Watching Mary brings so much joy to me also. I commend you for the care you are giving to your husband. I know personally, that caregiving is hard work and sometimes you go without notice. You are a blessing to your husband. Stay strong and let things like Mary's videos give you moments of inspiration, joy and relaxation. God bless you.

I spent the day in the hospital with my husband who was having surgery on his spine. Needless to say I was nervous... I mean, I trust God implicitly... but He doesn't mess with man's free will and it's man's judgement on whether or not to do something foolish, like mess up during a surgery, ya know? Any way, your soothing voice and beautiful pond and pavilion make over was a perfect way to pass time. Thank you for that bit of respite you provided without knowing you were answering a prayer for peace.

AND I have to say...i was thrilled to see you kneeling on something to protect your knees...i am 70 now and facing the replacement of my second knee...they are so precious ( I realize now)... I drew breath as I saw your tethering on the ladder (as your guardian angel must have heals it steady for you!) Please don't injure yourself!...(its such a long road to recovery)...LOVE the lovely pavilion and hope your family gets a lot of joy out of using it. Can't wait to see you videos each week! This is the first time I have made a comment on any video but just had to tell you that I found your 'weed eating apron' an absolute revelation. What a wonderful place for sleepovers!! How wonderful your sons can learn the art of construction from their father. What a great gift!! I so wanted to learn to use tools and lawnmowers etc from my father but he said, "Girls don't use power tools." and would not teach me. I have always regretted that. I did teach myself to refinish vintage furniture though and to paint, garden, landscape and cook. From that point on I did all the painting and staining!! I LOVE to work on furniture and to paint. So satisfying!! This a such lovely place for a quiet spot for contemplation or yoga!! I LOVE that your cat followed you there while you worked! Yes, a fresh black stain with poly mixed right in it!! I used that on my pool house and it lasted for 6-8 years. Hammock...what a great idea! I would take my family portraits right here on the pavillion!

I just love the pavilion! It is great that your whole family got involved in fixing it up. What sweet memories you will have added to those you already have from when your father built the original. As always, you work the hardest and produce the most amazing projects. God bless you for sharing your life with us.

This is my favorite of all your makeovers because it is simple, well designed and not overdone - It is utilitarian and more about comfort than being cute - I am so glad you didn't feel the need to stencil something - This is not a room it's a casual outdoor space so forget the coffee table and the rug and don't overdo - Not every space has to be full of furniture and geegaws - I love it and could grab a glass of wine and sit there and read for hours.

Mary everything you do is amazing. Such a wonderful transformation. It's so tranquil looking. I have those same Adirondack plastic chairs and table in my back patio. I bought the chairs from target and the table years ago from big lots.

Such a beautiful makeover! I think every DIY-er is guilty of precarious ladder balancing but I tip my hat to you for ladder in a pond! :-) And I love how even with all of your beautiful grounds to explore, your cats choose to keep a close eye on you :-) Thankyou for the sunshine and inspiration on what is a very grey and windy day here in the south east of England :-)

Love it! Why don't you just paint or stenccil a "rug" rather than buy one that could blow away or get wet.

If it's outdoor it should be fine under the roof during Summer months. We used to have one at a campsite where we had our motorhome and it was outside all the time, it was some type of vinyl weave

There are many choices for outdoor rugs. The material is called polypropylene which is a fancy word for plastic. I know they can be expensive if you need something large and the harsh sun is a major detriment. I have purchased many and I hate to say they don't last longer than 2-3 years when combined with rainwater and sun. So, I love the stencil idea, would take more time than money and you could personalize it. You are so creative and I believe that you wouldn't mind the effort. Thanks again.

Since I first started watching your videos I can’t believe how strong you are. You inspire me to keep working on our retirement purchase home that had no yard and a bit of ecclectic artist built home. 3 buildings. 2nd owner did no maintenance. So its not really remodeling a lot but new roof, floors, paint in and out. High desert so hard sandy soil. But its the look. We can do similar using natives and since we do go cold in winter for a bit of time ive found plants that like cold like English Lavender grow well here. I’m loosing weight and getting stronger. I’m 65. I like this building back to a pavilion. Our lot is almost an acre but with hot summer heat getting up to a lot of days in 100s we are continually making “another” place to sit as the sun rises and moves making shadow areas from the trees. We also planted more trees! I want to make more vignettes like you do and not just drag around a few gravity lounges. Looked up how to make some vintage wood furniture too. You are my inspiration!

This looks wonderful! I think your home and you are so inspirational. I would live near you if it weren't for all the snow in the winter. How do you keep your cats safe with all the woods in back? I would be afraid they would get eaten by some animal. Do they stay inside at night or do you do something else to keep them safe? We might move to northern Georgia and it is wooded there so I was wondering how to handle my cat. Tab

With your talent you could paint a rug on the floor, protect the painted surface with two or three coats of exterior floor varithane and not worry about dirt or moisture. Also, I just love your cats. They obviously think you are the cat's meow because they always come for a pat and a cuddle.

Mary, you are such a hard working woman. I find it so inspirational. I know people who hire gardeners just to mow a 100 square meter garden! Thanks to you, today I got up at 6:30m (I'm a morning person also) and started clipping and cleaning my garden overgrowns. Keep posting your delightful videos. I love them😊🇵🇹
