How to reset a Hoover / Candy washer dryer machine PCB / self diagnosis without mobile app

- In this video I will show you how to run your Hoover / Candy washer dryer through a PCB reset. This will allow the appliance to run up certain parts of the machine to check they are functioning correctly and if there are any faults picked up the error will be displayed in the display.
To access the diagnosis turn your control dial twice in a clockwise position, then within 3 seconds press and hold the first option button closest to the control knob. In this case it’s the temperature selection button but for you it could be something else depending on the model you have. If this has been done in the time frame the whole of the display should light up and then after that press the Start/Pause button.
Once the door is locked the machine will run through the diagnostic process.
This just saved us who-knows-how-much in not getting someone called out! Thank you so much! 🙏

Thank you so much, I have had the trap door at the front open, and it was clean, although loads of water came running out of my DXOA49C3R 9KG 1400 Spin. I have followed your instructions and got to the thumbs up, and now I have just put a wash on and its spinning. Thank you again from a very happy washer.
@@thehiltongirl not a problem at all, I’m glad I could help you out! You will tend to get quite a lot of water coming from the fluff filter when you pull it out, only because the machine will only be able to pump out the water which is has available, once it gets to a certain point there is no further water to aid the stuff already in the pipe to push through. Either that or if your waste pipe is connected to a spigot under your sink make sure it’s pointing up to prevent any water from your sink back flowing into your machine as water will always flow though the path of least resistance.
My machine wasn't doing the fast spin in the program, so the clothes were soaking wet at the end of the wash, I was suggested to reset my machine, so I found your video which is now working perfectly, thanks so much.
I have this exact same model. It wasn't spinning. Did what you said and it went into an insane spin, threw itself around the place, had to shut it off. But now, it seems to be working fine. Thank you. ❤

Hello, I’ve got the hoover h300 wash&dry and when I try to run this programme via the wizard app it’ll only go the drum filling up with water and then all the icons are lit and just sits like that until I turn it off at the mains. Doesn’t even to the spinning mode on it either
Usually the display should throw up an error code if it can’t progress the whole test. Are you getting anything like that at all or anything prior to it not working?
Thanks for sharing your video. I have one of these machines. Washes perfectly but lately, restarts itself over and over during drying (high or low heat). Sometimes restarts once per minute. I've changed a Triac and worked fine for a few days. Any ideas?

Tried this reset and the first lot of water went in but the second lot started and then stopped and now a small amount of water goes in every minute or so and it's like it's stuck

I have the same machine with an E20 I've cleared the pump and all pipes. It is definitely pumping.

hi, I now have the same issue. Mine occurred after trying to connect the wifi for the first time. Seems to have malfunctioned, checked electrics, fuse etc, all good. Did you ever find a solution?
Exactly the same problem as yourself and I’m baffled in how to fix the issue
I took motherboard out and could see it had burned out. Got a new board, it now powers up but only gives error 21 no matter what you do. Checking online error 21 is to do with drain pump. I've taken that off cleaned and checked it and its all ok. So now I'm stuck again. Someone mentioned it could be a faulty heater element. Not sure if there is more than one element, but if anyone has any ideas would be great
I had my Hoover machine light up and 411 came up on the dashboard whereas yours says 197 - I presume that's because this is a different model to mine?
So it's a clean out cycle? I had just washed my tea towels on a 90° wash and was just about to wash my hand towels!

Hi, I have a Candy Alise washer dryer and I'm having an issue with the dry cycle. It seems like when I try to use the dry cycle it is then washing for 4hours. Any ideas whether this is a scrap job or can this issue be fixed?

@theapplianceengineer are there similar steps to reset the drying elements of a Hoover? Followed the steps and all appeared to work as your video shows but doesn't resolve issue of the dryer not getting up to normal heating levels
@@BiggestApple this could mean a few issues. I would first of all check that your pathways are clear, remove your fluff filter and look down that channel and if you see a build up of fluff use a vacuum cleaner with a service tool or get a dryer cleaner adapter for your vacuum which I find a lot easier to use and can get on Amazon for around £10. I would also recommend cleaning your fluff filter in hot soapy water to make sure it’s not restricting airflow also. If you hold the filter to a light source and notice areas are white and cloudy, this is an accumulation of fluff/ dead skin and limescale which will prevent efficient drying results.
If your dryer is a condenser model you could also have a fluff build up on the back plate which houses the heater and circulation fan. If you have a vented model you can have the same issue in the exit pipework or the termination flap on the outside of the building might be restricted due to build up.
If your machine is still producing heat I wouldn’t think the heater is failing as most models have an overheat stat on them which triggers if it exceeds a set temperature to prevent things like fires.

hello boss, i have same like this model 9kg,it was make buzzers noises continuously when its switch off. After i check the drain filter i have found some pins and coins. Then i take out filter (whole unit)carefully and clean it after i fix it it wont make ant noises but there is no display on the panel!!
but i could hear the beep sound when i turn the selector. What will be the problem please help me thank you..

I have had issues with the machine not registering that the door is closed. If you open and close the door again and apply slight pressure to the area where the door lock is and press the start button again this should do it. I have had the problem before where I have had to press the start button twice as the machine had beeped but not locked the door to start the programme.
My machine is coming up as having door locked but can stil be opened..machine wnt wash as door open not locked

Same machine with error 02 so it starts for a minute or 3 then 02 comes up, I checked the pipes,it's in a wee shed outside sonI used the inlet hose to to blast down the drawer and up and into the drainage so nothing is stuck apart from myself,

I have tried this it went through the reset ok, spun up started flashing at the end ok. Tried it after still not spinning up, water flow is ok you can here it and drink fills ups but just doesn’t spin, it is 5 years old now and this is the first issue guess it’s time to upgrade
Is this all the time you use it or when you have heavier loads inside the machine? I would think just by what you have said you may have had an issue with your carbon brushes if its being used a lot?
Good tip - but if you have a Hoover wash and dry 300, this method wont work, sadly
This method should work on the washer dryers as well. Unless the buttons have been changed around.

Hi there i want this model spare parts. My Washing Machine Touch pannel is not working properly and it change the settings Automatically.
Can you send the model and serial number over and I can send you the part numbers you need. Usually its the front display and facia PCB which has issues. Has the plastic on the touch screen come away?
I have done this within but it just fills with water and thats it. In stages, like it starts and stops and doesn't spin. The time reads 0:95 also.
Have you checked to see if the drain pump is obstructed? If the water can't drain out it wont go into spin cycle as pressure switch is being told water is still in the machine.
It doesn't work, the water tank at the bottom is clean, it looks like the machine isn't throwing water out.

Not please with my Hoover H 300 the lock symbol is on and you can't go any further with this symbol locked you can't reset its stuck on even un plunging for an hour still stuck on lock I do not recommend this machine and mine is only weeks old ?
Might have activated the child lock. Programme won’t run unless that is turned off.

If the door lock has been replaced and you have checked the wires which connect to the lock I would say there is an issue with the board behind the facia panel. Let me know how your investigating goes!

Manual says to turn knob to "OneFi Extra" and then press "temperature selection" and "start/pause" simultaneously until the displays shoes "rr".
But nothing happens.

The one thing I'm going to ask is do you have an IPhone or Android? For some reason Hoover/ Candy WiFi only connects to Android devices as they have something in them that the IPhones don't. This is information which I learnt a few years ago but hopefully they have rectified this.

My washer dryer has stopped heating when drying! What to do??
Usually its the overheat stat on the side of the dryer chamber has clicked as its overheated. If you isolate the power to machine and take the lid off you will see the dryer unit. On the left hand side of the dryer unit there should be a little circular part with 2 tags on it and a red button in the middle. If you press it and it clicks that means your pathway around that area is obstructed with fluff or the fan motor blade is blocked. Remove the Whole unit and take it apart, clean the unit completely along with the fan blade then when it all dry put it back onto the machine. Hopefully this is the issue you are having but if not it might be the dryer sensor on the front of the dryer unit near to where it connects to the door seal.

E:08 usually refers to the motor having a problem.

If the buttons on the machine are unresponsive or the cycle will not start demo mode may have been activated. To remove from demo mode press and hold the buttons "Memo" and "Anti crease" for 7 seconds.
This maybe different from machine to machine. Either this option or the machine is in child lock mode if buttons aren't working. If you look at the display facia and it has a lock icon try pressing the button/ buttons its pointing to and that should do it. Failing that usually they hide that info in the instruction manual. Let me know how it all goes!

Shania Magno E-02 is a filling fault so need to make sure your water supply is on and also make sure the inlet pipe isn’t kinked

Is code E08 fixable ?
Usually that error is to do with the motor so yes that can be repaired. Just needs to be checked to make sure it’s just the motor which is effected or maybe damage to the PCB also.
Could someone please help me my washing machine is coming up with E22. I have cleaned the filter out and tried resetting it but still comes up. I can’t afford to have someone come out and fix it. Would like to be able to do it myself. Thank you
Check your waste pipe to see if there is any obstructions you can see, depending on where it terminates you could have a blockage there. If this is ok what you should do is get underneath the appliance and remove the hose that connects to the drain pump housing and check for any obstructions there. Recently I have had a lot of face masks getting caught there which will restrict water flow.
If this is not the cause I would suggest removing as much water out of the unit as possible max remove the filter and run on a spin cycle and watch to see if the pump is rotating correctly. If it seems laboured that might be your issue.

What does it mean?
This basically runs the machine through a test of all the parts to see if they are running as intended. If the machine comes across something which isn't working as intended it will show an error code.

Is the WiFi not responding for you by any chance? I have found out that the machine will only connect with Android phones and not with IPhone models. For some reason the Android phones has a programme in it which the IPhones don't have.

Hello, I have the Hoover H-WASH 300 LITE and my switchboard won't turn on, I have checked electrical outlet and fusebox and there's no problem there. Do you have any advice for this? Being a single mum of two repairs would set me back so much 😭😭
Usually from my experience if you have already tested the socket and fuse in the plug it sounds like the control board has failed. Depending on the model it either has 1 or 2 boards but usually one of the displays relays pops.

Mine cuts out on the dry function all the time, but not every time. I have to take the top panel off and press a little red button. Does anyone know how to fix this?
The red little button is a mechanical thermostat who pretects from overheating the resistance of the dryer.There are two of them. If it pops everytime you must check for the air intake of the dryer if it has any clogs from fibers etc... If it is clean then the next step is a faulty temperature sensor who is located next to the resistance in the dryer session. Or even the mechanical thermostat itself it is faulty.
What this guy said. Bang on explanation! I usually get issues with the fluff build up. I would add to also check the wires to the sensor which is at the end of the channel going into the door seal for signs of fraying.

Machine isn’t draining water. Possible obstruction in your fluff filter at the bottom of the unit. Will need to remove and take out anything which will be obstructing the pump impeller.
I have this same problem and cleared the obstruction, was a hair tie.
But now the machine just fulls water in the pre wash draw.
And stops and start water in the main water draw. Won't go into wash or spin mode now.
My mother had a Candy for 29 years. My three year old hoover not as o trusty. I now have a time and padlock symbol 1000 and either b or h 01 error code. Can anyone help

Depending on the age and model usually the E07 means and issue with the door lock. I would check to see if the door pin on the door is level. I have a video on the channel which shows how to check the door catch. If that's ok I would say check there is power getting to the door seal and if it is being supplied with power I would say it's either a problem with the lock itself or the PCB.

I’ve got the ‘all in one’ washer dryer and it doesn’t heat up during the drying cycle. Will this work as a reset?

@@momoshihab1 you have to pull the unit out completely and you will have 3 7mm socket screws on the back of the machine which hold the lid on. Remove all three and slide the top away from the facia. The thermal cut out will be on the side of the dryer heater. Just push the top bit in and you should hear a click. That will reset the thermal cut out but ideally you will need to figure out why it cut out in the first place. Obviously do all of this whilst the unit it switched off and plug disconnected from the supply.

That isn't a reset lol, that is the engineer test mode.
It’s the same process you have to go through when you replace a pcb which is also classed as a ‘reset’. I did also state in the description that it is a ‘diagnosis’ test which can be used to show if there are any further faults.

Lol that’s a general test routine, will not cure any faults!! And that’s a fact!! And it does not reset anything!!
I never said it would cure any faults, if you read the description it shows if there are any faults during the machine going through a diagnostic. Also if you have replaced one of these boards before the paperwork provided describes it as a ‘board reset’
@@theapplianceengineer as a hoover engineer I know this, the description stated how to reset Hoover/candy washer drier machine pcb, that is why I put what I wrote, and I’ve replace and programmed lots of these nfc modules
@@captainmorgan5781 no you said that the procedure won’t clear any faults. I never stated in the title or description that this would fix any fault but more that it would show any faults if the machine was to find any during the diagnostic test.
Well if you are a Hoover engineer then you would know what I’m taking about when you replace a PCB. This is exactly what you need to do after powering back on, whether it be a washer dryer, washing machine or tumble dryer.

Hello there. When you say the spin button sticks is the final spin going through or nothing at all? Have you had an E8 error code come up or maybe the belt has come off?

I believe a whole front panel has to be bought to repair it.
