Everything wrong in society is because corporations are in control. The poor don't control the government, media, or the economy. The rich control all of them, so everything can be fairly blamed on the rich.
I don't know how people get away with these things in the first place. This year I did my taxes myself on Turbo Tax. Before I got my return I got a letter from the IRS saying I made a mistake and I would be getting $147 less than I expected. How people were getting thousands of dollars for free amazes me.
To me it doesn’t seem like most will be charged and sentenced to prison, but many could get a fraud charge of some kind which will hurt job prospects, and they’ll likely be responsible to pay most of it back.
I don't feel bad for them. But also, I feel like there was some amount of responsibility on the part of the lenders. I feel like they gave this money out and planned for this to happen.
Finally! The people who fraudulently received PPP should be made to repay plus fined plus indicted and convicted of grand larceny, whatever the charge.

They are hiring 87k EMPLOYEES over 10 years. They'll lose around 55k in the same time span and are currently about 15k short of what they had 10 years ago sooo that's like a real gain of 17k employees over 10 years. Most will be for customer service and return processing. Saying agent refers to 2 specific positions, revenue agents and special agents. Special agents are armed because they deal with criminals and there's like 2k of them. Revenue agents are field auditors and are unarmed. Still a low number
I know an owner of a dry cleaning business that did not have to pay the loan back as long as he used 20% of the money to pay employees who had not been able to work.

The IRS never give back money it takes when they under pay it refund people. You have to catch it and request it. Sad that people are out here doing this to survive. I own a small business and I refused to apply for it. My partner at the time kept mentioning it I still refused to do so because nothing is free, especially from the government. There was a pre-application ( not PPP) that gave I believe $1k per employee. We did that and left it alone. The government continued to send emails to finish the application process and I refused to apply my name with his to protect my credit. I did not want anything to do with loans to support my business. The overhead cost was not that much of a burden. I do know if several people who abused this program. I have to say, the government should take a good portion of the blame for this. It reminded me of the Sandy storm that hit New Jersey. They gave grants to all theses residents for water damage they created by throwing water on their walls and spent the money. I lost a car and had to take out a SBA loan (with interest) to get back what I lost due to the devalue of my vehicle, they did not have to give me the Blue book value if the car because it was a disaster declared. They did not offer me a grant because my credit is in good standing. Ten years? good luck. You won't get much from these people because most didn't have much to begin with. Jail? they are still using tax prayers money to house them. It cost over $30k to $69k per year to house 1 inmate.

The state of Illinois was not prepared for the overwhelming amount of applicants that applied for benefits during the pandemic so instead of the regular interview process, the state went in the system and approved every applicant. Then hired a team of people to go back to see if everyone THEY approved qualified for a year of benefits they were approved for and recieved. If they did not qualify the applicant was deemed reasonable for paying the state back those unemployment funds.
With all that hype, it's 1 year later and mostly nothing has been done. Here I am doing the right thing while the criminals run free. This was allowed to happen.

Have a business 22 years and it took 3 times to get approved before they ran out, got the bare minimum, saved my business, grateful‼️
