Between having dad, jim AND having onyx getting into being able to drive equipment the farm is literally at the stage where a guy can really look forward to the upcoming years. Keep it up Zack!
@@martincuracao1 I asked why he had to say it because that's what he said. He said, 'I have to say'. I asked him why he had to say it. What would have happened if he didn't say it? He could have just said his Dad was a kind, gentle man. But instead he prefaced it with, 'I have to say'.
Zach, it's been a difficult year for you guys with the wet planting and the tornado -- we are all hoping that harvest goes better. Thanks for another year of outstanding videos.
Honestly, I just love the respect shown to his dad. Zac "I'll grab the skid loader if you want grab the chain". Dad, " I'll get the skid loader". Zac "Ok". Might seem like a small thing but while Zac is his own man, he respects his Dad. He gets it. Love it.
You and your family are so lucky to have Anna, the way she watches over your children is remarkable. She reminds me of our dog that I miss every day. Your pets tell the world what kind of people you are, and you are a very blessed family.
You know, there are people out there that think farming is easy. They’ve obviously never tried it before! You have to be part mechanic, software engineer, electrician, mechanical engineer, heavy equipment operator, machinist, welder, meteorologist, horticulture expert, systems engineer, logistics coordinator, accountant, and a few other parts that I’m too tired to type! A big THANK YOU to all the farmers out there that keep food on our tables! God bless you and your family!
The dryer setup across the road finally put a muffler on the air handler! Barely could talk outside when it was running! Always learn a lot from your videos!
We just got done with harvest here in southern Alberta. It's weird that some UA-camrs arent even going because usually we're pretty late., But we actually got seeding done at the same time as the neighbors 😅
The sickle blades bring back memories of my youth in Alberta. My cousin always took the old blades and were adapted you might say to cut the bale strings. Kinda like a small hatchet, worked excellent.
15:49 it might sound crazy but a simple tire dolly might avoid a back injury and a hydraulic Tommy Lift tailgate works wonders at lifting tires and other heavy things.
Your dad is the best! He always just seems to be itching to get to work on something or solve a problem. You've got a really great family, Zach! Keep up the awesome videos!
those grates are flush to the ground, so any rain that hits the ground run into the grates. dig around the outside boarder about an inch deep or lift them an inch, should keep out alot of water.
We have had a number of friends in Calgary with upper respiratory infections. They lost their voice for a few days. It seems to spread easily. You are smart to try to stay away from others. 😊
The only idea I have to keep the water out of the pits.. Build a shed over the pits that you could drive the trucks thru.. With a roof and sides it would protect the pits from snow and rain..
It would really benefit your operation if you enclosed those hoppers, you would still have some snow melt off the trailers and trucks, but not near as much as they are open, keep the electrical panels out of the weather, then get you some of those rubber roll up doors for each end, we used those type of doors on our train loadout at the mine, cost effective and kept weather out and heat it in the winter time!! Just an idea for you to ponder!! Keep the videos coming!!
Down in Southern IL, a lot of people get colds right at the start of fall harvest that last until we start getting frost in the mornings. It's likely allergies combined with an infection taking advantage of the allergies (as I was told by a doctor since I'm dealing with it right now).
Great job explaining the challengers of starting harvest..As for part prices. I wonder if you could pay in beans direct things might get cheaper. 150 bushels or so dumped on the counter! I often look at my costs in number of bales or sheep or tonnes of wheat. kind of puts things in perspective.
Never had allergies until I hit 30. It's been getting worse as the years go on. Have to take Zyrtec, especially this time of year with all the corn and bean dust in the air.
Lowes for safety Cones for the pits while open. They have the ones with reflective tape on the top. Also for marking Rocks for the rock picking crew. Put a pipe for a stack on the dagoman rock picker, and on the combine, and tractors.
Ships and chips. I upgraded my CAD/CAM workstation PC for CNC machining and 3D printing, was just double the price I built the whole thing for, for half the components of course. 🤣
Drink some hot tea with lemon and honey Zach, I swear it's a miracle drink. We have a bunch of beans directly behind our house, 70 miles straight west of Chicago. I'm not kidding when I tell youu I'm looking at the same thing. 70% looking over dry and the other 30% are green to yellow and wet. I haven't seen any sign of the farmer who rents the field. I guess he's waiting another few days. Feel better, and thanks for another great video.
I recently had almost identical symptoms to what you describe, but I decided to take a home Covid test because I'm frequently around some people with high health-risk conditions. I was surprised to find out that, what I thought was 'allergies', was actually Covid. Didn't get very sick at all but I still had to quarantine for awhile. Hope you all have a great harvest season.
Zack, I'm not even a minute into the video, just watched you say you were sick and said you were going to "make us deal with it" but honestly I'm happy to deal with it. I love your content and always look forward to your videos. Even your most boring content is still interesting to me because for whatever reason I'm super obsessed and intrigued by farming. I just want to say keep up the great work and thank you for suffering on camera for us so that we can enjoy another amazing video even though you probabaly don't feel like it. We appreciate your time and effort. Hope you feel better soon!! 🙏🏻❤️ Also don't tell LauraFarms I said this but you're a better farm-tuber than she is. I love her content as well but it just doesn't grab my attention as well as your videos.
Zack, go get your self some square u-bolts and feed the through the pit grates. And then just use the forks to pick them up. Some Chevy 1 ton u-bolts should do the trick.
Man, that rotten corn juice would be perfect for some hog bait, they love that stinky disgusting stuff. So glad to see Jim is back for another season, I wonder what his story line will be this time, hopefully he doesn't get fired again. Thanks for your content.
Not saying one way is better than another, but when we change sickle sections, we pull the whole section out of the head on each side and replace all the blades and then slide them back in. Makes it go a lot quicker and don’t have to deal with guards getting in the way.
9:58, I work on the dock at Old Dominion Freight line and moved a motor that looked just like that today. I didn't look at the hp but the size is similar, it weighed 2400lbs.
New video up on Between The Rows also! Go check it out! ua-cam.com/video/VwHLx41ePKE/v-deo.html
Can you please read my comments 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Is this yesterday's video? Or is there a new one just not there yet?
should build a roof over the pits ... so water could not go in
You still haven’t explained the picture of the 8RX from the video a couple months ago.
May want to edit out the feeding deer part, I am pretty sure there is a ban on that where you are at...Just a heads up

Your pops is a real one. No sense of ego and always polite. ✌❤
My company makes the hose assemblies on the front of the sump trucks. Hose is “gator hose”
I love it when Isla leaves and the german shephard follows to protect her. Great dog and Isla is getting good on the 4 wheeler.
"What that does...is nothin'!" Jim's back for harvest!! Hilarious!
We always pull out the Sickles on our headers to change the sections
Glad you took my suggestion on the vac truck. I can only imagine the stench from that water sitting in the yard.
Great to see the boss , Jim , is back !! Looking forward to your harvest videos Zach ! Best of luck with it !!
Love that Jim is Back!! Missed that guy, that guy is a guy I'd love to sit and have a beer with! Stay safe harvesting guys!

Good to see ya back Jim. I hope you got your house back together after the storms. I hope yall have a great harvest..
Love watching the respect and warm relationship you share with your dad and his friends.
Absolutely. I'm a world where values are going south. I love the respect shown here.
So good seeing jim back on the farm.
Always good to see Jim again.
Love Jim and your dad. They are amazing people!
Greetings From The UK - good to see Jim - Good Luck with the harvest
I love how they just work so hard to make this operation great and everyone loves the vids
I got the impression that Dad didn't want to handle the heavy dirty chain... Smart man, that's why you have kids!
This is the favorite time of the year for the farmers. Hope everybody's having a great day it's raining here in Milton Pennsylvania delayed in Harvest

We used to grind to sharpen sickle sections. Mainly with 7’ sickle mower, swather…
I love watching harvesting season. Plus as a mailman in Northern minnesota i can watch them harvest forever.
I bet that winters in Minnesota are a lot of fun delivering in the cold and snow. Yuuuuk.

Seems like you could fashion a jig to attach to the skid loader to lift the truck tires for removal and installation

That's a great idea! I never thought of letting the air out of a tire to make it lighter!
