I just replaced the original K70 MK1 with this k70 pro and it is SUPERB. Brilliant keyboard. Keys feel amazing. The action of the switches and the texture of the keycaps, out of this world. Feels like I got a new computer.
Good design. I love Corsair's little edge on top that hides the RGB lighting so it doesn't reflect in the monitor, even if that isn't strictly it's purpose. PBT caps is a nice touch, save people some money and that wrist rest actually looks usable and premium. Now why in the heck couldn't they make it sound better? Screw the 8000hz polling rate! Give us proper padding and lubed switches instead.
didn't even notice the ping until you mentioned it. Thanks.... Also, the mute icon showing up isn't a thing now so I assume they fixed it. I udpated the firmware as soon as i installed it so maybe that was the fix.
use a hair dryer on the cord if it doesnt lay flat. dont get it too hot just enough when you hang it by the plug it will release and go straight and STAY that way, your negative is a positive if you know what your doing
When it comes to typing, the ping isn't an issue since I have a pretty light touch on keys. Every now and then I'll hit a key hard enough to hear it, but its really rare. If I'm playing a game where I'm pressing away I get it more often. Even then its not so bad. Maybe it's luck of the draw like I read on a forum, but the pinging wasn't bad on my old K70 either.
Please, can you turn off the RGB on the logo? Also on the multimedia keys and other effects? Just want the 104 common keys on, the rest off, is that possible?
The pinging isnt that bad and gets better with use it is not due to the case it is due to spring ping inside the switch which is a notrious issue with Cherry MX Switches not about the case but the case can exacterbate the situation.
This is interesting. I have the original K70 RGB (no usb hub and right after the tramp stamp logo revision). I have brown switches and don't notice the ping . . . odd. How do Cherry Red Silent switches feel and sound? I was considering upgrading my old KB to the K70 Pro but am stuck on which switches to get. I've been using brown for years. Maybe silent reds would be a good change especially since I want to try streaming again. Thoughts? Good review!

Corsair only added PBT keycaps and 8000 Hz polling rate, but took away USB passthrough and extra textured MOBA keycaps. Also no improvement in sound profile, metal pings and stabilizers rattle are still there, a hard pass.
I've been so excited to get the k70 pro brown switches, my first Corsair keyboard, after hearing so many praises of Corsair - and this ping is driving me nuts. I'm unable to replace it unfortunately. Will stay away from Corsair keyboards from now on, utter disappointment. Also, the wrist rest is just horrid. My old Razer ornata chroma had a perfect wrist rest, I'm using it now instead of the Corsair one. Can't believe i've heard so many people giving a hard time for Razer and praising Corsair, but in my experience it's the complete other way round. I hope this will help other people decide to NOT get this keyboard.
I really thought Corsair might have learnt from the Champion Edition and sorted that resonance issue the case has. I sold mine because of it. Was doing my head in. Must try harder Corsair or you are going to be left behind in the keyboard and mouse department.
I did as well I had the k70 tourney addition with silver. Sold it after a day I could hear that awful ping through my headphones. Otherwise k rlly liked the keyboard

It sounds incredibly awful. It's clacky, hallow, and pingy. Why does it take up so much room above the top row of keys, when there' hardly any keys there? You could land a plane on that thing, with it being so large, flat, and barren. Why does it only have a single brightness key? You know most backlit keyboards have up and down, not just 'cycle', right? 8000Hz polling rate is great for rhythm games, like osu! players. The software customization is great, but it's been great for a while now. Basically, the only new thing is 8000Hz polling rate. Everything else about this new K70 is ancient, and it has the same flaws as the original one.
Can you test something for me? If you listen to the keyboard really closely, does it beep? I got this keyboard as a test sample, and it beeped. The representative told me that this was a known problem and he arranged for the samples to be taken back. I've gotten a new one now, but despite the lower volume, the keyboard still gives out that beep when the RGB is set to maximum....
@@JackWoodhams Yes, I have that as well. But that's just how the keyboard is build. The beeping is unfortunate. It's not a problem if I don't put the RGB on 100% or just use specific colors. But when I do some more elaborate RGB stuff on 100% brightness the beep is there. Anyway, apparently they did fix it, and I just got a bad sample. Thank you for answering.

I prefer tractile. You barely hear the typing when you have a headset on, and even with it off your mind just learns to tune it out. The feel of tactile just feels way better.
Corsair has been left behind by the rest of the market. There as so many better options for this price point from custom ones from smaller custom manufacturers to the bigger brands such as ASUS and Razer. But honestly you wouldn't know that this was a horrible keyboard if you have never stepped onto the world of mechanical keyboards. I never noticed who terrible my K70 was until I decided one day I wanted to try a custom keyboard so I tried the Keychron Q2 and that blew my mind. I then put in some Gateron Box Pinks and lubed and filmed them and wow the difference is night and day in how it feels and sounds. I can never go back to the clack of these mass market gaming mechanical keyboards again.
I went into a few custom boards, friend built it for me tryna match my taste, i have to disagree, yes the build quality is excellent but finding a custom board that has all my gamer features is hard and when you do find them their insane $$ like just finding one with a fucking volume scroll wheel is a ballache let alone the cost they want for them when they do

The sound and feel is still better than previous K70’s but I do agree. Should have at least had the same stabs used in the K65 mini.

I have this keyboard and its great. Only the icue software eats your cpu. Good thing you can delete the software and use the keyboard without it.
Uhm, iCue wont install automatically so if you don't want it just don't download it no ? haha 🙂

No beeping for me, just the ping when I press it which is just the keys bottoming out and the sound resonating through the keyboard.
