John, Yes Sir a lot of the creeks in West Tennessee are very low too. I have my Creek Monster Tee-shirt on and at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville my wife is getting Chemo treatment for Leukemia and could use Prayers for her ,and her name is Mary Lynn ,a nurse said that they watched your channel also wants one too ,I told her that I've got a Autographed Creek Fishing Adventures cap, bracelets, stickers. I am 63 years old and really enjoyed your channel and thanks for sharing and catching some great looking Smallmouth Bass, Rock Bass, Gar.
Hope the best man...sounds like you are a creek hopper like myself ..I wish you were catching spotted bass wading here in ky as we have lately...seen some crazy competition between smallmouth & spots ...& Spots on spots ..they are thugs 😂...crashing baits like winter is tomorrow 😂
@@HERMETICSUBROSA Yes Sir I am, I did tournament bass fish for years and when it became work I went back to creek fishing and caught my PB Smallmouth Bass 5 pound on my ultra light rod and reel , it did take me several stressful minutes to land her.
Nice fishing. I live on the Gulf Coast, in Pensacola, but spent four years up in Bristol in the ‘70s at a tiny little Christian college next to the racetrack. The college is now defunct. I love my Gulf Coast, but miss the beautiful scenery of Northeast Tennessee. We did a day hike on Appalachian Trail in October, and to this day, I’ve never seen leaves as red. The pageantry of the fall in the Smoky Mountains is unmatched. Almost all the fishing I’ve done has been saltwater, and to me, every panfish is a bream, and every bass is a bass. I think we have spotted bass down here, but I don’t think I could ID one, but I’m pretty sur3 there are no smallmouth. Not sure about rock bass. Anyway, love your videos. God bless!
@@CreekFishingAdventures I’ve caught a couple smaller ones while speckled trout fishing with shrimp up in the top of Pensacola Bay where the river runs into the bay.
Fun adventure in low creek today especially at the end. Looks like I’m hitting the river after watching this have to see my reservoirs are still releasing water. Have a great week!
This channel got me back into wading creeks which I haven’t done since I was 12. I used to love it, and 20 years later it made me feel like a kid again the first time I went out this summer. And I’ve been going all summer since. So I just wanted to say I appreciate your channel. I’m in TN as well and have found a creek absolutely loaded with smallmouth bass (some big ones too!) that very few people fish, it’s my new secret spot lol
I can relate. I'm in Kentucky and grew up wade fishing when I was a kid. Then I git married and had kids and worked all the time and didn't get much time to fish. Now my kids are grown and I've been wade fishing a ton the past several years. Sometimes I'll go twice after work in the spring and summer and fish weekends too. Creek and river fishing is my favorite. I also take my kayak on them fishing.
Most of the flow of creeks coming off Walden’s Ridge actually go underground as they hit limestone strata when they hit the valley. In the wet season there is enough flow to continue in the channels downstream but as summer proceeds the above ground channels can become a trickle. The tributaries on top of the ridge are drought prone too compared to valley streams.
Always enjoy your videos man. I had the best day fishing I've ever had today. I absolutely slayed the Crappies at one spot this morning early and then went to another spot this evening and slayed the Warmouths. Almost to a point of catching them every cast. They were extremely active. It's been a rough past few outings with my buddy and I asked the Lord to let us have a good day fishing and He did.
Nice little video and your right john you never know wear the fish are at and if you don't try you will never know that creek had to be hard to walk and fish as low as it was thank you for the video
20” smallie, that was a gorgeous spec! Congratulations. I’ve passed on creeks/rivers near us that are that dried up; I won’t moving forward. Duh, look for the pools. Thx for the reminder!
Great video brother. I love how you pushed on and pointed out what it should be like. And from the 20 inch creek grandpa to rock bass over the ledge your enjoying it all the same. Wraps up my morning pond outing. Bass weren't too big but willing. The bluegill and green sunfish I caught on the ultralight and Mepps spinner with those little bass so worth it. Blessings John
Wow. What a shame. This has been such a brutally hot summer. I hate to see creeks, streams and ponds so low with water. Fish kills are so common.Glad you caught a few. That walk must have been tough on your ankles!
Well this makes me feel a little better. I was thinking I was just a bad fisherman but it is tough across the board right now. Record low water levels all across the south on top of the already difficult late summer bite.
TWRA relocated 105 "laurel dace" an endangered fish species a month or so back because of streams drying up. It's one of the 10 most at risk species in the U.S. and now just found along the Walden Ridge area. At least we got some rain the last few days! #Hellgrammite #Mountain Dew 😃
"Oh, no, now i gotta turn into that guy" lol. Ironically, just now as I'm sitting watching this, as your Lifeflight chopper lifted off and headed away, an Air Ambulance helo came up over some nearby trees and flew right over me! No joke! What a coincidence. 🙃
Today was a tough day for creek fishing. I went wading for about 2 hours and caught 5 but nothing over 12 inches. Fishing the 3" hellgrammite in shallow creeks in Lebanon, Ohio.
Unusually low water level. It's amazing that you caught what you did. That big smallie had prob cleaned out that hole he lived in just to stay alive. Not sure where you are at, but I think I can see the roof of a building and a windsock that helo pilots use for wind direction and wind speed. John, have you ever fished Watts Bar around Ten Mile ? I have a good friend that lives in that area. Pap Blevins.
Water levels are way lower in most of the south and the bite is definitely VERY difficult. I am thinking about hanging it up till the fall. Makes 4 trips of very difficult fishing fer me.
Slow start but a strong finish good job, as a former Flight Medic you wouldn’t believe how close people want to get to the helicopter during the scene flight lol
Could just as easily been a large deer as opposed to cow or horse. If so then I'd bet it likely got hit by some vehicle and fell into the water, or made it to the creek for a drink after being hit, where it ultimately succumbed from its injuries.

Unbelievable fishing in that low water creek. You choose the most beautiful places to fish. Just gorgeous scenery.
Amazing Smallie!!
You should really carry one of those tiny retractable measuring tapes with you!
Outstanding black smallies !

Why all the leaves? Aren’t we still in summer, officially? Lol
Hot/dry will cause trees to shed. That's what's going on in middle GA.

@Nunyah_Bidness good point, I didnt think of that.
Wonder if this is piney river. I’ve been there a lot this year and it looks just like this with a lot of gar
Do you think the leaves in the water hurt the efficacy of topwater bait?
Yes for sure. I buzzbait does pretty well in light leaves
Lifestar 2 outta Roane Co
It’s been there since last year. I seen it and have pictures dating it
The deer skeleton
John, what type of pack are you carrying in this video? Looking for a lighter option than my bass pro backpack. Nice old man you yanked out.
15$ Walmart backpack. Or whatever it cost it was a cheap backpack from Walmart. It’s just easier and simple and I don’t care if it tares.
What weight and shank size are those ewg ned rigs?
what is the setup you're using
Way to be persistent! We need a rain!
Bro John do u just pick ur Helgramite color or grab first one U see or based on lighting conditions outside !!?? Just curious 😊
No reason really. I mostly like the darker color ones but I’ve caught fish in all of them
@CreekFishingAdventures thanks Bro. John God Bless U !
That's not fall Color it's because of the Drount there dieing because there not getting enough water. We are in and bad drought in Tennessee.

Any time gar are loaded up in an area, you can pretty much guarantee that fishing will be tougher. They're a nuisance.
John do they make those shoes with felt bottoms?
Not these I don’t think. They are really more for like boat shoes but have been really comfortable in the creeks
Those fish gotta be super stressed, I feel bad for fishing in those conditions literally fish in a barrel.
GOLD ??
Let me tell something I caught anger and flip on and went back into the river into the river on tge bank like and snake all bey it's self.
Say what now?
