I’m 74 and Keith Green was the first Christian music album I bought when I first knew Jesus in 1982. I woke up today with this song in my head. I want Jesus to make my life a prayer to Him.
I was born 2003 and i grew with his music. the up the only music me and my 6 siblings had access to was a few cd's my brother made. These songs were played a million timer over again in the van. the songs in the cds were by keith green, steve green, michael card, wendy&mary, Ichthus, and...Christ Our Life. I'm 19 now, & These days I listen to everything from alan walker to Danny Gokey. But I still love all those old songs & will never forget them. I think they r so underrated & need to be rediscovered & need to be played on stations everywhere. The power in the catchy, powerful melodies, the lyrics,the instruments & the distinct vocals is beyond anything out 2day. steve green is almost as epic as Kieth green. Steve Green is still around & playing and i got to meet him. He was amazing. Those 2 are THE BEST!
In his unfortunately short years, I think Keith Greene reached more people with the message of Truth than anyone. I look forward you meeting him someday 🙏🏻

I saw Keith Green in Concert at Knotts Berry Farm in 1979. When he spoke between songs it was like hearing an Old Testament prophet. He spoke the truth in love, but did not compromise when he shared the gospel. His songs had a profound influence on my spiritual formation, and even though I am now 64 years old and have not wavered from the faith, I still am encouraged and challenged when I hear his songs.
Im 34 years old and I ran from Jesus for years. I accepted Jesus and fell away immediately, Ive searched all the other religions and believed the bible was a lie, buying into the new age agenda. Jesus kept coming for me and I kept running from him, it wasn't until I came to the edge of myself in a room full of idols that I saw how filthy and self righteous I was that I realized I needed a savior, and that Jesus was who he said he was that I finally came to him in full surrender. I knew some of the word, but hypocritical Christians, false doctrines and my own sin stood in the way. I love Jesus Christ for what he did for me. He never stopped trying to bring me to the saving knowledge of his sacrifice. Praise be to God in the highest!
Same here sister in Christ!!! I was looking for him everywhere and in love with God but so lost and couldn’t find my way home. He used my sin to reveal himself to me. Now I know how lost I was. And I have both peace and deep fear as I know how spiritually weak I am. How amazing Jesus is. He is the door. Your story is so similar to mine x he also healed me whilst I was on a path of destruction and I thought I had done it and started calling myself a with or an adept 🤮 my sin got chaotic and crazy despite this holy experience and I nearly died in two crashes where I was totally unharmed …. I accepted him intellectually but kept sinning and sinning until I was in real danger despite being technically in perfect safety. Because I could t just stop. Until I turned my will to Jesus. I’m so cosy and happy now… and scared a bit lol I hope I continue to grow in the lord and never turn away again. He is rest for my weary soul which I thought I had lost to be honest
See brother, he marked you right then and there when you accepted him the first time. He never forgot you while you wandered in the wilderness. He just needed to bring you to a place where you surrendered your life and will to His once and for all. Now your washed in His precious blood ! Washed whiter than snow ! Praise His holy name forever, the angels rejoice because of it!!
Keith was my neighbor. The plane was overloaded. Irresponsible pilot. Keith tried to get his wife Melody to get on the plane but she was not interested. I sat next to Keith for 6 weeks of discipleship training. Very cool man. I was blessed to know him. He was the real deal. I wept when I heard the news. It was devastating.

My husband was mentioned in the book Melody wrote but she forgot his name and called him Tim. He came to Seattle several times as a teenager to see my future husband (who was about 5 yrs older than Keith). You would enjoy my husband's original songs too.

Keith’s music was far from the best music produced. Terry Talbot was a better musician and writer. Second Chapter of Acts was better music. Honey tree was beautiful music. Lamb was incredible. People were attracted to Keith’s music not because the actual music was great, but because he was actually a preacher preaching the good news through music and it was the power of the Holy Spirit they were experiencing.
I remember that day his plane crashed. We listen to his songs all the time, and his ministry lives on forever. Yes, he is filled with the Holy Spirit, and is in heaven, with Jesus our Lord.🙏

He is one of the most precious ministers through music to have ever existed. Find his album “No Compromise” (they are all anointed. He lived and loved Jesus. There are many Christian artists I appreciate. But Keith is the only one in m my life where every single song of his at one point hade me weeping in the Presence of God.) I first heard his music in 1981… and God used his songs to teach and transform me. God bless you! (For Him Who Has Ears To Hear & No Compromise are my favorite albums.)

Cried so hard at the announcement of his death. Never met him or even attended one his concerts, but his songs and message were examples of a true Christian. I’m excited about meeting my true family in glory and our Lord Jesus. Press on brothers and sisters in Christ. This life and earth is passing away.
We got saved in 1983 from a hippie past as singer and musician...and this man's life and songs really blessed us and helped us in our early years we started a bi lingual church in Mallorca Spain and we thk the Lord for his life and his wife's hopefully we will meet him and his children one day in eternity, thx to his song we never went back to Egypt and God' s grace...it was a blessing to see thing...and Lord you are beautiful thkU...we LOVE and fear You...
I was born again in June of 1982, and Keith Greene was instrumental in my growth in my early years. Charles Stanley & David Jeremiah were big helps also. The biggest help was the Holy Spirit
All of my Keith Green cassettes were stolen from my house many years ago. It was so heartbreaking until I realized that the thieves needed them more than I did. May God still be working in their hearts.

My husband and I so appreciated Keith's songs in the 70s. I still remember the day when his plane crashed....I had twin babies at the time and just held them with tears flowing down my face. Several years later when we were on a road trip from Ohio we went to Texas and visited his home....saw his piano....thanked the LORD for his life!🔥 What a blessing!🔥 Today, the tears flowed again as i was listening to his song....worshiping JESUS....and making his timeless words my prayer....100 percent for Jesus, for "It's so hard to see when my eyes are on me!"
I remeber attending a concert in 1979 in Clifton New Jersey the year I got saved - then I remember a concert at NortheasternBible college while Keith played a second concert for free because the first concert was sold out. I had an unsaved friend there with me who was so impressed by Keith’s sincerity he later gave his heart to Jesus…thank you Keith - all glory to Jesus!!!
I never knew of Keith Green until today. Today, 40 years after his untimely passing, I’m sad I never knew about him sooner. He gave back so much in his short life. God certainly had a hand in choosing this video for me today when I need it most. Thank you ❤
I heard him at Jesus northwest with my husband and children and was so impressed with his love for Jesus most of all and his musical talent that I wept when his plan went down. My whole family then was excited about his love of his Savior. Thank you Lord for speaking to Keith Green at his young age!

Its really sad to know he passed away like 4 yrs after this video☹ but what an awesome testimony & yes i agree its one i think all of us need to hear no matter how close in our faith to God we are, we still all have hard times in this life & i really needed this today❤
I was a teenager in the 70s and remember listening to and being amazed by Keith Green, one of my favorite Christian artists. This just appeared in my feed today ....I love that years after no such technology existed, I can relive this beautiful song and testimony. I can now share with my own children.

God helped me through a terribly dark time in my life by Keith's music. I was in the Coast Guard, terribly naiive, and utterly lost. All the glory to God for saving me out of my anguish and desolation.
I am 69 and have been a believer since I was 17 years old! I got to see Keith in concert when he started to do them for free! There were so many people waiting to get in he decided to do two concerts that same night! We didn't untill 10 pm! Some had to stand! He called them up on the stage to listen! Two lucky guys got to sit on the piano bench with him! The Lord knew it was time to bring Keith home in his early 30s ! His wife Melanie even admitted that that's where her husband needed to be! Love you!
It was a very preventable accident. Sometimes people make errors in judgement and we suffer the consequences. The pilot should never have let so many people on the plane. It was extremely over loaded. Very sad.
In a life of too many separations, & divisions, it is not the what,nor how's that unite us, but the WHO, the PERSON of Christ, no politics,nor agendas, as we see the darkness of the world, we ought to realize that GOD alone, in Jesus... The face of God, the perfect nature of HIM, this is what truly unites..... We used to hug the gays, and help the ladies who had abortions, no room for judgement, open arms, not the 2nd amendment that heals.... peace from the throne.... coming down as dew from heaven.....

I'll never forget my daughter getting off the phone and saying, "Keith Green died in a plane crash." The whole Christian world was stunned. His children were with him and died too. He sure left a glorious legacy, still being heard even today. Again, thanks so much for posting this.
for me, it was somewhere around 2010 when I had stumbled onto some of Keith's songs: I may have been looking for Steve Green. But when I found Keiths songs I just listened and for a few days I listened and listened, until I slowly realized that there were no new ones. And finally, I realized that God had taken Keith and his children and I just could not understand and I think I began to lose Heart at that point. So much of modern CHristian music is merely brainwashing chants with no style or grace. But Keith brought such Grace by which we stand.... Prior to that time, I thought I knew God, but afterward, I realized that I simply do not understand God and why he has allowed things like that to happen.
That was me. I signed up to work at a Keith Green crusade in Binghamton NY. His music saw me through some difficult times, carried me, discipled me, challenged me to draw closer to Jesus. I was heartbroken to hear of his death. I felt cheated out my being able to meet him in person and tell him what a great influence he was in my young life. Forty-one years later my I still sing his songs and hear his preaching. I now pastor a house of prayer.

We had this song sung at our wedding…with the hope of it being an anthem in our marriage, and also a call to the not-yet Jesus followers at our wedding :-). It is my all time favorite song. Keith Green holds a special spot in my heart.
I saw Keith at Disneyland's Night of Joy in 1977. I went to Melodyland School of Theology. He was at a white piano and we all just crowded around to listen. God used him that night and since then I have been playing music to Him like Keith did.
My son was at med College of GA & called me crying, I couldn't even understand him, he was telling me Keith had just died with some of his kids in a small airplane crash. I started crying & that's how that call went & we started talking about how much he'd be missed. We comforted each other & prayed.
My husband and I were there too (it was our first date before we were married)! I had been saved at a Keith Green concert at our church, Calvary Chapel in North Park, San Diego, and I was so excited to see Keith at Disneyland. He sang a song and everyone was clapping along and happy, then he said, "Okay, now we've ministered to your soul, let's minister to your spirit." He got serious and kept singing and everyone was quiet and the Lord just blessed us all.
This is beautiful. There are signs everywhere of his return. It's eminent. For those who are watching this and don't have a relationship with the Lord please spend just a few moments looking into his grace and truth. This is more to this life than just living and dying. Fill your heart with the spirit✝️

Over 45 years ago Keith's music came into my life and was so much a part of my life. I think I know the words to every single one of his songs.i was just a kid, I'm 61 now. I loved this blessed brother.Cant wait to meet him in Heaven. I was so sad when he and his children lost their lives in that plane crash. His wife and baby child were not aboard that flight. 😢 But, even after he was gone, his music still ministers to our hearts in 2024. Thank you Father for this wonderful brother who helped " raise" me up to live my whole life for Christ Jesus ❤
I am 64 and Keith Green's music was the very first contemporary Christian music that I discovered back in 1980. I was introduced to his music by a college friend. I was hooked! I was so sad when he died. A life taken too soon.

Keith gave up a rock star type career to concentrate on the Jesus Music and strengthened the faith of so many in those revolutionary days when the hippy morals were bombarding new believers! He and Melody are big in my Blessing Book!
I am elderly but we followed Keith Green and Last Days ministry for decades! Heard of his tragic death and two young children on that July day 1982. The Lord has Blessed Keith's ministry a million times over. Still love the passion and love his worship gives.❤
There was no one like Keith Green who could play the piano and sing at the same time with such dynamism and power. His faith was alive, stirring, contagious. I have read his biography, how wonderful are God's ways, but why he had to die so early, only he knows. His songs have been with me for 30 years, his lyrics are in my heart, some songs I can play myself, but his virtuosity is close to that of a classical pianist.
Keith has been my favorite since 1981 to this day. I took the opportunity to visit his grave in late December 2023. It was a remarkable time to share my thoughts and gratitude for this faith hero there that day. A beautiful moment in time. I look forward to sharing it again with Keith in heaven someday.
Just lost my uncle Allen, a saint and a lover of Jesus Christ. His life was truly a prayer to his our Lord. The way he lived and always pointed my family to the truth.

My parents used to get his albums for free when they were first married. I was raised in church but strayed as I left home. My sister played Asleep in the Light for me one night and gave me Melody’s book No Compromise…. I never looked back. I can’t wait to meet Keith soon

63 here... and yes they do! I regularly post Keith's vids on my FB page and on a very large forum called Christian Forums - thousands of posters from around the world of all ages. Keith never fails to get positive responses. I post him along with other anointed performers from our era. And yes, sigh, I listen to some of their current ones to be polite, ha!

Makes me think of Rich Mullins. I just recently discovered Keith Green and his life lived, though short, parallels in some ways to Rich. Rich too was taken to be with the Lord in an accident. I was fortunate enough to have seen Keith in concert in Southern California in 1982 just a couple months before he died. My older brother and sister in-law took me to see him, I was only 16 and not a Christian but that was a beautiful show. I didn't become born again until 10yrs later, after I was married and had a family.

I got to see Keith Green sing and play in Southern California unexpectedly (and for free)-either at Disneyland or Knotts Berry Farm. Didn’t know who he was. Wow!! A christian singer who can articulate doctrine and theology and stand by the truth of scripture as it was preached by Jesus Himself ! Amazing! Jesus is the ONLY way and there is no other way to God! Try declaring that clearly and boldly at the next Grammy awards show or even at the dove awards !
I grew up close to Tyler Texas, Not far from where he based his Ministry in Lindale. Had a couple of occasions to attend his concerts. I bought all the records I could get my hands on. When his plane crashed I had only been a Christian for a few years, His music spoke to my soul and the abundance of scripture in his lyrics helped establish a firm understanding of the Gospel. Close to 40 years later his music just soothes my soul in one way yet it makes me examine my heart to see if I’m truly living it out.
I was so privileged to see Keith in Seattle of 1980, i believe it was…they had more people show up and offered a 2nd concert…and we waited, it didn’t disappoint and I was so impressed by the love he had for us…what a heart for the Lord and his message is still timeless and used by God…I was so saddened when news came of his death…but God continues to use his music and ministry in a mighty way.

He spoke the truth in love, but did not compromise when he shared the gospel. His songs had a profound influence on my spiritual formation, and even though I am now 64 years old and have not wavered from the faith, I still am encouraged and challenged when I hear his songs.
Im 34 years old and I ran from Jesus for years. I accepted Jesus and fell away immediately, Ive searched all the other religions and believed the bible was a lie, buying into the new age agenda. Jesus kept coming for me and I kept running from him, it wasn't until I came to the edge of myself in a room full of idols that I saw how filthy and self righteous I was that I realized I needed a savior, and that Jesus was who he said he was that I finally came to him in full surrender. I knew some of the word, but hypocritical Christians, false doctrines and my own sin stood in the way. I love Jesus Christ for what he did for me. He never stopped trying to bring me to the saving knowledge of his sacrifice. Praise be to God in the highest!

Same here sister in Christ!!! I was looking for him everywhere and in love with God but so lost and couldn’t find my way home. He used my sin to reveal himself to me. Now I know how lost I was. And I have both peace and deep fear as I know how spiritually weak I am. How amazing Jesus is. He is the door. Your story is so similar to mine x he also healed me whilst I was on a path of destruction and I thought I had done it and started calling myself a with or an adept 🤮 my sin got chaotic and crazy despite this holy experience and I nearly died in two crashes where I was totally unharmed …. I accepted him intellectually but kept sinning and sinning until I was in real danger despite being technically in perfect safety. Because I could t just stop. Until I turned my will to Jesus. I’m so cosy and happy now… and scared a bit lol I hope I continue to grow in the lord and never turn away again. He is rest for my weary soul which I thought I had lost to be honest

Keith was my neighbor. The plane was overloaded. Irresponsible pilot. Keith tried to get his wife Melody to get on the plane but she was not interested. I sat next to Keith for 6 weeks of discipleship training. Very cool man. I was blessed to know him. He was the real deal. I wept when I heard the news. It was devastating.

My husband was mentioned in the book Melody wrote but she forgot his name and called him Tim. He came to Seattle several times as a teenager to see my future husband (who was about 5 yrs older than Keith). You would enjoy my husband's original songs too.

Honey tree was beautiful music. Lamb was incredible. People were attracted to Keith’s music not because the actual music was great, but because he was actually a preacher preaching the good news through music and it was the power of the Holy Spirit they were experiencing.
I remember that day his plane crashed. We listen to his songs all the time, and his ministry lives on forever. Yes, he is filled with the Holy Spirit, and is in heaven, with Jesus our Lord.🙏

He is one of the most precious ministers through music to have ever existed. Find his album “No Compromise” (they are all anointed. He lived and loved Jesus. There are many Christian artists I appreciate. But Keith is the only one in m my life where every single song of his at one point hade me weeping in the Presence of God.) Cried so hard at the announcement of his death. Never met him or even attended one his concerts, but his songs and message were examples of a true Christian. My husband and I so appreciated Keith's songs in the 70s. I still remember the day when his plane crashed....I had twin babies at the time and just held them with tears flowing down my face. Several years later when we were on a road trip from Ohio we went to Texas and visited his home....saw his piano....thanked the LORD for his life!🔥 What a blessing!🔥
Today, the tears flowed again as i was listening to his song....worshiping JESUS....and making his timeless words my prayer....100 percent for Jesus, for "It's so hard to see when my eyes are on me!"
Just went to the 40th year anniversary of him going to Jesus. It took place in Texas July 2022. His wife was there and it was such an awesome event.
I remeber attending a concert in 1979 in Clifton New Jersey the year I got saved - then I remember a concert at NortheasternBible college while Keith played a second concert for free because the first concert was sold out. I had an unsaved friend there with me who was so impressed by Keith’s sincerity he later gave his heart to Jesus…thank you Keith - all glory to Jesus!!!
I never knew of Keith Green until today. Today, 40 years after his untimely passing, I’m sad I never knew about him sooner. He gave back so much in his short life.
God certainly had a hand in choosing this video for me today when I need it most.

Literally i just discovered this video today & im 42 & been raised in the church my whole life & my mom always worked in the church & honestly i never heard of keith green until today & i was born in the south in 1980. I was a teenager in the 70s and remember listening to and being amazed by Keith Green, one of my favorite Christian artists. God helped me through a terribly dark time in my life by Keith's music. I was in the Coast Guard, terribly naiive, and utterly lost. All the glory to God for saving me out of my anguish and desolation.
I am 69 and have been a believer since I was 17 years old! I got to see Keith in concert when he started to do them for free! There were so many people waiting to get in he decided to do two concerts that same night! We didn't untill 10 pm! Some had to stand! He called them up on the stage to listen! Two lucky guys got to sit on the piano bench with him! The Lord knew it was time to bring Keith home in his early 30s ! His wife Melanie even admitted that that's where her husband needed to be! Love you!

Keith wasn't in his early 30's when he died, he was 28.
It was a very preventable accident. Sometimes people make errors in judgement and we suffer the consequences. The pilot should never have let so many people on the plane. It was extremely over loaded. Very sad.
In a life of too many separations, & divisions, it is not the what,nor how's that unite us, but the WHO, the PERSON of Christ, no politics,nor agendas, as we see the darkness of the world, we ought to realize that GOD alone, in Jesus... The face of God, the perfect nature of HIM, this is what truly unites..... We used to hug the gays, and help the ladies who had abortions, no room for judgement, open arms, not the 2nd amendment that heals.... peace from the throne.... coming down as dew from heaven.....

I'll never forget my daughter getting off the phone and saying, "Keith Green died in a plane crash." The whole Christian world was stunned. His children were with him and died too. How are you doing today?
I think after the last 3 years or so seeing the growing evil in the world, many that were Christians are now going back to their faith.
for me, it was somewhere around 2010 when I had stumbled onto some of Keith's songs: I may have been looking for Steve Green.
But when I found Keiths songs I just listened and for a few days I listened and listened, until I slowly realized that there were no new ones.
And finally, I realized that God had taken Keith and his children and I just could not understand and I think I began to lose Heart at that point.
So much of modern CHristian music is merely brainwashing chants with no style or grace.
But Keith brought such Grace by which we stand....
Prior to that time, I thought I knew God, but afterward, I realized that I simply do not understand God and why he has allowed things like that to happen.
That was me. I signed up to work at a Keith Green crusade in Binghamton NY. His music saw me through some difficult times, carried me, discipled me, challenged me to draw closer to Jesus. I was heartbroken to hear of his death. I felt cheated out my being able to meet him in person and tell him what a great influence he was in my young life. Forty-one years later my I still sing his songs and hear his preaching. I now pastor a house of prayer.
Only one child died. His daughter didn't go that day.

I saw Keith at Disneyland's Night of Joy in 1977. I went to Melodyland School of Theology. He was at a white piano and we all just crowded around to listen. God used him that night and since then I have been playing music to Him like Keith did.
My son was at med College of GA & called me crying, I couldn't even understand him, he was telling me Keith had just died with some of his kids in a small airplane crash.
I started crying & that's how that call went & we started talking about how much he'd be missed. We comforted each other & prayed.
My husband and I were there too (it was our first date before we were married)! I had been saved at a Keith Green concert at our church, Calvary Chapel in North Park, San Diego, and I was so excited to see Keith at Disneyland. He sang a song and everyone was clapping along and happy, then he said, "Okay, now we've ministered to your soul, let's minister to your spirit." He got serious and kept singing and everyone was quiet and the Lord just blessed us all.

I loved this blessed brother.Cant wait to meet him in Heaven. I was so sad when he and his children lost their lives in that plane crash. His wife and baby child were not aboard that flight. 😢 But, even after he was gone, his music still ministers to our hearts in 2024. Keith never fails to get positive responses. I post him along with other anointed performers from our era. And yes, sigh, I listen to some of their current ones to be polite, ha!

I was fortunate enough to have seen Keith in concert in Southern California in 1982 just a couple months before he died. My older brother and sister in-law took me to see him, I was only 16 and not a Christian but that was a beautiful show. I didn't become born again until 10yrs later, after I was married and had a family.

When I think of Keith there is one word that brings me to mind. " Zeal"! Zelousness for the Lord. Also similar is "Passion" for Christ. I miss his life and music. Looking forward to meeting him in eternity.
He has a nice voice. If he only knew that his beard would be fashionable now. The perm not so much. But it wouldn't keep him out of Heaven.

I got to see Keith Green sing and play in Southern California unexpectedly (and for free)-either at Disneyland or Knotts Berry Farm. Didn’t know who he was. It was about mid 70’s while I was in high school and a new Christian of only a few years. He was really awesome-very uplifting. Love his music which I still listen to. His death was such a needless tragedy. Praise the Lord though, he’s in heaven and we will all be together as family in that better place soon! Maranatha! Lord come quickly.

Jesus is the ONLY way and there is no other way to God! Try declaring that clearly and boldly at the next Grammy awards show or even at the dove awards !
I grew up close to Tyler Texas, Not far from where he based his Ministry in Lindale. Had a couple of occasions to attend his concerts. I bought all the records I could get my hands on. When his plane crashed I had only been a Christian for a few years, His music spoke to my soul and the abundance of scripture in his lyrics helped establish a firm understanding of the Gospel. Close to 40 years later his music just soothes my soul in one way yet it makes me examine my heart to see if I’m truly living it out.
He was totally blessed!

I was so privileged to see Keith in Seattle of 1980, i believe it was…they had more people show up and offered a 2nd concert…and we waited, it didn’t disappoint and I was so impressed by the love he had for us…what a heart for the Lord and his message is still timeless and used by God…I was so saddened when news came of his death…but God continues to use his music and ministry in a mighty way.
