Love the review, nice video bruv. I have always been a console gamer but I have loved the idea of having your own gaming pc that can run games at amazing rates. But the thing that holds me back from building one is all the time spent on my PSN account. Yes, games like call of duty and other major games ask you to sign in so your account can be used on any platform the games accepted on. But for other games like the trophies you’ve earned and all the time spent on them will be forgotten. Something I would love is if Sony made a PlayStation pass like Microsoft did so everything I have done on my console I can continue on a computer if I decide to ever change to playing on a computer. Just spitting this out to see if you would agree with me on this but it’s completely your choice dude and whatever suits you.
Eight years with my Corsair K70 lux, and it's still rocking! This keyboard has been my gaming sidekick since forever. The Cherry MX switches and RGB lighting never fail, and that aluminum frame still looks sleek. It's seen all my gaming triumphs and defeats. Here's to many more years with my trusty keyboard!
I've had my k95 for what must be 8 years now too. It has survived spills and is still amazing. I've had a lot of Corsair products break on me within 2 years but their keyboards do seem to be truly amazing.

Corsair keyboards and mice are so good. Awesome purchase. It depends on the game actually. FPS, ARPG, CRPG, MMO, MOBA, RTS always just on keyboard, rest of the genres on controller.
I absolutely love Corsairs products but for me the mice never pan out. After 1-2 years, the middle mouse button just stops working. I've went through three different models (including warranty for each almost).
Great review and in depth coverage of the KB. I've got a K70 that I've had for a few years, with red switches, and it's the best KB I've had. Just wish it was wireless like my MX Keys! Look forward to seeing you build your own PC!
I had bought - or rather pre-ordered - a Ducky Shine 7, months ago as of writing this comment. However, the actual delivery time has been left in the air with the ETA date not finalized. As the end of April approaches, I still haven't got word when I'll actually receive it. It might very well be a long while before I actually get it. So, in the meantime I ended up buying the K70 RGB Pro with Cherry Mx Blue switches as "Plan B" since it's not clear when I'll get the Ducky. It's actually pretty good and it might serve as my main keyboard, my "Plan A". It's got some heft and it feels like it is made of good quality materials. Plus, the K70 has the stuff I liked about the Ducky Shine 7 to begin with, which was the metal backplate, PBT keycaps out the box, and detachable USB cable. Also, the K70 has a clean aesthetic like the Shine 7 does. I'm a sucker for a clean and simple look. I've never been into what I call the over the top "Gaming Greebles" look that a lot of computer parts tend to have. The K70 looks like a keyboard that you can use in an office without it looking sorely out of place - as does the Shine 7 - which is a plus for me. In all I'm quite impressed with it.
Great vid. I would’ve liked a section to hear how audible/clacky the keys sounds. In the “macro recording” portion there’s a typo, “Marco.” I game on both PC & console and have for decades and I still think console is the way. PCs are out of control expensive at the moment, and while they most definitely have their perks, hard to beat the plug & play of the console experience.
I believe cherry Mx RGB Speed are linear, so they're supposed to have little to no sound. Whereas MX Browns are tactile and have a bump (almost like a mild haptic feedback) when you push, they are not supposed to be auditory. MX blues are clicky, and just as the name suggests, make a clicking noise when actuated.
i just wish corsair boards weren't so damn loud and the stabilizers didn't get weird over time and the keycaps didn't crack - because their featureset is second to none
2022 Keyboard I'm a console gamer. I tried gaming on a computer, but it's not the same as using a controller and TV. Probably because I grew up playing on the NES and SNES 🎮

I'm having a hell of a time finding full-size keyboards that are aluminum and rgb capable. Granted, this will also be my first mechanical, so I could just be a moron and misunderstanding what I'm reading. If you have any suggestions on full-size keyboards, I'd appreciate it. Because every youtuber who is in the community is hardcore 60% and maybe up to 75%. There are some who've made videos about buying pre-built boards, but none that I see doing custom.
@@fire_fux Full size custom keyboards are REALLY rare. The closest you'll find tp a full size is an 1800 layout, and even those are hard to come by. A better alternative to a full size is to get a tkl, 75% or 65% and get a separate custom numpad, if you can't live without it.

It's why I'll probably just say heck with it and go with a "gaming board" because I don't need the extra hassle of custom building a TKL and then also doing a numpad. I'm getting into coding, and I like having that large real estate on my keyboard. Maybe my opinion/tastes will change in the next couple of years, but as of now, no numpad is kind of a deal breaker. I have a Corsair Strafe RGB MK.2 Silent keyboard, but my youngest son destroyed the space button (it is not repairable). I was thinking to replace it with this one but I do not know how noisy it is compair to switches Cherry sillent of my current keyboard.
Very nice review. Just ordered this. I miss my old original K70 with the browns. Since then Ive gone through two other boards a K95 Plat with the speed switches and a K95 Plat XT with the Blues. just miss those Browns. Something about them lol. I can definitely vouch for the PBT keycaps. My K95 XT came with them and over a year in with heavy use they still look and feel brand new. Compared to the regular smooth caps off the regular K95 Plat with over a year of use are shiny and some of the letterings are worn off.

I just bought it instead of my K95 RGB, as the latter makes me make a lot of typos due to its extreme sensitivity. I prefer Cherry MX RED because they are better suited for both gaming and writing. They are a perfect middle ground.
y'know, i've heard a lot of opinions of Mx reds never heard them called a "middle ground" for typing & gaming lol, that's typically what MX Browns are,. MX Reds are purely gaming switches, their not a compromise at all.
I'm getting this to replace my K70 RGB RAPIDFIRE mk.1 (was using it for my Corsair Lap Dog) for my main PC and I'm also getting a Logitech G915 TKL Linear for my downstairs PC. So excited!
I got it with OPX switches. Its fast and responsive! For gaming is great. For typing it is too loud. Too noisy when I press the buttons. I wish I can do something about it. Have in mind that the tournament mode doesn't run on 8000 polling rate so I don't see any point of using it.
@@ript0kyo I haven’t owned other quality keyboards so take my opinion with a grain of salt. The keyboard is plenty bright for my room. There’s no direct sunlight on my setup, but it is in a well lit area. Unless your setup is under direct sunlight, I don’t see how you’d need it to be any brighter. Also, the Corsair software is very easy to use after messing with it for a few minutes, and I think that’s the best feature of the keyboard. It really lets you do almost anything you could want with the keys. If you’re gaming, you can light up just the keys you use. Or you can have type lighting that fades from one color to another for each keystroke - it really does go in depth. It’s a bit pricey, but I must say I have no regrets with it. It’s going to last plenty long, it’s got all the rgb you could want and all the settings you could use for them. The multimedia keys are great (especially the volume roller if you’re not using headphones). If you’re on the fence because of the price or because you’re looking for the best value, I’d say just go for it. It’s just really nice to have!
Are you still filming everything on your iPhone? Absolutely incredible! I’ve been doing everything with an iPhone recently too! What’s your background for such cinematic and storytelling shots? Did you take any courses before you started? Been here since the pre blow up! Still solid as ever! Love it!

Swap those keys out for some Hyper X pudding keys. Really show off the RGB a lot better. Do need some modding onnancouple of keys as they Hyper X ones don't fit, but well worth it!
nice looking keyboard. it is very noisy for gaming to be honest and for typing when we have to transcripts for calls, meetings and work-related things. would have like to see a wireless version instead of having the cable clutter the desk
If you're a typist I wouldn't get a gaming keyboard, unless you're just in love with this RGB style, there are Akko and other brands that aren't as "loud" in their appearance. But if you do like the RGB, you can always pull the caps off, remove switches, and then lube the switches, install better stabilizers (factory defaults are usually poor), and switch film. But, the main factor is switch type. If you want silent, go with a linear switch type and be sure to self lube the switches and the stabilizers.
I've had this keyboard for 3 weeks. Overall, it's OK but I'm not terribly excited about it for the following reasons: 1. The backlighting is sloppy. It spills out under and around each key. My 10 year old Azio doesn't do that. 2. The base of the switches are white. Had they been black, like the rest of the keyboard, the entire effect would have been much more elegant. As it is, the white switch bases cheapen the whole look. 3. The connecting cable is thin and stiff. It looks and feels really cheap. I bought this because I found it deeply discounted. Anything more than $100 and I would definitely pass on this one.
I was lucky enough to be able to get a decent Gaming PC last year at RRP, and got the PS5 on preorder on day one. I also got a Switch for the little one, but I'm looking forward to play BOTW as I have heard so much about that.
I've been very, very lucky in the last 2 years with gaming stuff. With the chip shortage going on, I was even able to sell my almost 10 year old PC with a GTX 970 for a crazy amount to get most of the money back for the PC upgrade! Gamepass Ultimate on PC is awesome...just wish I had more time to play now; too many games, such little time.
I used to be a PC fanboy but not anymore. I much prefer consoles for many reasons. Consoles also don't have the cheaters like PC does I still have my PC, a customizable keyboard is nothing new, they have been out for years.

I have a PS5 and an gaming PC that's top of the line and pretty darn expensive it's truly a lovely beautiful build and don't get me wrong I LOVE my PS5 but I actually bought one of those after being an Xbox console user for a very long time and I got tired of using a controller it didn't feel as *professional" in terms of gaming since controller is way too easy for me and the way i like to play and with competitions the keyboard is more of a challenge and a bit more fun tbh PC seems to be the wave for me Fun too! Back in the day i used to be a mostly console user for COD and first person shooters nowadays it's the other way around, probably because I mastered controllers. It might depend on your preference too.
I'm the same way, only I game on Xbox. I used to be a die hard PC fanboy too. Never again. Controllers are also so much nicer than contorting your fingers on a keyboard. You also instantly boot directly up to your games, no stupid drivers or compatibility issues. Both your PS5 and the Series X are also faster than most PC for a MUCH lower price.

I got the tkl version of the keyboard. I've tried the silver's and the red and they both sound hollow and clacky. Red switches we're not quite as bad.

I was lucky enough to be able to get a decent Gaming PC last year at RRP, and got the PS5 on preorder on day one.
I also got a Switch for the little one, but I'm looking forward to play BOTW as I have heard so much about that.

I've been very, very lucky in the last 2 years with gaming stuff. With the chip shortage going on, I was even able to sell my almost 10 year old PC with a GTX 970 for a crazy amount to get most of the money back for the PC upgrade!
Gamepass Ultimate on PC is awesome...just wish I had more time to play now; too many games, such little time.

2022 KEYBOARD
I used to be a PC fanboy but not anymore. I much prefer consoles for many reasons. Consoles also don't have the cheaters like PC does I still have my PC, a customizable keyboard is nothing new, they have been out for years.

Weird! I have a PS5 and an gaming PC that's top of the line and pretty darn expensive it's truly a lovely beautiful build and don't get me wrong I LOVE my PS5 but I actually bought one of those after being an Xbox console user for a very long time and I got tired of using a controller it didn't feel as *professional" in terms of gaming since controller is way too easy for me and the way i like to play and with competitions the keyboard is more of a challenge and a bit more fun tbh PC seems to be the wave for me Fun too! Back in the day i used to be a mostly console user for COD and first person shooters nowadays it's the other way around, probably because I mastered controllers. It might depend on your preference too.
I'm the same way, only I game on Xbox. I used to be a die hard PC fanboy too. Never again. Controllers are also so much nicer than contorting your fingers on a keyboard. You also instantly boot directly up to your games, no stupid drivers or compatibility issues. Both your PS5 and the Series X are also faster than most PC for a MUCH lower price.
PC is also FULL of cheaters in every game.

These switches aren’t great lol. Typing on JWK Lavenders or C3 Tangerines will change your life.
So still no wireless RGB keyboard.
