My crested gecko will rarely eat bugs. He likes to follow them around the enclosure and lick them. I think they end up dying from stress. I probably would if a huge dragon was stalking me and every time I tried to take a breath it licked me to get me running again.
This was a great video. I work in a pet store and I cannot tell you the number of times that I have people come in and some other pet store has told them the wrong information for an animal or they told them just the basic information. I feel like reptiles are the #1 animal sold in pet stores that don’t get treated properly, I try hard to make for sure that people who come into my store leave with a better understanding of how to care properly for their reptile. And I always reference your videos for people to go do research on their own too! So thank you for these videos!
Isabel Gramajo Awww thank you so much for your support! Hopefully people will learn to do their own research more often and not rely so much on the people working at pet stores.
I got my juvenile 2months ago and I found he likes insects more than his Pangea but he will eat it. Whenever I notice he hasn’t eaten his diet I will add a small piece of fruit and mash it up in his Pangea for one feeding so he can smell it more and he loves it! He definitely is more interested when there is a good smell to the food.
Oh my gosh! Thank you so so much for making this video! I am going to get a crestie for my b-day, and this was very helpful. I'm creating a little menu for it, so I know for sure what to feed it. Again, thank you!
We are fortunate to live near Bassett’s Cricket Ranch in Central California. They sell 3 million Crickets a week! ( Must be tough come branding time…lol) I’m feeding my crickets Pangea/Rapashy and they LOVE it. Also giving them some of our Tortoise’s Spring mix. Cheers Tricia. You remind me much of my friend Bridgette. Really enjoyed the Video. No obnoxious music, just clear and concise.
Very well-made and informative video! I'm glad that someone finally made such an informative video stressing the importance of variety in our pets diet. Thanks again and keep up the good work young lady.
I handfeed my baby crestie just so i know he is eating. I was worried abt him not eating by himself as an adult but now that u said that i have no doubts. Thanks lol
My crestie doesn’t eat bugs. I guess I can put the calcium supplement in his Pangea for him to eat? He does have a uvb bulb but to my knowledge he doesn’t get under it much.
TIP: I feed my crickets the food mixes that my gecko does not like even though I had already bought it! Honestly, bugs will be bugs and eat everything so it helps get rid of the stuff I don't need!
I offer both for mine everyday, I just put like a little bunch of crickets and just let him hunt all of them till they're gone and then replace them when they're gone, and I always have a little cap full of pangea in there everyday, hes a baby but hes growing fast
Hi Tricia, Do you ever put your reptile enclosures outside in the summer to get natural heat and sunlight? I know you can not put glass enclosures out, but do you have any screen enclosures for outdoor use?
I had a baby crestie I ordered from morph market and it was hesitant to eat for the first 10 days or so. I've started adding a drop of honey to its pangea and repashy and it's eating well now. I think this is supposed to help with growth too
Question for anyone out there, with the different types of Pangea is it ok to mix them? Some with insect and some without to give them all the nutrients needed?
So I’ve been feeding my crested gecko meal worms for like the past year, because he won’t eat that mushy fruit stuff and I thought it was fine but recently I found that they have too much protein in them for him so what do I do?
This was great to watch! Always nice to know you're doing things correctly, I didn't realize you could feed less than daily as well! I rotate Rapashy/insects every other day at the moment. I rescued two cresties this month, they were cohabbed in a 10 gallon that smelled positively foul, one is a full grown adult and the other is still a baby, (no idea on ages, they were bought from Petco and didn't have any basics like names, food bowls, ect 😢) I luckily had an exoterra available to move the bigger one into and now they're both thriving and becoming so much more friendly and handleable! These guys are NOT hard to care for, but they do require care!
This might be a dumb question but I was just wondering if all they eat in the wild is fruit and insects then why are they missing out if we feed them that? I have just got a crested gecko and I have Pangea for the baby but yeah I was just wondering
Hi I'm getting a baby crested gecko, so can they eat the pangea food too cuz some people say they should eat different things and also how often should I feed insects and should I dust them with calcium D3
Good morning from PA!!! Hope you have a great day Tricia!!! I have 5 cresties but I still watched the video, never too smart to learn new things! Keep up the great work!
Do you know this all by heart? If so bloody impressive really! Regarding all your animals I'd definitely need some sort of list haha. Wriggling Leroy's (my leo) food around helps sometimes with new food btw 🍃 As of late I happen to watch your vids when back from home depot with new plants to admire, so rather fitting all in all...
I know this is an older video but I was wondering.. How often should they be fed insects? Like how many times a week and can they be fed more than one on the same day or just one however many times a week?
Reptilian Garden, I'm one from your subscriber.... Today is my special day because, today is my birthday 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎂🎂😭, thank you for the new video, i enjoy it.... Have a nice dayy🍀
Hello, thank you for such an informative video! I have been doing a ton of research and prep work before getting our first crested gecko. I have set up a bioactive enclosure, purchased reptisafe, repashy ,and will be picking up some supplements today. I want to make sure we are ready when we bring our little guy home. I have one quick question, I have seen that a lot of people on youtube breed insects for their multiple reptiles. Their setups tend to be large to accommodate so many reptiles, but since we are only keeping one pet crested gecko it seems like maybe this a bad choice? Can you please advise? Should I try to breed my own insects, is it necessary or cost effective for only one reptile?
Hey I just rescued a crested gecko.. He'll eat insects easily but I'm having a HARD time getting him to eat the Repashy.. I dunno what to do.. Please help!!
My 2 year old gecko is afraid of insects due to bad experience at the pet shop, so I don’t feed him those as he won’t eat them and we end up having to have them die before he eats them. Is it ok if I just feed him just rapashi and fruit snacks?
i can't believe my petco sells them, but then doesn't sell the proper food ??? i was just given a young adult crestie by a friend of mine who couldn't care for him and i was scrambling to find food. had to order online... still infuriating how petco sells the animal but not the proper food
Thank you so much for this video, I've recently taken over the care of a beautiful 8 year old crested gecko still with tail and I'm so afraid of failing the little guy and this video was a big help just 1 question if I may I've added a 26w uvb bulb to his enclosure which I've been leaving on for 6 hours a day and he seems to come out of his hide away and sits directly underneath it for about 2 to 3 hours before it goes off, is this OK for him or is it going to harm him ... he is very active at sundown
Hey how are you? I own 2 crested 1 is almost a year and doing well the other is still a baby almost 2 3 months and is a beast eating never refuses a meal eats anything moving it just keeps eating as much as I would offer it’s pooping still good and going for anything I offer is that good?
Hi, my gecko is really weird, he always bites the food stick like it’s an insect and I don’t know why, he also only eats out of his food bowl if I put Dubias in it, I never hear about anyone else having the biting problem. Anyone have a theory or solution?
I've never thought about bee pollen that`s a good one so i googled it seem it`s good in yogurt too i am gonna try that with some roasted grasshopper 🤣😂🤣just having fun on the cooking channel lol. no crested gecko`s here but still learned something !!
Hi! My names Angel! I was given a couple crested geckos by a friend and I’ve been doing what he told me but I’d rather make sure they are getting the proper nutrition as well! I really loved and enjoyed what you said in the video it really helped. I was wondering if by any chance you had a written or printable rough draft of the diet and care needed? Or know a site were I could print it out
You’ll just have to keep trying. Maybe offer different kinds if Insects to see if it’ll interest your crestie! Sometimes they can be picky and have preferences .
Some adults stop eating insects and thats ok because they are already grown, its the younger ones that love insects. Just try pangea with insects and see how he likes it
hello i was thinking about having a crested gecko but i needed to ask you something does the pangea fruit mix have a complete diet so does it need insects in the diet ?
You only feed your geckos every three days? Mine is still growing but at the moment I feed him Pangea on day 1, 2-3 insects on day 2 and nothing on day 3. If I continue this when he is an adult will that be too often?
I crush up dried cricket every so often (I'll boost it up now) and mix it in with its Repashy/Pangea and my Crested will eat that..do you think that is ok for getting insects into its diet? Also great video! Very helpful! Thank you so much!
Awww thank you so much! I have a red footed tortoise care video and diet video! I plan to do more tortoise videos once I gather more information on other species 💕

I rotate my little guy between Repashy Mango and Pangea Watermelon; I don't feed specific feeder insects, but he loves hunting the cleanup crew in his bioactive setup 😅🤣 Knowing that, I feed the cleanup crew some of the Repashy isopod and gutloading formulas a couple times a week; I don't worry about the lack of dusting as the isopods have a good Ca:P ratio unlike crickets and other common feeder insects
My crested gecko will rarely eat bugs. He likes to follow them around the enclosure and lick them. I think they end up dying from stress. I probably would if a huge dragon was stalking me and every time I tried to take a breath it licked me to get me running again.
I feed my feeder bugs apples and tropical fish food for protein works great

Very well-made and informative video! I'm glad that someone finally made such an informative video stressing the importance of variety in our pets diet. Thanks again and keep up the good work young lady.
Thank you for such great information.
I have a big fear of roaches ... Can i only feed my gecko crickets on insect day or do they need various insects ?
Me too…
I handfeed my baby crestie just so i know he is eating. I was worried abt him not eating by himself as an adult but now that u said that i have no doubts. Thanks lol
I always did the same thing. There’s no harm in being sure by hand feeding. Keep up the great work! 💕
I’m getting a crested gecko at a expo next month so I’m trying to get all necessities an things I need to know now, thanks ☺️
My crestie doesn’t eat bugs. I guess I can put the calcium supplement in his Pangea for him to eat? He does have a uvb bulb but to my knowledge he doesn’t get under it much.
I just bought some panjea last wk at a reptile expo...she normally ears rapashy..anxious to try it...she loves her crickets
This helped so much!! I just got a juvenile crested gecko, and this has helped me so much, thank you 😊 😊
I am so happy this helped! Good luck with your little one!
Just got my first ever crested gecko she’s soooo cute and such a helpful video like all of them !💜
so glad I watched this. I went to the ONE reptile spot near me & they told me different things so i looked on here. very helpful ! love your videos
i'm getting my crested gecko tomorrow, and i have a mango tree in my front yard! he'll have a good fresh snack every now and then

I thought crested geckos didn't need to eat insects? If I'm going to offer crickets can this be once a weeknor month?
My boyfriend saw the title and said “whaaaat? 😧 she EATS crested geckos???” 🤦🏼♀️
😂😂😂😂😂
This is probably the funniest comment 😂👍🏼 I’ve seen!
Fish Anonymous he was horrified 😂🤣
brooke elle I can only imagine 😂 so do you have a crested gecko ?
Fish Anonymous we only have snakes, but a created gecko would be super cool some day 🤔 maybe soon
Question for anyone out there, with the different types of Pangea is it ok to mix them? Some with insect and some without to give them all the nutrients needed?

Omg!! Congratulations and good luck with your little Kashi 💕💕💕

If i provide calcium with d3 do i need UVB?
By any chance is there anyone near Sheffield who has a spare crestie tank thats around 18x24 inches that i could buy/take off their hands?
Thankyou

if i don't have a uvb light for my gecko, should i be giving them calcium w/ d3 supplements?
my gecko loves to be hand fed.over going to her feeding ledge

Would you still give calcium with D3 if they are eating Pangea?
I do use vitamin d3 when I feed insects!
do an update on your redfoot tortoise
Thank you so much for answering my many questions
Would it be possible to make one about their lighting please?
yay! thanks for having emmy in your video!!🥰🥰😍

Could you also use dried hibiscus too? Or do you HAVE to use the hibiscus that you grow and is like fresh?
do you know how long i can leave the repashy in the cage before needing to throw it away
24 hours. It should have this info on the container.

for d3, i have some powder but the food i have says it already has d3. Is that okay?
I would definitely provide D3 for a crested gecko, but all the crested gecko diets have synthetic D3 in them, and I don’t want to risk overdoing it!

genuine question regarding the supplement/vitamin section. how come CGD company don't infuse their mix with these?
I think they do, they just need extra
Do you breed and sell created geckos??

Have you ever experienced an asexually hatched crestie? I, as of yesterday, have come across an amazing surprise lmao I got my crestie back in April of last year, who was housed on her own from hatch, and has never came into contact with another gecko. As of 7 o clock yesterday, what I assumed was a really fat egg, turned out to be an actual fertilized egg (?) Which is, rather insane.
Ive heard of rare instances happening like this!!!
Cresties can't reproduce asexually. If the egg was fertile she 100% would've come into contact with a male at some point.
Thank you so much for the help! I wasn’t sure how often I would br feeding this was very helpful
Well that answer alot of questions if I have any I will ask.
LOVE the picky eater tips.
