACEFUL!!
Is taking baby primates from their mother the new norm? This is cruel. This is the 5th baby I see the zoo decides the mother is not bonding after just a few hours. But hey, now the mother can breed again. This is wrong.
Yeah they totally shouldn't breed the chimps if they don't know how to take care of a baby chimp, okay perhaps the mother died but to raise a chimp like this with humans is cruel, specially as the baby is usually constantly with their mother.
This will probably just lead to that this chimp will reject their baby when they grow up. Sure things can happen but I don't like how positively they talk about this situation when it's a huge tragedy that the baby has to live all alone like this.
Her mother passed out after the birth and needed medical intervention. She was unable to nurse Stevie or care for her. The zoo staff took over until mom was ready for her baby back.
Why is it at the zoo’s that the babies are taking the babies away from the mum. They are not the mum. It is horrifying to think he or she was torn from mum. That causes a traumatic experience for them but then again I think zoos should be shut down these beautiful animals need to be free and live the life they were ment to have
@@johnblaesel5493that is their life they have freedom to live how they are supposed to live. So what you are saying is that it is ok take those babies away from their mother really. You can’t imagine what mother and child go thru when that happens.
@@ozzy6944 Well, if I were a wildebeest or a zebra with a human brain and knowing that my family and me is about to get chewed up and murdered, I’d be begging a zoo to take my children. You don’t have much freedom when you’re surrounded by murderous predators.
Can you explain why she's not with her mother? It's cruel and inhumane to separate an infant monkey from it's mother and it causes their Cortisol levels from stress to go too high and they don't come back to normal upon returning to the mother. They suffer ptsd, sleeplessness, hormone imbalances and an inability to reproduce consequently. Cesarean section does not constitute a reason to separate a mother and "her" baby for more than a few hours. There is no reason to teach it to bottle feed through a cage. Is this your reason for not returning her for what? 10 weeks? That's unacceptable!!!
First of all, chimps are apes, not monkey’s. Second of all, did u watch the video? The lady made a point that they’re not holding her like they would a human infant but are letting her hang from them as is the nature of an adult chimp. Third of all, they plan on handing her over to the adult chimps as was said in the video.
Do you seriously think they're spending all this money and manpower and resources to carry out the 24/7 job of hand-rearing an infant chimpanzee just for the hell of it? Like, you really think they took the baby from a perfectly capable mother just to make a ton of work for their staff because it's cute? They only hand-rear infants like this when there's no other option, such as when a mother rejects the infant and it would otherwise die, or the mother is too sick, or the baby is too sick, or the mother is dead or gone. They're gonna return the infant as soon as it's old enough to survive with the troop. That's the point of learning to bottle feed through the cage (obviously for whatever reason nursing with mom is not possible). Please tell me you're like, an 8 year old kid or something? I'll totally forgive you and apologize for my tone if you are.
Por mi desconocimiento pregunto; Porqué los separan de sus madres y se los enseñan sin poder tocar a sus bebés? No lo entiendo, si alguien me lo explica.
I am not even going to get into some of these comments…jeez. but I would have liked this video to answer some basic questions like 1. why wasn’t she raised by her mother. There must have been some facts for this decision, medical and behavioural facts. 2. what efforts were made to enable her mother to raise her? As it stands, it tells us nothing more than ‘ooh cute’.
You are not working on anything. Those animals act instinctively and will take actions when their strength and age allow. Always trying to take credit.
They are wearing GLOVES to interact with the baby Chimpanzee. Ridiculous. Also a completely artificial surrounding. But the worst is taking the baby from its mother instead of doing everything possible to keep them together!
All you keyboard warriors are claiming they took that baby away from her mother. Do you know this for sure? Would you bet your entire 401K that’s exactly what happened? Are you privy to the circumstances surrounding this baby chimp? If not, quit jumping to conclusions! Perhaps the mother died or perhaps the mother rejected her or perhaps the mother is sick. I find it extremely difficult to believe that they just snatched this baby chimp away from her mother!
@EnglEasy123I know. People think they’re experts on animals and know more than the people taking care of them who have much more education and experience in working with animals than all the keyboard warriors condemning them with their usual virtue signaling diatribe.
She is absolutely amazing! What a beautiful little creature.
What happened to the mother?
Zoos are so cool! Thank you for putting in all the effort

Fun? They , the keepers are no better than some lab workers experimenting on chimps. This is horrid
And THAT's your job? Just how much do you have to pay the zoo to let you do this job? 😊

I would gladly do it for free as well. Well, maybe on weekends so I could still eat....lol
