Some geckos do drink from water bowls. They'll drink the water drops on the walls and such but I have seen several drink from shallow bowls. Essentially small puddles, which you find in nature
I miss nightly but I've honestly found both my gargoyle gecko and crestie drink from their bowl sometimes. My crestie loves his especially. I think it's best to do both
I loved this video! You had some grate advice! I’ve owned geckos nearly 5 years and I’ve been breeding them for nearly 2 but most geckos will drink from standing water! But not many! I have over 9 cresties! And I agree with you they are a awesome starter reptile! For sure!!
this sunday or saturday i am going to a expo with my mom and dad ! so i was hoping to find some information on crested geckos because their one of the things im most interested in! ( though i am young i still know alot of information on alot of animals. i have a chameleon and he is one of my most important priorities! )
First, I love how informative your videos; very helpful to people starting in the hobby. I agree with all your points. My son has a crested and leopard gecko and you definitely see differences especially with their skin, feeding, temperament. Both are great and docile except our crested does love to jump. The distance they jump is unreal so def. keep an eye on them. Finally, will you be going to reptile show in tinely park ? (I may have read they will have it). If so I hope you get a chance to go
Great video kiddo I think I will still wait till I can give them more time still have 3yrs years before I am officially retired I will have a lot more time to properly manage all the reptiles I want but Great video kiddo thanks ❤
Pro's and con's videos are always so fun! This list was really good. I love how derpy cresties look🦎. I haven't really commented lately as I'm in a bad headspace mentally but I'm always watching even when I don't comment (though you may not notice lol). Also that pink/purple/fuschia shirt is absolutely stunning on you!
I heard about their tails falling off so many times I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened if I had one but maybe just in case when I’m ready to get one I’ll just get one without the tail just avoid the stress
@@reptiliangarden I can see why I mean I heard about it so many times but that’s why I’m also thinking just avoid the stress when I’m ready to get one I’ll just get one with a frog but they look more interesting without it anyway
As long as you have a comfortable room temp, you do not need heat. They are prone to overheating easily! As for uvb it is not required, but it can be beneficial if you can offer it! 💕
I personally like larger reptiles as I also have cats and birds so I would be worried keeping smaller lizards/snakes. My bearded dragon is a good size and my cats leave her alone. So I think size could be a pro or con depending on your living situation/household!
Amazing video! Cresties are awesome and have little cons! Just one con i can think of is when you handle them for a certain amount of time they do poop/pee on you😅😅😅
I toss up whether I want geckos like every day lol. I just generally like bigger reptiles. My smallest is currently my beardy (Charmander) and idk if I would wanna go smaller than she is. But when I say a Cresty face makes my heart skip a beat. Good lord do I mean it 😍😍😍
Go with a leachianus gecko, sure to scratch you everywhere you itch. Got the size and temperament most keepers love and it's just a giant gecko. What could be better for large reptile lovers?
Hey hey Tricia !! great video !....you've helped me alot over time....but i do have a question for you, .... you & i share the same water, as I'm on the south side suburbs of Chicago, and while I have lived here all my life, I've often noticed the water we get from Lake Michigan sometimes smells like a swimming pool, the chlorine scent, my question is, do you use tap water or bottled water for your animals ? My Beardie ( Apollo ) hates the tap water, as well as my Redfooted tortoises, so i try to use bottled water, or water from the refrigerator filtered water dispenser....im just curious what do you use......thanks for vids and information, you are always informative !....take care and stay safe ...Mike
hi trica crusted geckos are my favorite animals i have 2 of them there awesome and i do recommend them! and they aren't for everyone because of what you said but ya there not for everyone but i have 2 and there sooo cute! and i love your content hope to see you in the next one and love your videos!
I have a big issue with feeding my cresties. They only want to eat insects, no fruit mush, no pangea. I dust their insects with vitamins and calcium, but idk if that's enough and also I just hate insects. Idk what to do, I offer everything to them everyday but they don't want it even if I don't give them insects for 2 days or so. Does anyone have experience with that?

My crested gecko prefers drinking from the water bowl but I still mist regularly to keep his options open lol.

Perfect timing ⏱
I want a white cresty so bad.

Crested geckos are on my list the only thing I just don’t know for sure is do they require heat lamps and UVB or not it’s a huge debate online

Now you've got me wondering if gargs would have pretty much the same pros and cons. 🤔
Absolutely! Lol
crusted or crested? XD
I just had a heart attack and thought I misspelled the title 😅
@@reptiliangarden Noooo. the first couple times it sounded like crusted but later on it was crested :)
