This concert was at Trinity Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. The day after the bombing, we invited First Methodist to share our building which they did until their facility was rebuilt. Things were sometimes chaotic and there were a few hiccups from time to time, but it was one of most memorable experiences of my life. As a member of the Trinity staff at that time I often thought, this is what heaven is going to be like; no Baptists, no Methodists, just Christians, praising the Savior together. By the way, this was such a well kept secret, that we didn’t even know about it until after the fact.
That’s amazing! He was truly one of a kind! I wish I’d been into Christian music at that time. I felt that the Ragamuffin movie didn’t do him justice. I see so many videos of him now and he really had an understanding of how imperfect we all are yet Jesus still died for us all. I think the broken strings on his guitar are fitting for his personal. Thank you for posting these great videos!
As a teen in the early 70's, enjoyed friendship with Richard and serving with him in an interdenominational choir, New Creations. He played at my wedding in '73. He came through Colorado years later and we shared a meal and caught up on each other's lives. Such talent. His music lives on.
So much love and respect for a great man of God. Many days and nights my wife would just praise God with Rich. To this day I listen to his music every single day remembering the time with my wife. God Bless you Rich
Rich and Michael Card carried me through my highschool years in the early 90s. Im not sure why the Lord took him when he did but Im looking forward to worshipping 😊with him again.

Rich Mullins and Keith Green were a very pivotal part of my early years as a new believer. They where truly sold out to the Lord and the Gospel. Timeless music.
Same for me. When I read (for the first time!) An Arrow Pointing Toward Heaven - biography of Rich’s life - I remember thinking “THIS is a follower of Jesus I want to be more like.”
My first Christian Concert was at Walter Johnson high school in Montgomery county MD the musicians were Mylon LeFevre and 💔 Broken Heart, Randy Stonehill and Michelle Pillar. In 1992 or 1993 I saw Rich Mullins at Still Meadow Church off Fredrick Road in Catonsville, MD.One thing that stood out was Rich demonstrating to the audience was tapping your hands on your jeans and snapping your hands and everyone doing it a once sounded like rain hitting a roof. That was incredible as well as his songs music and playing the hammer dulcimer.
Rich Mullins was one of the first concerts I attended after being saved as a teenager. My first was Michael Card. I loved them both. Brings back deep, deep memories. Thank you!
I've been born again for 34 years, in the early days I loved Rich, but he's still ministers to me when nobody else can, we all have our tough situations to get through in this life, only Rich's music touches my heart & soul in such a special way, when I'm overwhelmed, & when I'm not I settle in and listen, hope to be home soon like you Rich❤️🙌🏼📖🙏🏼🎶🎵🎶
I have to agree with you Karen. Maybe it's the interaction I had with this day in 1995, but when I listen to Rich's music still today it's like we are on our journey with the Lord together with Rich and not that he is telling us anything. We were simply along for the ride with him.
I so get it. God has used Rich's music to lead me through some really dark fights with depression.,especially after the loss of a sister in a car accident in 1995. I was numb and so confused, even pre-suicidal, I did not trust that Grace applied to me but I could hear something I identified with in Rich,it was like a life raft til I could pray again. I was trying to get tickets to see him in Cincinnati when I heard he was gone,

That Where I am, There You. 23 years ago I had a heart attack, asked the ambulance driver to put on my Christian station. That Where I am, There you came across the radio. I had immediate peace when the lyrics: In my Father's house there are many, many rooms In my Father's house there are many, many rooms And I'm going up there now to prepare a place for you That where I am, there you may also be. I knew without a doubt that no matter what happened that night (just before 1AM)that I would be OK! The nurse that was traveling with me told me that for a man who just had a serious heart attack I didn’t seem to worried” I asked her “what’s the worst that could happen “ she told me “you could very easily die tonight “ I replied to her “if that’s what happens, I’m ready” About a month later she sat down right in front of me at church, I tapped her on the shoulder and asked “do you remember me?” To this day still wondering if God brought her to Church for her or for me. I’ve been telling people about Jesus every day.
What a story!! Glory to God for blessing Rich so much with those lyrics and melodies. I'm curious about your story, when you asked the nurse if she remembered about you, what did she said? God bless you and your evangelism!
Thank you for the video. I was searching "Hold Me, Jesus" and saw this video. I first heard of him as a new Christian. I remember going to the Cosmosphere in Huchinson, KS just few weeks after his tragic death to watch a show with his music and a light show. It was awesome! I wanted to clarify this answer here. Rich was accompanied by Beaker in this video. Beaker's real name is David Strasser. I can see how he could get mixed up with Mitch McVicker as they look very similar, especially from so many years ago.

The nurse that was traveling with me told me that for a man who just had a serious heart attack I didn’t seem to worried” I asked her “what’s the worst that could happen “ she told me “you could very easily die tonight “ I replied to her “if that’s what happens, I’m ready”
About a month later she sat down right in front of me at church, I tapped her on the shoulder and asked “do you remember me?”
To this day still wondering if God brought her to Church for her or for me. I’ve been telling people about Jesus every day.
What a story!! Glory to God for blessing Rich so much with those lyrics and melodies.
I'm curious about your story, when you asked the nurse if she remembered about you, what did she said?
God bless you and your evangelism!
A truly amazing story! Along with P.B. below, I am curious what the nurse said to you that day? Thank you for sharing!
He was a treasure for sure❤️
This looking more like entertainment than a blessing.
Thank you for the video. I was searching "Hold Me, Jesus" and saw this video. I first heard of him as a new Christian. I remember going to the Cosmosphere in Huchinson, KS just few weeks after his tragic death to watch a show with his music and a light show. It was awesome! I am planning to have "Home" played at my funeral because that is where I am going and will see Jesus and Rich someday. Again, thank you for the memories!
Way Awesome
What a Gem of a find to thank you for sharing this.
pray for us rich - we sure have lost our ways - miss you
Got to know Rich as a student at Friends University. This video is a month after he graduated.
Wow David! Very interesting. I had no idea. This is the type of interesting facts I hoped people would be able to post here. Thank You!
Can't wait to get to Heaven and see him again 🌹
Is that a very young Pastor Craig Groeschel introducing Rich? Oops! I just saw the caption!

❤
I remember Oklahoma City but never lived there.
Two things... The guy on the right... David Crowder in the early stages of his beard, right? 🤣 Second... Does the guy on the right have the first pair of Crocs ever invented? 😂
What song was it he sang about blooming where you are planted that he wrote in Ireland?
The song that he and Beaker wrote in Ireland was "Land of My Sojourn."
What software was used for the special effects in this video?
Is that Mitch McVicker with him?
He does look different, but yes it is.
I wanted to clarify this answer here. Rich was accompanied by Beaker in this video. Beaker's real name is David Strasser. I can see how he could get mixed up with Mitch McVicker as they look very similar, especially from so many years ago.
You know I remember Rich but in Oklahoma City?
I follow that link and don't see a #100 episode. I see episodes number up to 11.
Thanks for asking. This video was earlier premiered last week so we have not yet published episode 100 to the podcast. It should be coming no later than April 19th. We will post back here once it is live. Thanks!
Wanted to follow up here. The 100th Episode of our Podcast where we feature the story of this day has been published. So you should be able to get it wherever you get your podcasts. Or go to RelationalGracePocast.com and listen if you are not super big on Podcasts. I hope you all love our story!
