4th of July at Kings Dominion (Family Vlog 2023)

After spending a few days at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, we wanted to stop in at Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia on our way home.
It was the 4th of July, so we were expecting big crowds at Kings Dominion - but almost everyone seemed to go straight to the waterpark, leaving the regular amusement park side almost completely empty! (Granted, it was insanely hot and the park kept making announcements about us being under a HEAT ADVISORY and to take precautions.)
We roped dropped Joe Cool's Driving School for the kids (it's a free-range driving ride - think bumper cars, but in a HUGE setting and NO bumping). Our children LOVE this ride and the line can get insanely long, so instead of rope dropping our favorite roller coasters, we rope drop this ride in Planet Snoopy.
One of the main things we wanted to accomplish on this particular visit to Kings Dominion was checking out the newly re-tracked Grizzly. In the past, we've rarely gone over to ride Grizzly because we know that it's notoriously rough, but with the ride being (almost) completely re-tracked, we wanted to check it out!
Since we always skip that section of the park - it would come as no surprise that we forgot that Kings Dominion has go-karts! They are an up-charge attraction, but Leander wanted to ride them SO BAD that Derrick agreed. They had the BEST time and it was completely worth the extra money!
We always love visiting Kings Dominion. I feel like it gets overlooked in the Cedar Fair chain, but it's a beautiful, well-maintained, super fun park and we always have a great time when we visit!
