    You would like their album Koloss. It's got the same level of accessibility.

    Meshuggah is my favorite band and I really get the industrial/techno comparison coming from an industrial background. My fave song by them is Swarm from the Koloss album and it is build up like this, being really repetitive but groovy and adding layer by layer with some subtle changes.

    Btw.: I really enjoyed your Obzen reaction with the lyrics analysis. Meshuggah really has one of the greatest and deepest lyrics out there I guess and as a non native English speaker I love being educated by people like you. Thanks and keep it up!

    I have high hopes for this album! I've been listening to Nothing, Koloss, The Violent Sleep of Reason, and Catch 33 on repeat everyday at work the past month; it's fantastic flow-state inducing music. Can't wait for the rest of this new album

      So far obzen and kolossos under my belt and liked em both. Catch 33 is still a hard sell lol

    i think you’ll like their Nothing album alot. maybe even as much as Obzen. it think its their best album on a tie with Obzen, just not quite as streamlined and polished, but its probably their most groovy album. make sure you review the original 7 string version with clear vocals first though, not the remastered 8 string version!

    I heard in a resent interview with Tomas that The Abysmal Eye makes more sense after you hear the song that comes before it. I’m sooo excited for the new album! 🤘🏻
    I’m a massive Meshuggah fan, discovered them back in ‘95. Definitely do more album reviews. You have a few more to go! 😉 Can’t really suggest which one you should do next since I love all their albums but their second album Destroy Erase Improve is the one that started it all for me.

      @@Egoblivion I just listened again, like the drums better, but not enough melody for me. I prefer Abysmal Eye

    • @Egoblivion
      @Egoblivion 2 роки тому

      @@fredbarnes2600 I'm sure that "all will be revealed" in the context of the full album. "Not enough melody" does seem to be the main complaint for people who aren't liking Meshuggah's stuff from the past few albums. For me though, everything they do is gold. The grooves are longer and so they've only added to the rhythmic complexity as they go but the melody gets more subtle, which is what they want...for even a half-step difference to be felt in a groovily meaningful way.
      That said, there could be some relatively melodic songs on the new one. There's even a full-on instrumental...so what the heck is that gonna be like!? So stoked!

    First of all it would be nice if you made a reaction to full Chaosphere album, it's just raw as hell, and in my opinion Jens performs the best out there, it's like rapping to a heavy music in background and it sounds better than you would think. If in your opinion full album reaction is too much just don't mind the lyrics at first reaction and check it out later maybe.
    And second of all, It's not a trend for Meshuggah to do more accesible albums, because their last one (The Violent Sleep Of Reason) was mostly not accesible for someone not into their music and they recorded it live which adds a lot of raw energy to it and is crazy for me, because it's really fucking technical. But with that being said, Immutable will probably be more accesible based on what the Meshuggah guitarist Marten Hagstrom said in one of the interviews lately.

      @@BaldHeadedMETAL Anyway it would be interesting to see how you like it. The whole album is insane and it's hard to choose one single to react to but definitely New Millenium Cyanide Christ, Corridor of Chameleons or Sane are the main picks from me. Thanks for answering, stay true and listen to Meshuggah.

    I think it's got very little to do with the water in the countries ;P If I had to guess (I'm Swedish) it's because we have good social safety nets so people can devote time to interest such as music, and there's not as much stigma towards metal here, probably because people are not very religious.
