Very well done. Brought back a lot of memories. Have owned a IIA 109inch Safari Wagon, a IIA 88inch hardtop, a III 88inch Safari and a 2 door Range Rover, as well as a few unworthy Japanese things. But it is the Landies that I miss the most.
Dude, this is a beautiful film. At first I was a bit worried about accuracy of the Landy description of a 60 year old S2 when it looked like a late 2A but the individual wiper motors suggest that the wing headlights are a modification. Great cinematography!
Cheers! Yes she’s a storied truck, started life as an Air Force wagon and has even had a holden engine… swapped back to the original at some stage. I have the original radiator panel so it can be converted back to the right front… one day.
So tastefully done, absolutely love the color grading. Honestly, the work you guys do is so dreamy and inspiring. I hope you find the time to make more of these 🤞
This was fun. Series Land Rovers are scarce here in the US, and especially here in California. When ever I see one , I usually bend my neck trying to get a better look. Thanks for the adventure. 👌
You are welcome! They are hard to tear your eyes off, I always say if you don't hurt your neck looking back at your rig as you walk away, you need a different rig 😂
Very nice filming, incredible scenery, good choice of music, and a lovely Landy. Weird combination of vehicles, but cleverly edited most of them out, wohoooo. The part with the Siia and Disco the best 😊.. Next time, introduce your lovely partner as well, as it will increase the "likes" and comments as well... She is as soft on the eye as the Landy.... Looking forward to more, thank you. Regards, from Hermanus, the Land Rover Capitol of South Africa.... 🇿🇦
Wow awesome footage, got the same landy in the shed 109 same colour as well, lovely trip and footage, bet all that weight on top makes her roll a bit mine did with roof rack,.more please Aidan in Ireland 🇮🇪,
Awesome, I remember walking past your camp as you guys were packing up. I was walking out of the harper valley while on the Te Araroa trail! great vlog
Love this LR Series 2 Cargo style, movie, and the adventure. I have the same type of Landy and experienced in some short trip. Your video is inspiring us (my Landy & myself). Thank you.
Well done Love NZ as and English golf pro I played there many years ago and when peeps asked me my favorite place on earth I say “Oh that’s too easy - NZ all the way” keep doing vlogs you clearly get it!
Awesome set up dude. I have a series 2a I restoring now with a very similar spec. Love to join on a trip once it's done, they'd look fantastic together
Just came across your channel while surfing the net on nightshift, absolutely enjoyed the trip with you, I want to see more, so I have subscribed, loved watchig the Landrover, best regards from a ex ChCh lad now living in Melbourne, best regards to you all. 👍👍👍👍
Yes, we are planning to share this after a few more vlogs. At the moment I'm using a Mavic Air 2s Drone, a Gopro 11 and Sony a7siii. You may have also noticed the iphone made an appearance but that was a bit lazy of me!
@@foldinthemap Honestly this vid is so insanely beautifully shot man! And yes, we certainly will! haha. Keep your eyes peeled for an old series to buy for us hahah
Beautiful video and Landy. Would like a bit more time with the sound of the engines, rattles etc. What engine have you got in the 109? I've got the 2.25 petrol in mine. Thanks. Subbed.
Yea 2.25 petrol, good old donkey engine. Couldn't agree more haha, the next video will have more rattles, wine of the gearbox etc. Still learning how to capture everything on the go to a high enough quality. Cheers for subscribing!
Thank you! So we camped at Basin creek the first night which is most of the way up the Avoca valley, the second night we camped at the junction between the Harper and Avoca valleys, here in Canterbury New Zealand :)
Hey mate, great video. As a fellow youtuber, I know how much work goes into making each video, definitely keep it up because you are doing a great job, and sooner or later, they'll pick up viewers
Yes there are tracks up the mountains in some area's however a lot of teh 4x4 access in New Zealand sticks to the valleys and to get onto the tops you must walk.
She does have electronic vs points. Its the carburettor that's been installed that makes cold starts... interesting. But its dual throat and goes harder than the zenith so I'm gunna live with it. It always starts eventurally haha. Cheers for the suggestion.
Hey mate, not everywhere but their are lots of places you can especially with an off-road vehicle. If you rent a defender with a roof tent the company will give you a guide to spots you can park up with epic views! Hope that helps! Cheers for watching 🙏🏼
Nice work. Your series is a beautifully photographic rig, especially in that colour. 👌 I think you will find 5th time is a charm when you try to start it There’s a reason I use the same start shot in all my videos. Can’t have the Landrover and the camera both with flat batteries 🤣
My series ii 1960 2,25 is much tougher to hand crank than my 101 FCV8.. Best way to start them, especially in a crowded parking lot... You swing the starter once, twice, getting all the attention from the japcrap owners, get out very casually, ignoring all the onlookers, pushing your hand crank through the little hole in the bumper, small turn till it's locked, and one easy fluent pull and they purrrrr like little kittens..... My favourite party trick. Love my Landies...🇿🇦
Theres only 2 places in all the south island for pies... SANGAS in cromwell or fat bastards in Invercargill....and just maybe the fairlie bakery. But i got a cold pie last time i was there. Indian bloke running the show i seen.
That's a very long winded way of saying you hate the sound of my voice, I have to say though mate, on that we can agree, I also hate the sound of my voice, but unfortunately that's the one I've got.
Really really enjoyed your film. Very nicely shot. Reminds me very much of a motorcycle film made more than 10 years ago (jeepers I'm getting old) featuring Blitz Motorcycle guys. Your vibe in this film and the Blitz motorcycle one are similar in many ways but the Blitz one is technically an advert for Edwin Jeans. ua-cam.com/video/4M42LJpUcxM/v-deo.htmlsi=azvIVs59-8WWj5H4 ..... Nice work!
The color filter is what’s is hurting your channel; unfortunately. 😢 looks like an instagram filter .I liked and subscribed to support you through your self discovery.
Might be the kiwi accent… monotone at best. Keep watching as I get more and more excited… or perhaps loose the will to live due to periodic maintenance.
Love the whole movie. Nicely done and so breath taking to see the lands over the land.
Cheers! Thanks for watching

Man, you've had some iconic rigs. Haha a few unworthy Japanese things, well put.
It always amazes me to see old series land rover on a scenic drive like this...awesome story, journey, and nature all in one video..❤
Thanks so much!

Thank you from New Zealand!

Great filming and great to see a lovely Series Land Rover in such beautiful scenery. New Zealand looks stunning!

Amazing land scape!
Isn’t it just!
You got me at "expendable gear boxes" Ha! Nice work! Luv ur Landey!
Cheers! Haha yea, the gear box in the Landy is not a disposable type like the Nissans have 😂
Nice Video thank you . Greetz from Europ 😊

What a dreamy voiceover

Can you guys do a video on your gear and video tips? This video looks incredible.
I'm looking for a decent setup for my trip this summer

Thank you for making and sharing this great video of your amazing adventure. Good to see the series in its natural environment.
Thank you for watching it! Absolutely in love with how the landy fits into the wilderness and trucks on through it with ease.
I like your Landy, I have two. one is long and the other is short. i like in your video at the beginning you have that morning voice haha
Cheers! Nice, would love a short wheelbase. Haha yea but croaky eh!
Okay now we're fully convinced we need to get over to NZ...such an epic video! Can't wait for more :)
Come over for a mission! Would be psyched to show you guys around our neck of the woods. Cheers for the encouragement legends!

Be right back...gonna move to NZ so I can do stuff like this every weekend
We are pretty damn lucky thats for sure!
Nice vlog bro
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Is there tracks in the hills/mountains you can drive in or is it all flat river beds
Yes there are tracks up the mountains in some area's however a lot of teh 4x4 access in New Zealand sticks to the valleys and to get onto the tops you must walk.
If you are having trouble starting the land rover try putting electronic engion on .
Sorry I spelt ignition wrong
She does have electronic vs points. Its the carburettor that's been installed that makes cold starts... interesting. But its dual throat and goes harder than the zenith so I'm gunna live with it. It always starts eventurally haha. Cheers for the suggestion.
