I think the cargo light situation could be improved without having to wire another lamp on the other side. What about a mirror on the other side? Maybe a little dome mirror to spread the light out. You could even velcro something like that in.
I don't think I've seen anyone to a review like this! These details are something I find out after I've purchased the car & have messed around with it. Wish they've put at least a small ambient led lighting to shine down on the center console area. This is something that's overlooked on many cars that really should be standard feature - it gives some sense to where things are about. My 2019 Golf R didn't have one so I had to custom fit one - tried about 6 different LED's and bunch of tests with resistors to find the correct temperature & lumen output to get it right but still not as good as ones come stock in cars. The sister version Tucson at least has an ambient light in the front center cubby where the phone goes.
They do actually have an ambient light strip but only around the center console where you change the gears, but its an extra $300 for them to install it
For everyone asking if there is Ambient Lighting, you have to add it on the EX trim for about $300! Its a light strip around the center console and you can change the colors as well from the display screen

And yes, I would have loved to have the hybrid but we had already needed a replacement car for a while at that time and they were significantly behind the gas (especially the plug in version, which would be my preference). That + the price premium = :c . Briefly considered 'trading up' but it would just be too much $$.
I would ask the dealership to connect you to their upholstery repair/cleaner person. Dealerships have a lot of connections they use to prepare their trade-in vehicles for resale and they can work wonders.
do they keep passing the same press car around for review? I saw another review where the EX had the fancier full digital gauge cluster. I can't emphasize this enough. The EX does NOT have that gauge cluster. Only the SX Prestige has that cluster. The LX and EX have the smaller 4.2 LCD flanked by digital speedo and tach. IMO this is FALSE advertising showing people a car that you cannot actually buy. I opted for the SX model specifically for the full digital gauge cluster. Other than that, I enjoyed the video.
I agree, I have the EX AWD, but no Premium package, I contacted Kia because I was also under the impression I would have the ability to switch to the analog gages, and have the weather background on the speedometer. I saw an early press car that had this but someone said it was a late 2022. I don't know, but I wish Kia could put out a firmware update so we could all be the same.

Ticks me off that they keep showing these with a dash display that you Cannot get on a new 23 Sportage EX Hybrid. I ordered mine sight unseen and was stunned I did not have these display options. Kia, step up to the plate and make this right for everyone!
Can anyone who owns the 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid EX comment on how well or badly the headlights and brights work on driving curvy mountain roads? I heard they only passed safety inspection on the top two models -- but lower than X and X-pro were rated Poor at a 4.
Not the best, but that’s relatively speaking. Any vehicle in 2023 is MILES better than the very best was in 2013. It’s just comparatively speaking, cars have gotten insanely bright headlights in recent years. Good for drivers, not so good for others. But I would not have noticed that it’s anywhere near a “poor” rating unless I had a very bright other car to compare it to. I would have assumed it’s perfectly acceptable. On that note, You can just use your high beams since everyone else’s “better rated” normal beams are as bright as high beams. Problem solved I guess the only thing to do is find a time at night to go inspect one.
They made two big mistakes with this model sportage, kia please pay attention... who can see that small reverse light in the back? and the pocket sizes in the interior and console could be much bigger too hold things like the crv.. ..should have matched the crv there. I think iam going to hold to my 2020 crv Touring longer.
Kia don't have the brightest or smartest headlights around unfortunately. Skodas are far superior.. then high end Beemer.. Kia is way down the list. Otherwise a pretty good package.

These seats are fairly easy to clean. You could add a surface protectant to new seats to make them even easier to keep clean.
